“Are you alright?” Angel repeated to Zach, still worried that more damage was done than people had fixed. She glanced at him, then to Neirym, now embarrassed that she hadn’t done anything to help. She looked at her feet and held her arm, stepping back beside Actinolite sadly.
'Alright, I'll just command the ghost to follow your orders. I'm still true power, I can't fix that, but I won't take it back, the ghost will always follow you until I decide I want it back, which won't happen.' He sighed in relief, though a tiny bit nervous that the god would use the ghost against him. But that would be quick to solve, he'd just command the ghost not to follow him and then the ghost will stop. He looked back at the two Gem women, worried about Angel.
'Hey, I'm alright' he assured, 'though, I've got a question for your creator… was she made to be evil? She seems like an actual Angel more then anything else, and that would mean she shouldn't be around any of us… except for me, of course, I'm better then all of… wait, no, Neirym guy is better, of course, much more powerful than me.' For an odd reason, he had spent a full minute without hacking or wheezing, just a mild cough. Did the gas wear off? But then he realized that the weirdo who spread this gas would probably try to recreate it if it got weaker, so he decided to cough harder anyway.
Angel smiled, though still looked ashamed.
“Oh, no, none of my experiments are made to be evil, they’re made to be perfect.” Actinolite responded, shaking her head. “The reason I created them was to make Pink Diamond happy.” She looked very proud of herself, “She does have her flaws though; as you saw, she begins melting when she’s stressed, when she emerged her mental ability was very stunted; having an odd, slurred speech pattern, and her problem solving skills almost didn’t exist. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention; she has eyes all over her body.” Angel flinched at this, making it sadly clear that she was somewhat self conscious. “Oh, don’t worry, she can handle you guys.” Actinolite smiled again.
Angel went back to looking worried once more, not understanding that Zach was now faking his cough.
Neirym summoned his new ghost to himself happily. “You have done me a great favor Mous- I mean Zachary.” He grinned. “I have decided to never torture you for sport.” He looked around at all the others. “If you don’t mind, I’m going back to my home. It was quite pleasant to meet you Actinolite, as well as to see your creations.” He nodded at Angel as he spoke. He made as if to walk out the door but stopped. “Someone should see to Zachary’s wound. My healing magic only goes so far, since I rarely use it.”
Mike reluctantly pulled a medical kit from his backpack. "I can patch him up, I guess, unless someone here has better healing abilities than that."
“Good,” Neirym said, “then I will be off.” With a merry wave he walked out the door.
'Oh, alright then…' He sighed with relief again, glad that a fair trade ensured him no more harm. Perhaps he could do this instead to try and appease anyone else dangerous.
He looked back at the two Gem women and smiled gently at Angel.
'Oh, it doesn't matter, she's perfect the way I see her' he said, leaning more towards her. But then he heard Mikes response and turned expectantly. 'Oh, well, I'd appreciate that, but do you need anything in return?' He knew the ghosts were available were trade, but he didn't want to lose too many. The huge cluster was still just a 1% of his army.
Mike paused, sizing Zach up. "If you can offer me a square meal and a place to stay the night, we're even. I'm not interested in ghosts."
Angel smiled back, actually quite flattered that she of all creatures was perfect according to someone. She didn’t seem to understand why he was coming closer, but didn’t really question it after he turned away.
'Uhh alright mate, I'm no good at cooking, but there's probably a full kings diner upstairs, with thousands of bedrooms, you know…' He wasn't sure about this guy, especially the way he sized him up. But he ignored it for the Angel, who seemed to be blushing… which looked cute, but was made a bit better by the fact that it wasn't caused by blood. He leaned back once more, eyeing her up and down. He wasn't too sure what to say to her, but it seemed he had her attention.
"Oh, there is something else, actually," Mike added, crouching down to tend to Zach's injuries. Nodding to Angel, he spoke quietly so she couldn't hear. "Leave her alone."
'What do you mean, there's something else? Something else you want? …wait, do you have a crush on Angel? I mean, no surprise, but like, I think she's into me, dude. Besides, the lady- sorry I forgot your name again -she said that Angel could deal with the bad guys.'
"I don't have a crush on her," Mike said flatly. "Those are just my terms. If she thinks she can handle you, that's none of my business, but personally I don't think she can. Now hold still, I have to disinfect that stab wound and maybe stitch it up."
'Uhhhh….. okay?' Now he was just confused, but he obeyed and stayed as still as possible. His wound still hurt, but somehow he had no idea where it was, maybe the healing magic done before just numbed too much? He looked at Mike and wondered about him.
'So, what's your status where you come from?'
Mike paused, then shrugged. "I'm a nobody, I guess. We're called Wanderers. Sometimes I guide people from the river to the mountains for pay, but usually I do my own thing. We're not a very popular type where I live." He took out a small needle and used a scuffed lighter to heat it up, sterilizing it. "You?"
(off to bed, see you guys tomorrow)
She was indeed blushing, looking down with a shy smile, her wings wrapping around herself happily. He did have Angel’s attention, but she didn’t really respond in any way to his hints. Maybe she didn’t understand? Or did flirting not exist where they came from?
(is this thread glitching for anyone else? It keeps telling me there's new posts on it but when I get here there's nothing)
Zach looked in disappointment, and swiftly ignored him.
'Aw, don't be shy' he told Angel, 'it's alright to like someone like me, it just makes sense.' Once again, he did his best to show off his abs and biceps. 'I mean, I would be an embodiment of perfection if you didn't exist.' Wait, is he going to make the other lady jealous? He kinda hoped he didn't and kinda hoped he did, so her slyly winked at lady he kept forgetting the name of.
(I’m gonna assume that this is… always open? If so, I have some I wanna throw in)
(for a second I thought you had to wait for the moderator to come and say something, but then I released that I was the moderator XD yes, the number is unlimited and always open, even when it's "dead". I put marks around it cause shouldn't every thread be able to come back to life?)
(Ah, gotcha!)
The door creaked open as two hooded figures walked into the mansion. They both covered their faces with masks; one wore a silvery plain mask with a white ‘X’ crossing the whole mask, the other wore an open lotus flower.
”This place is a mess…” the one in the silver mask complained.
”Shut up and just move it…” the lotus replied, pulling the silverly one along.
Both of the figures’ hoods were slightly torn here and there and were stained with fresh looking red liquids.
Mike gave Zach a look. "If you keep moving around like that, I won't be able to stitch you up," he muttered.
At the sound of the door opening, he glanced up warily, keeping a sharp eye on the newcomers as he quickly continued dealing with Zach's injuries.
“Sorry…” She whispered, watching his show in confusion, still wrapped in her wings. Angel absentmindedly held one of them in her hands, adjusting it’s feathers quietly. “I’m really not perfect…” She said softly, as an opalescent feather fell from her wing.
The lady didn’t seem to care all that much, just raising an eyebrow at his wink. She once again pulled out that light screen of hers and seemingly checked data of some sort.
