“Yeah?” Angel asked, turning her head to him. “Oh, I just play with the corrupted Gems, watch Acti work and sometimes try to escape the facility. I also train a lot and help Acti test things.” She answered, shrugging. She would definitely do more if she could, but it’s not like a research center had many entertaining things to do…
Acti was actually working on something that removes all freedom of a Gem, with help from White Diamond, of course. She would know a thing or two about mind control. But currently, Acti seemed to have this manipulation thing down.
Why was Zach even pondering about this? It was like he was judging Angel even having a soul. Which was definitely not a way to seduce someone: questioning their free will. It seemed he was more obsessed with trying to make sense of Acti than actually doing anything else.
She came to a stop, spinning on her heal as she landed, swiftly turning to face him. “What did you say..?” Angel tried to cover a creepy orange eye that peaked from her arm eerily, it was clear she didn’t appreciate his staring, so she decided to glare back. Her wings fluffed up protectively, clearly disturbed by his comments. “What are you taking about…??” She asked, confused and a little angry. She wasn’t even wearing a dress, she was wearing normal clothes. Well, as normal as a living rock could have- a solid colored t-shirt and knee length pants. She never had such fancy clothes, and probably never will if she’s kept in Actinolite’s custody.

'Oh… right… kinda dull, but I don't care, I don't have to put up with it.' He leaned back on the wall, looking at while and pondering just how much control she has. It sort of sounde like she was slave or something, but she also had too much freedom for that… maybe servant, Zach thought. A servant would make sense.
'Hey, sweetie, you a servant to that Acti?'
But he couldn't get an answer. The moment Angel glared back at him made him jump, and he took a step back as she was puffing out her wings. This girl was weird, wasn't she kinder and mellow and all sweet and childlike? Maybe she just kept switching.
'Woah, cool ya tits,' he told her, 'just saying that I can see your crack and ya need to cover it up. No one wants to see that. If you're made by Acti, why the hell would she put gross human stuff on you? I thought you wre, you know, gems?' He was partly hoping that the gem women actually weren't anatomically like humans, and with them stating they had no blood, he almost believed. Do… did gems need to go to the toilet? Please say that's not a real butt he pleaded to himself.

She wrapped herself in her wings, huffing sassily, clearly offended. He was obviously mistaken, remember how Acti talked about no organs?
Yes, Angel was mostly sweet and kind, but she was meant to fight, so it made sense she would have a slight temper. Gems don’t do that organ stuff, they’re rocks. “It’s not human stuff. It’s a part of my body, now please get your head out of the gutter, this stuff is plastered onto me. I do not have anything that you should be disturbed by, aside from my eyes.” She said, trying her best to be polite, despite the fact that this was behavior that creeped her out. She didn’t really know why she had this little outburst, why she was angry. He just was acting… off, it really bothered her.
Angel proceeded to take a deep breath (ironically enough) and close her eyes, making her feathers settle as she said something quietly.
“So, if this place is empty, we should probably go back.” She quipped, walking past him with not as much as a glance.

Zach looked on in confusion as she told him about herself… so she had nothing inside her, but still had a butt? But that would make sense, he realized. Gems probably didn't need such complicated human parts such as noses and hair, but it might just be stuck on them to blend in.
'Aright, aright, I'm sorry' he exasperated, 'just don't show anything else, okay?'
He considered Angel's theory, and walked back down the hallway. He came back to the fork in less then a minute, despite him feeling like he walked a mile when walking ahead. Angel suggested leaving the entire room, but Zach still hadn't found anything of interest in the house, and he knew there was something in the mansion. Treasure, to be basic, but it could also be a centre of magic he could grab, a place full of weaponry, or anything that made him more powerful. There was a door at the end of the fork, crimson with gold edges and knobs. He grabbed onto the knob, but the door was too heavy, almost stuck. He had push harder, but despite desperate attempts, he couldn't move it at all. After a few more tries, he looked to Angel expectantly.

