Trent chewed his lip, debating on how to word this. “Okay, this is going to sound crazy, but hear me out.”

“Yeah”
“A demigod—what we all are here, is someone who had one human parent and one boldly parent, making them half god.” He explained slowly. “My mother is Aphrodite.”
His face was stunned “wait so my mom is one of the goddesses”
Trent ran a hand through his hair. “Mostly likely. You may or may not get claimed by her. They don’t always claim their children.” He explained.
Ophelia huffed a wry laugh. "So don' hold out on it."
“It would be great to be the child of Hecate”
“Do yourself a favor and don’t try to favor certain gods or goddesses. Stay out of their business. Safer that way.” Trent said sharply.
“Okay. Hey what are those weird cabins for”
“Places for the kids here to stay. A cabin for each god or goddess. We train and learn here. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood, Jake.” He smiled warmly, holding out his hand for the boy to shake.
He shook his hand and asked “since I have not been claimed where will I sleep?”
“The Hermes Cabin takes all the unclaimed demigods. You should have a home with them for now.”
“How do you train people?” (I could get claimed at the campfire)
(Okay, sounds good!)
“Usually in the arena, unless you’re an archer by any chance.” Trent replied swiftly.
“Nope last time I tried that in school I almost hit someone”
Trent smiled. “I’m not good at it either. We can help you pick out a weapon later.”
“Great” he said gleefully
“What’s your name?”
“You can call me Trent. Ophelia and I will probably mentor you a bit since we’re the ones who found you,”
Ophelia tipped her head in acknowledgment.
“Who is Ophelia’s god?” With a lot of curiosity
"Don' know, and I'm past caring." She said shortly.
Trent gave her a sympathetic look. “Like we said, not everyone gets claimed.”
“What things do they do here other than the arena.” He said with even more curiosity than before
“Crafts, capture the flag, scavenger hunts, agility courses, learning to read and write in Ancient Greek. There’s more too. Trust me, you’ll find a place to fit in.”
