@Hawkeye
The fire had reached almost the highest Lydia had ever seen it, and she smiled at Trent.
The fire had reached almost the highest Lydia had ever seen it, and she smiled at Trent.
Trent looked up as he finished, beaming at Lydia. His heart was still pounding in his chest from nervous excitement, the guitar held tightly in his hands.
Everyone clapped, laughing. Even the grumpiest kids in camp seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Trent’s gaze shifted to the Apollo kids as they started asking for song requests. He flashed his eyes back to Lydia to see if she would ask for something.
Lydia smiled. “What about Sweet Home Alabama?” Lydia wasn’t suee why that song came to mind.
Trent’s eyes lit up. He had grown up listening to that song, and the melody was familiar to him. He began to strum the opening chords, softly singing along under his breath.
Everyone who knew the song immediately joined in, people listening to the lyrics and trying to figure out what they were.
Trent was thrilled by this, playing about as passionately as one could get with an acoustic guitar.
Lydia was one of the loudest singers in the group, smiling and singing along, throwing an arm around her brother’s shoulder.
Trent continued playing, watching the fire roar to life in front of him as people joined in.
((I feel like we need more characters lmao))
Lydia eventually ended up with her arms draped dramatically around her brother and a random Athena kid who happened to be sitting next to her.
Trenton played out the song, and felt pleased with himself once it ended.
Lydia smiled at him from across the campfire.
(I have to go for the night)
Trenton smiled back, waiting patiently for the next song to be picked.
(Goodnight!)

Lydia nudged Sam for a song choice. “Um…. Uptown Girl.” He said, not taking any time to think about it.
Trent chuckled, his eyes sparkling with amusement as he started to play Uptown Girl.
This time, the joining in took a little longer as people tried to remember the lyrics, but eventually everyone had it.
Trent seemed to be having a good time at this point, smiling shyly as he played.
Lydia smiled and sung along. She wasn’t sure where her brother had come up with this song, since their foster mother hated it.
Trent couldn’t even remember the last time he’d played this song on his guitar, but he still new the basic chords, and played a slightly off version of it.
Lydia got so into the song at one point that she fell out of her seat, although she quickly righted herself.
The gentle strumming slowed as Trent finished the song, uncertain of how many song he had to play.
Lydia shook her head, hoping he would understand that that meant he didn’t need to do any more songs.
