“The lake.” Trent responded without no explanation.
“The lake.” Trent responded without no explanation.
Lydia nodded, smiling. “Any reason?”
(Could I join)
“To ensure I remain awake.” Trent sighed.
(If you can find a place to insert your character, that’s fine.)
“Why didn’t you stay asleep?” Lydia asked with concern. “It’s not good for you to deprive yourself of sleep!”
“I find myself… unable to sleep for long stretches of time.” Trent seemed to clammed up at the question, unwilling to answer it.
Lydia raised an eyebrow. “Why not?” She asked, forgetting about any lines she wasn’t supposed to cross.
“Because the gods deprive me so.” Trent avoided answering, keeping his head down as he walked.
“Right.” Lydia replied, rolling her eyes.
(I’ve got to go, I have family in town that want me downstairs)
Trent sighed softly, massaging his temples as they walked.
(Okay, have fun!)
(Good morning!)
“Are you alrught?” Lydia asked again, watching Trent.
(Good Morning!)
(Morning!)
“Just tired.” He responded quietly, feeling a headache building in his head.
“You sure?” Lydia asked, turning and walking backwards so she could look at him.
“I believe so.” He looked over at Lydia with faint amusement.
Lydia raised an eyebrow. “Somehow I still doubt that you’re telling the truth.”
“I will admit I am… stressed to a certain degree.” Trent sighed slowing his pace as they neared the lake.
“Why? Everything ok? Someone being stupid?” Lydia asked quickly.
“Only me, dwarf. No need to worry yourself. He walked up the the water’s edge, kicking off his shoes and socks. He took off his shirt before wading into the water.
Lydia kicked her shoes off and followed him, worried about him even though he said not to be.
Trent shivered as the lake water lapped at his skin, but he settled down, sitting down where the water reached his shoulders.
“Trent, is there something going on? ‘Cause you can tell me if there is, I’m not going to judge. Actually, you should tell me, or at least someone, it’s not good for you to keep stuff bottled up.” Lydia said quietly.
Trent let out a long sigh, closing his eyes. “You’ve only known me for a day, little dwarf.”
“And?”
“So you shouldn’t worry so much. Stress is bad for your health.”
