“This is not the first time this kind of stuff has happened, but I didn’t expect that they would attack a week apart…” the Knight mentioned, rubbing the blade extension on their shoulder and staining it with blood. The blood on the extension shined a bright red as the figure held out their hand. The blood floated from the extension and started to group into a pocket watch in the figure’s hand.
“Half past seven…” the figure muttered as the pocket watch melted and phased through their hand.
Half an hour until he’s here the figure thought.
“What are you doing here anyways? Why not go back to your room?” The figure asked.
"I haven't been shown where my room is?" A confused expression flashed across Pasha's eyes. "I was told to watch from the window, and now here you are. I'm still a little confused about everything that is going on and I have a feeling Im going to become a little overwhelmed if I don't get told what exactly I am meant to be doing here because until someone tells me I feel like I'm a sitting duck!" He quickly covered his mouth, ashamed for his outburst, and averted his gaze from the knight. "My apologies, we haven't even been introduced. I'm Pasha."
(Just letting you know that I am going to be on and offline for a while, I'm having to use a computer at college due to all my things being taken from me at home)
(Ah, gotcha’)
“Dorado” the Knight replied blankly.
“Your room’s on the first floor, right hall” they answered as they turned towards the hall itself. From Pasha’s angle, he would see that the figure had an earpiece on. This is further confirmed by the figure’s next actions…
“Yes? D2 speaking, what is it A?…”
They paused for a bit then.
“Ah, got it, thanks mate” they hung up the call.
“Sorry to cut it, I have to go meet someone so… excuse me” their body disappeared, leaving only a sword stuck on the ground.
Quebec glanced at the gem not for long before walking up to open the door.
"Yes?" He looked at Vincent who stood infront of his room. "Anything I can help you with?"
Vincent kept his knife sheathed, not wanting to scare or threaten Quebec in any way.
“May I ask you a few questions about the man you found dead earlier?” he introduced, keeping his hands in his pocket.
Matthew raised a brow at the situation but didn’t exactly question it. He just felt like the man at the door seemed a bit familiar for some apparent reason.
Quebec looked at Matthew before turning back to Vincent.
"Well, sure, but I'd go ask the knights at the 'crime scene' if I were you" He looked at Vincent not recognizing him as a knight.
Vincent shook his head.
“I want to hear at least something from the first one who found the corpse. It’s primary information, I hope you understand…” he spoke in a calm tone with the slightest hint of joy in his speech. He eyed Matthew but didn’t make any comments about him.
“…when you found the corpse, what time was it? Was there anything alongside the corpse that you found? Was there anyone else with you at that time?” He asked continuously.
Luc was just hanging around in the background, reading a book as he leaned against the wall. He might have been listening in a bit too, but only a bit.
Quebec listened to all of the questions Vincent shot at him before replying to each of them respectively.
"I don't have an exact time of when I found the corpse…and I found a letter that was pierced by a knife on Horo's corpse"
He mentioned the letter, though had no intention to show it to Vincent.
"No one was with me when I found the corpse" By the time he finished his sentence, he noticed Luc, Aries.
Vincent noted each of the answers down, nodding with every answer Quebec gave him.
“Thank you, this will be useful soon enough. Thank you for your cooperation” he kept the small notebook in his cloak’s pocket.
Turning back to Lucisan…
“Would you like to go to the ‘crime scene’ with me or would you prefer to sleep? Your room’s just there” he gestured to the door deepest into the hall.
Quebec closed the door and locked it before turning back to Matthew and shrugged at him.
"So, the gem, what is it?"
“My guess would be sapphire judging from its color and cut but I wouldn’t guarantee it though” the jewel was only about the size of Matthew’s pinky finger in length but was quite large in width and depth.
“…and that silver-eyed dude, I think I sold him something just earlier this week though I don’t remember what it was” Matthew mentioned, handing the jewel out so Quebec could get a better look at it.
"I think I'll go with you. I don't trust this place enough to fall asleep willingly." He shrugged, closing his book and slipping it into his bag as he moved closer.
It was clear was Draco was complaining about the pain, he was having a knife through his neck after all.
“I mean… kinda—AHH!!” the knife the other man held went quite deep inside the Dragon’s neck as they moved it down a bit. Pulling the sharp object out, a small, sharp, and bloody piece of metal came out with it.
“Alright… all done…” the ‘doctor’ of the room carefully placed the sharp metal piece on a thin sheet of white cloth as Draco began to heal himself with his scales.
