“I mean, they don’t mind people stealing books but chase the living hell out of someone who stole a rusted knife” he showed the dagger. The dagger was, as the figure stated, rusted and dusted.
As Quebec was in his room, a knock came from outside.
“Que? It’s Matthew, can you let me in?”
“Stay still…”
“Gahh!!! It hurts god damnit!!”
Two voices came from the nursing room; the one who complained was definitely Draco.
“Can you keep it down?”
Another came from the same room.
Quebec, who had just finished up showering, yelled towards the door. "Give me a minute" He said as he took new clothes from the luggage he packed and wore them. After some time, he unlocked the door for Matthew.
“I mean, they don’t mind people stealing books but chase the living hell out of someone who stole a rusted knife” he showed the dagger. The dagger was, as the figure stated, rusted and dusted.
"Why'd you even steal it?" Luc asked, starting to walk down the street. He didn't have anywhere to sleep so he might as well just walk around,
Matthew nodded subtly.
“I just need someone to talk to, that’s all” he came in and sat on the floor.
“So… uh… how was the Basilisk thing?” He asked, stretching as he was sitting.
The cloaked figure held their pendant up and it flashed once. The rusted and dusted dagger started to change shape. When the light from the pendant faded, the knife was revealed to be of a silver near white color, a neon blue edge, a light blue grip, and a shiny blade.
“This is why”
Luc marveled at the blade. "Oooh, what's it made of? Is it used with coding from your kingdom?"
The figure nodded.
“Royalist Silver, an exclusive from Liestha—“ the figure fidgeted with the dagger “—and yes, it’s made almost purely from coding” they answered as they kept the dagger in their cloak.
"Amazing. I haven't seen that type of metal in a while." He bit his lip from saying anything else. "Anyhow, I'm Luc."
“You can call me Vincent, I’m a Knight from Liestha…” they lowered their hood to revealed their scarred face. They had completely white hair, scars down their face and neck accompanied with a pair of silver glasses.
"Well Horo is dead and there're some dudes taking care of both the corpse, there's also this envelope left with Horo's dead body" Quebec stood up and picked up the stained envelope from thr desk in the room.
Matthew took a look at the envelope and started to read it as he mentioned something…
“I found something you might like on the way here, you want me to show it to ya? Or would you prefer to sleep?” He finished reading the letter and set it back down on the table.
“You can call me Vincent, I’m a Knight from Liestha…” they lowered their hood to revealed their scarred face. They had completely white hair, scars down their face and neck accompanied with a pair of silver glasses.
Luc nodded. "I kinda guessed that part." He took a sip of their coffee and analyzed the person's face. "Say, did you bring a mass murderer to Candorin three years ago?"
Shit-
Vincent eyed Lucisan a bit, taking another sipping of the cup in his hand. When the cup was taken away from his lips, he pursed them once then turned to face Luc.
“Perhaps I was one of Knights who were associated with the event though it was an event I’d very much would like to forget…” the figure explained in a surprisingly sad tone.
“Not a lot of people know this but we were told that the prince of Candorin was the one who ordered the attack that happened months prior—“ they took another sip of the coffee “—though that was what made me hate the person in charge of my troops because as cruel as the kingdom may be, they do things for a reason, and I very much respect them in that sense. Which was why I was one of the very few Knights to go against my own army, silently killing some of them when everything went down and in the end, no one suspected a single thing…” they took a sip “…sorry, I’m rambling again aren’t I?”
"No, no, it's alright." Luc nodded, taking in what the other was saying. It was true, he did order the attack, well, part of it. He had planned it, using the army to make a swift attack on a kingdom's main port. The kingdom in question had lied to Luc's kingdom in order to save their own skin. They had told Candorin that the murderer Candorin was supposed to take was a poor woman when in fact it was a wealthy noble who paid the kingdom.
The knight sighed.
“But something most people don’t know was the fact that…” the figure took another sip “…the murderer Candorin was after was killed already by the ‘Silverwing Rebels’ group which included me. About the group, I should tell you that it’s still active and we’re still hunting down murderers across the kingdoms. You may have heard of us… one of your warriors is in the group after all” he mentioned, taking another sip of the coffee. It might seem weird how the cup wasn’t empty yet, but if you pay attention, Vincent was taking very small sips each time he raised the cup.
