Lisette tried to shut her mouth but it slipped out. “Orion was a hunter and the lover of the goddess Diana. She wanted to marry him but Apollo tricked her into shooting Orion so she made him into a constellation.”
She quickly put her hand over her mouth.
Cosmina glanced at Lisette. “You would really get along well with my brother,” she replied with a slight smile. To Aina she added, “We need to hang out. Trouble is my specialty.”
Aina grinned. "Thank god, it's my one and only skill," she laughed lightly.
Karina face palmed at the comment from Cosmina. "Please, for stars sakes don't do anything too stupidly dumb? I don't know how I can convince mom and dad to let you off easy if you have an accomplice!" she said, exasperated.
Cosmina giggled. “Luckily for us, my other skill is getting out of trouble,” she added with a confidential smile. “Don’t worry so much.”
"'Stupidly dumb' is a redundant," Aina pointed out. "But I have no idea why you feel like it's your responsibility to get me out of trouble. The consequences are just how I know that I've really pissed them off; it's half the fun."
“I’ll join as long as we aren’t running.” Lisette sighed. “And you think I’ll get along well with your brother eh?”
"Oh, my apologies Miss Grammar police," Karina replied, rolling her eyes. "In case you haven't noticed, I do that because I care about you. I'll stop though if you really think being grounded for life is appealing," she spat, feeling both annoyed and a bit hurt.
“Soooooo. Does that mean no running?”
Aina bit her lip, staring at the ground. "That's not - I didn't mean that, I'm sorry," she said softly. "I got overly excited."
“Well. We can talk Greek Mythology in the meantime unless anyone knows somebody else who wants to talk about their favorite god or goddess.” Lisette shuffled- finding it harder to keep her balance on her tiptoes.
"No, no. Do what you want I guess," Karina said, shrugging. Inside, the struggle returned, battle between staying quiet and acting like herself. Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut. Now I really don't fit in.
Lisette groaned and sat down. “MUCH better!”
"But - frozen yogurt - " Aina sputtered. "We're so close!"
Lisette grumbled and stumbled to her feet. “Fine! But just for Fro-Yo! Only Fro-Yo.”
“I am so ready for fro-yo!” Cosmina added. “And yes, my brother is also a huge dork, so you’d be great friends.”
For someone who was thoroughly trained in talking in circles as well as manipulating conversations, Aquila was lost. "Frozen yogurt, yes," he grasped desperately, trying to have some semblance of control.
Vesper looked around in confusion, shaking his head quickly. He had lost the conversation a long, long time ago. So he remained silent and nodded along, pretending he knew anything about this.
The group arrived at the froyo shop, and Aina practically bounced with excitement, throwing the door open and barely refraining from yelling, at last! "Ah, frozen yogurt, my old friend. It's been far too long."
Karina followed behind silently. She wanted her frozen yogurt and then she wanted to leave. Once they got back to the house…? The girl wasn't sure what she'd do. She didn't want to be that stiff proper princess, but it was hard to be herself here. She felt trapped.
Cosmina practically ran inside, she was so excited. She looked at all of the flavors quickly before deciding on chocolate fro-yo. She was planning out what toppings she would use on it (more chocolate and also maybe a strawberry).
Lisette went for the vanilla and covered it with mini gummies, brownie bites and marshmallow things then topped it off with vanilla cinnamon swirl Stick things. “Perfection! I need this!”
(What just happened to my paragraph?)
(Wait. It just fixed itself)