(I'm not dead lol)
Mike had found a large room filled with food, briskly assembled a small meal, and eaten it in silence. He was about to go looking for somewhere to sleep, but then he heard a commotion and shouting from somewhere else in the building. He stopped to listen, his mood darkening. He wasn't a 'people-person' by any stretch of the term, and his patience for this place was dwindling. He decided he wanted to go back home.
There was a hall with rows of doors attached to the dining room, so Mike began to test his own ability to influence what was beyond the doors. The first few held forests or grasslands, but he could tell right away that they weren't the correct location. On his forth try, he opened a door and water started to rush in again, heralded by a crash of thunder and a wail of wind through the pines. This was the place. Satisfied, he hitched up his backpack and ducked out into the rain, closing the door behind him.
What he didn't realize was that one of the other doors was still slightly ajar. And through it, something managed to slip into the manor from a foggy marsh. Something small, muddy, and blue-eyed, that carried a ragged bone knife and was very angry.
(I got bored of Mike, this character might be a bit more active)

( aiGHT BIG THANK- )

Cedrix walked through a doorway cautiously, but with a shine of excitement in his eyes. what an interesting discovery! he had been organizing his lab, and found a door that led here, wherever here was…
he didn't wander in unprepared of course, he came with as many hidden weapons as possible, along with a small kit of equipment, just in case he makes an interesting discovery. he had even done a quick test before walking in the door, to make sure the air in here wasn't poisonous to him.
he had heard voices and slowly wandered towards them, maybe if he was lucky he could get some interesting samples or subjects.

@RainClouds_Itachi_

Cedrix immediately froze mid-step, his ears having barely picked up the noise. he wasn't too worried however, just cautious. he looked towards the noise and reached into his lab coat's pocket, crumpling up a tiny useless piece of paper.
gently, he tossed it towards the noise, his goal being to see if the sound was from a human or a creature. he figured if it was an animal it would probably check out the paper thinking it might be food. unless, of course, it's really smart, in which case if it isn't human he'd want some sort of sample from it.
but he's getting ahead of himself with those thoughts, it could have been nothing.

The paper landed, and for a minute nothing happened. Then, a thin, scarred, very human arm reached out and snatched the paper, quickly pulling back into the shadows. Another pause. Then the paper was tossed back into the light, as if the person had no use for it. An angry hiss came from the darkness where the person was hiding.

Angel sighed, “It’s not like I have anything to show.” She joked. “But thank you, for your apology.” Angel honestly wanted to get out of here, but as there wouldn’t likely be anything else to do, she continued.
Her attitude had changed quite a lot…was there an explanation for this? Most likely. Maybe she adapted to whoever’s around her, like Actinolite; she’s extremely flamboyant and bouncy, that might factor into why Angel was so childlike, as the one around her had a very playful demeanor. And Zach….well, let’s just say he’s prone to outbursts…she was likely influenced by his snark. Maybe if he was a little nicer she would be too..?
Angel looked to him, then to the door, then walked over, swiping some of her hair out from her eyes. She glanced at Zach again quizzically before turning the handle and pushing it open as if it was made of cardboard, then walking in.

((yO I'M SO SORRY I DIED FOR A WHILE MY BAD-))

Cedrix's eyebrows raised in interest as he watched very carefully. so it was human…
it didn't seem what he would call 'civilized' though. "you're a strange one aren't you?" he muttered in a disappointed tone, and heaved out a sigh.
"ah, but maybe you can still be of use…"
he crouched down where he stood, and took out a small notebook, starting to write notes and draw a picture of the hand he had seen. anything to find a use for it's strange behaviors.
maybe the next batch of hybrids he makes can get something out of this encounter.

(you're fine! ^^)
The human, for her part, watched him from the shadows with a mixture of suspicion and curiosity. He didn't seem all that threatening, but it was hard to say for sure. After a minute, she decided to find out more about him.
"Is this your house?" She asked, staying well out of sight. Her voice was raspy and unfriendly, and suggested that she was still young, maybe only in her teens.