"And why are you telling me this?" Luc asked, he didn't have his mist out, so Vincent shouldn't be telling him all this out of magic. They could be trying to recruit him, but that was unlikely if they already had a Candorin Warrior.
Vincent turned directly to look Lucisan’s in the eyes.
“The current murderer we are after is a Knight of Selas, though we could not confirm who it is just yet… our Selas members are trying to figure it out as well but we haven’t gotten much information just yet so… be careful” he explained as his eyes shined a bright silver hue and a flashy sensation came with it.
"Which knight? I might just be able to help." Luc replied vaguely, swallowing down the taste of the other's magic. It was weird, like licking metal. But that's just how most of the people from that kingdom's magic is.
“We’re unsure. They used the weapons of three of the Knights; Draco, Pheonix, and Reticulum. We only know of the victim—“ he got out a small notebook and flipped through it “—Horologium” he mentioned. Closing the notebook, he stated…
“But there was no way the three knights who are the owners of the weapons could be the culprit as they were all outside the palace when the murder took place. I know this because the members of our group told me th—“ Vincent stopped and touched his earpiece…
“Yes, Agent V speaking, what is it D1?” He stopped and listened, nodding once every second or so.
“Alright, gotcha’, thanks for the info” the earpiece flashed once and Vincent went back to talking to Luc.
“New info, one of your Zodiac friends was the first one to have found the corpse. Maybe we can get to that, Aquarius is our man right now for questioning”
Luc bit his lip. "Which one is that, Matheew? Quebic?" He really hadn't been intrested in talking to the others… "Well, would you like to come with me to find them?" He offered up, shrugging.
“That’d be great, thank you. Also, his name’s Quebec” the knight stated as he started his pace towards the palace.
"… Close enough." Luc shrugged, walking with the other. Remembering names was not a strong suit, which sucked balls when being a royal becuase that's a lot of what you had to do.
“Stay still…”
“Gahh!!! It hurts god damnit!!”
Two voices came from the nursing room; the one who complained was definitely Draco.
“Can you keep it down?”
Another came from the same room.
Lata raised a brow at the sudden cry of pain. Earlier, the knight made it seem like his injuries were nothing. Now Draco was going to voice his pain? She didn't understand his be-strong-in-front-of-a-lady act or whatever it was, but it would be good to check on him. And to ask where the hell anything was. Taking her time, the girl came closer to the nursing room only to stop in the doorframe.
"Gonna finally admit that you need more rest than I do?" she asked, a small smile on her lips. She then took a step inside just so she wouldn't block any one else's admittance or exit.
"Sure, show it to me. I can use something interesting right now" Quebec set his folded clothes next to his luggage before hopping onto the bed right next to a lamp.
As Vincent came into the palace, he kept his footsteps as silent as can be for two certain reasons; he did not want to interrupt the people in there and he was not wanting to deal with the more unfriendly knights of the palace.
“He should be… in the right hall…” he kept his pace towards the hall as he knocked on Aquarius’ door.
It was clear was Draco was complaining about the pain, he was having a knife through his neck after all.
“I mean… kinda—AHH!!” the knife the other man held went quite deep inside the Dragon’s neck as they moved it down a bit. Pulling the sharp object out, a small, sharp, and bloody piece of metal came out with it.
“Alright… all done…” the ‘doctor’ of the room carefully placed the sharp metal piece on a thin sheet of white cloth as Draco began to heal himself with his scales.
“Is there something I can do to help you?” The ‘doctor’ turned to ask Lata, keeping their mask and gloves on. The badge on them was one of a bird symbol.
Matthew took something out of his shirt’s pocket; it was a blue gem of some sort.
“I was just walking around a bit and someone in front of me dropped this. I mean, I called out to them but they just turned back and ran away, not sure what this is though…” he showed it to Quebec before turning to the door when he heard a knock.
A blue armored knight with many blade extensions on their armor came up behind Pasha and stared out the same window.
“Heh, those bastards are back again aren’t they…” the figure complained to themself.
Pasha whirled around, his fists clenched as if bracing himself for a fight, but he let his guard down again when he noticed the knight standing there. "What do you mean again?"
