@Fraust
"I thought you were supposedly 'so fast'? Why're you staying so far behind me?"
"I thought you were supposedly 'so fast'? Why're you staying so far behind me?"
"So I don't leave you behind." He said simply, not trying to gag on the taste of dry fish.
"Yeah, right." Enjoying the view? Shut up! What, don't like your more confident inner voice? I said be quiet!
"Lets just get to the forest line before it turned night." He said quickly, forgetting her and racing ahead because she was annoying.
"Fine." Finchsong broke into a run behind him, quickly catching up.
"Keep up please!" Oakleaf teased, "I don't like going slow paces!"
"I am!" She picked up her pace, overtaking Oakleaf.
(Oakleaf is faster then Finchsong, ok? He's a Windclan cat!!)
"Good!" He smirked, blazing across the meadow like a rabbit in the chase.
(I know, he wasn't going full speed. She'd destroy him in any swimming competition)
Finchsong kept up as best she could, maintaining about a consistent fox length behind Oakleaf.
The ferns and heathers turned to bushes and brambles, and before they new it they were leaping briers and divides, and even climbing low hanging trees to get across some patches of thorny brush.
Finchsong struggled to climb the trees, almost falling several times. There weren't really any trees in Riverclan.
"You have to dig your claws in deep!" Oakleaf said, standing on one of the branches.
"I'm trying to! My paws were made for swimming, not climbing." She grunted, eventually managing to get on a branch.
"And my paws are made for running but I made it." He challenged, hopping over to another branch.
Finchsong hopped after him cautiously, too focused on not falling to retaliate.
He let out a snort, “You look like a long legged bird trying to swim.”
"Swimming I'm good at. Birds like trees, and very few of them can swim. I suppose that's your point?" She scrambled up onto a branch and her hind paw slipped. She slammed into the branch, starting to fall.
“As I said!” He exclaimed, racing over to and grabbing her by the scruf, “Your as clumsy as a long legged bird in deep water!”
Finchsong pressed herself against the tree trunk, gasping for breath. "I've decided that I don't like climbing…"
“Well me too!” He muttered, pulling her up besides him, “but traveling on land over here is impossible.”
Finchsong treaded even more carefully after that, each pawstep set down carefully and slowly so she wouldn't fall again. Her claws dug in to the bark.

Oakleaf guided Finchsong through, he tested the branches to see if they were stable, and picked out the well grown ones and avoided the broken ones. By the time the sun was past its peak, it was finally safe to travel back to ground.
"Thank Starclan we can get out of these wretched trees." Finchsong carefully climbed down, glad to be on ground that wasn't putting her in danger of falling at any moment.
"Well I thought the climb was nice." Oakleaf teaser, licking his paws.
"Of course you would." Finchsong scoffed, setting down the fish for a moment.
