(Turtlepool is a sweet old calico she cat with dull amber eyes. She is very, very old, but she knows lots of interesting stories)
"How are you doing, Turtlepool?" Ashpaw asked in a loud voice. "What was that, kit? Who's speaking?" Ashpaw raised his voice more. "This is Ashpaw, I asked how you were!" "Oh! My old knees are acting up again; I can feel the leaf fall coming in my bones." "That's alright, Turtlepool. I'll make sure you're nice and warm in here. I'll have some warriors insulate it some more for the cold weather." Turtlepool nodded, staring at a point just past Ashpaw blankly.
(I gtg for a few hours probably, should be back at some point tonight)
The calico she-cat lifted her dull amber eye and glanced out the den as the black warrior Ravenwing passed. "I wonder when Rainshadow will join me, its getting really lonely without Marshtail and Creeksong. I miss them both…"
"I know, I miss them too. Rainshadow has been getting slower and hard of hearing, so I'm sure he'll join you soon." Ashpaw smiled softly before padding out of the den to fetch some herbs for Turtlepool. When he returned, he lay them in front of the old she cat.
"Hummmmm, smells like mouse dung," She hummed, "or the apprentice haven cleaned out the old moss."
"Er, I can promise you that these are not. I can't attest for the apprentices though, I've noticed they've been slacking off lately."
"Speaking of apprentices, they should be made warriors soon. Frostpaw and Snowpaw are older then you after all."
(Shoot, right when I get on I'm called down to do something >;( Bye, again)
(Rip okay return soon fren)
Ashpaw nodded. "It'll be a few moons until I'm a full medicine cat, and maybe even longer than that. There's not a set age to rank up for medicine cats like there is for warriors."
She nodded slowly, then sat back down, "Well, I better get some sleep" She sighed, "This upcoming Leaf-bare will do nothing but harm."
"Alright, Turtlepool. Take care." Ashpaw left the den silently, looking around the camp as he went. All the cats were making preparations for leafbare. He spotted Jaysong and trotted up to him.
The gray tom fluffed around his tail as he looked franticly at everything. There was no fear in his eyes, just excitement and joy.
"Hello Jaysong." Ashpaw bowed his head politely. "Is there any way we could insulate the elders' den a bit more for this leaf bare? Turtlepool is getting older, and the cold really takes a toll on her health."
"Uh, well, why don't you take that problem to Snowface? I'm doing something at the moment." He said quickly as he glanced down at the bush that separated them form the river.
Ashpaw wanted to ask what, but figured it would be unwelcome. "Alright." He went to go find Snowface.
It turned out Snowface was out on patrol with Rainshadow, Whitefoot, and Ravenwing. Robinflight offered to go get her but Ashpaw declined, doing so would take to much effort and time. Turning back to the clearing, Ashpaw spotted Frostpaw and Snowpaw talking at the fresh-kill pile.
Ashpaw decided he could just catch up with Frostpaw and Snowpaw while he waited and limped over to them. "Hey guys, how've you been?"
(What are Frost and Snow's genders again?)
(Frost is boy, Snow is girl)
"Training." The two white cats said at once.
(Alrighty)
"Fair enough." He sat down next to the two apprentices. "Well, what all have you done? You'll be warriors soon, won't you?"
"We know, its been sooooo long." Snowpaw sighed, laying her white tail over her paws.
Frostpaw let out a annoyed sigh and looked down at the ground, "Training wise? its all been good, our mentors are really great but sometime it feels like they think we're new apprentices."
"I think Finchsong has put a lot of trust in me." Ashpaw sighed. "It's a bit exhausting, but I've managed thus far. Besides being kitnapped, but whatever. I had no control over that."
"But you do haw Lilypetal, she's like a medicine cat!" Snowpaw put in.
Ashpaw shrugged. "Lilypetal comes in handy, but she mostly knows the basics. And while I appreciate her help, she's certainly no medicine cat. And I have this weird feeling that Finchsong will be different when she returns. And that she'll not be alone."
"She wont be alone on her return home." Frostpaw chirped in as he pulled out a fish from the pile, "She has Oakleaf with her."
"I know, but not just them. I dunno… do you think they'll have brought a tribe cat with them? That would certainly be something."