“Is there something I can do to help you?” The ‘doctor’ turned to ask Lata, keeping their mask and gloves on. The badge on them was one of a bird symbol.
Lata shook her head. "No… I think I'm good, thanks," she replied, voice a bit shaky. The stabbing had really made her insides churn. Not because of the blood, but the fact that the 'doctor' was the one doing it. "I came to check on Draco," she added. It was the truth, but only part of it. She mostly just needed direction as to where to go, but it was a bonus to know that the other would be alright.
Vincent nodded and guided Lucisan to the ‘crime scene’. Upon arrival, another figure was examining the corpse. They looked up when they heard footsteps.
“Died an hour and a half ago, reason of death was stabbed through the heart but had several stab wounds throughout their body. The weapons used were not theirs but of the other more popular Knights; Pheonix’s, Draco’s, and Reticulum’s. No finger prints nor foot prints…” the figure said as if they knew what questions Vincent was going to ask them.
“And you arrived…?”
“Fifteen minutes earlier” they answered.
Vincent sighed as he jotted everything down. “Quick as always, Delphinus” he stated.
“Well, Luc—“ Vincent turned to face him “—within the three names of the Knights mentioned, do you know anyone of them? Not that they’re the culprit, but it’d be great to question them first as to where they were exactly”
The ‘doctor’ nodded and slid his stool to come check on another Knight.
Draco stood up and walked to stand in front of Lata.
“You don’t have to worry too much about me, self-healing is one of my key features after all” he said with rueful smile.
“Well, do you need anything from me? Seems like you’re lost or at least want something right?”
Quebec held the blue gem gently on the tip of his index and thumb. His face got closer and closer to the gem as he inspected it.
"What do you plan on doing with it? I obviously have no plan on what I can do with it except sell it" He handed it back to Matthew as it lied on his palm
Matthew took it back and looked at it again.
“I might have a friend of mine from Liestha take a better look at it first, maybe its value is more than I thought” he mentioned as he slipped the jewel back into his pocket. He picked the letter up and read it through again.
“Damn, this dude’s gotta be quite strong, a royal’s interested in him” he commented.
Luc shook his head. "All I know about them is what I've read." He stated, biting his lip. "Oh wait! I fought Phenoix. The bird brain, yes."
Vincent noted this down.
“I doubt you know about her to know if she hates him or not so I’m not going to ask…” he looked into the room. He walked to the corpse and touched the parts of the pool of blood which have not dried up yet, staining his finger with blood. He then knelt down, touched the floor and closed his eyes.
“Argentum Sense…” he muttered out loud as the spot his hand touched revealed faint blood trails in a silver shade of hue leading outside the room and into the hallway.
Vincent stood up straight and started to follow the trail.
Lata nodded. "Yeah, sorry. I pretty much have no idea where anything is," Lata admitted. She had only arrived, learned about some weird dragon power thing she now had, met some villain of some sort, and was left alone after that. So not the greatest first day. Especially for the fact she wasn't fully sure on the position in the first place.
Luc followed the foreign knight with a frown, mind wandering. If I could find any of them, I could interrogate them. I don't have most of my materials, but my magic will always work.
“Well… I’ll tell you the places that you will have to know. As you know, Syzen’s meeting room is the deepest room of the left hall after the first corridor while Frensa’s on the right hall. Pass the second corridor, the left hall is where we are, the nursing room and the room deeper down the hall is the armory while the right hall—“ he gestured in the direction “—will be your rooms which are labeled clearly. The third corridor’s left hall is the library, the right hall is a small Arena. The second and third floor of the palace are filled with Frensa’s Knights’ rooms — our rooms, which are, once again, all labeled. The fourth floor is the Viscounts’ floor and the fifth floor is the Prince’s. Outside the palace, to the right is the archery range and the outside field and the left is where we just came from, known to the Knights as the Silent Field…” he breathed before continuing.
“That should be it for the things you need to know about for now for what’s inside the palace. As for outside, there’re different kinds of shops scattered all around so it should be easy to find whatever you would want to buy”
The silvery blood trail faded away somewhere around the center point between the right hall where they were headed and the left hall of the second floor they came from. There were also two other ways the culprit could have went; up to the third floor or down to the first floor.
“Damn it…” Vincent cursed out loud, trying his best to make his ability work to its fullest potential.
[Where should Luc and Vincent go?]
[To Second Floor’s Right Hall]
[Up to the Third Floor]
[Down to the First Floor]
"First floor is where I would go. Easier to escape that way and where most people go when murdering someone." Luc offered up absentmindedly, his brain still turning it's cogs.
