Ronan flopped onto the ground, sighing heavily while he fell on his back. "The cat died, so there goes our narrator."

Anna sat up. "Max DIED?" She looked around, searching for the little robot.
He raised a brow from where he was laying. "When will you stop taking things Tessie and I say so seriously? We are related, y'know." He pointed at the robot cat where it seemed to stop functioning, its eyes dim. "But yeah, I think it died. Or at least deactivated."
She looked over at it. "Oh." She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, shaking her head lightly before laying back down.
(How long are we gonna drag this rp out? At least for the lab? Cuz the Cinthia I've mentioned numerous times has taken it upon herself to be Tessa's babysitter and she's gonna get worried sooner or later, and she could easily bust them out.)
(Good question. I have no idea where to take it next, but something big needs to happen to finish it off soon. Any ideas?)
(Hmmm. I have a few ideas, but most revolve around Tess's connections. Obviously, there's Cinthia and the gang. Then there's the Mafia–cuz who's gonna mess with them? The head scientist could bring in people important to those that remain and use the hostages to make them permanent slaves, and they have to come up with an explosive (heh) plan to get out with the hostages intact. Or one of them could be taken and tortured until someone gives up the "secret" to magic.)
(OH! I HAVE AN IDEA FOR THE HUMAN TRIALS! There could be some sort of defense mechanism in the way out that activates for creatures with magic, but it can’t sense humans so let’s them just walk through! Something like that where having magic becomes a disability, basically.)
(Oh! That's a good idea!)
(So I like that, but I'm thinking the overall goal of the trials from the scientist's perspective, is to find out how strong their powers are. Maybe for the goal of being able to take their powers and give them to other people, like being able to create an army by stealing the powers of others. We could do something where they start to take the powers of everyone, but since the humans don't have powers, they're able to escape or do something like that.)
(That could work. But just so you know, Tessa would essentially start dying if they did that. Her entire way of life is altered thanks to her sun-dragon. She's like a plant–lives off of sunlight and nutrients (essentially food). She doesn't have the normal human organs or systems that she should have, and if her power is taken away, then she won't have the ability to convert sunlight into energy. Her dragon/heat-core does that.)
(I'll keep that in mind, maybe as long as whatever Anna and Lacie have to do they can do quickly.)
(That works. So, I like Darkblossom's idea of a sensor of some sorts. Maybe while the magical ones are being stripped of their powers, Anna and Lacie sneak through the door the scientists accidentally left open. All throughout the lab up here would have sensors, and Anna and Lacie would essentially be invisible because they don't have magic. Maybe they need a way to power down the entire lab, stripping the scientists of their toys and freeing the others?)
(Sounds good!)
(Also, a note for Enderstorm, her powers aren’t necessarily magic based, and she is kept alive by magic, so if they started draining her they would first take away her ability to fly then kill her while she rages in terror, and then probably not be able to use the magic as it would dissipate as soon as she died. This is what happens when you have a creature literally made of magic)
(Great. Now we have two people who're gonna die.)
(Frick. Enderstorm doesn’t deserve to die. She’s had a tough enough life as it is to die at sixteen!)
(Okay, almost die)
(Though Tess probably won't fight it, considering how much she's tried to kill herself…)
(Um…hi)
(Hey)
(Don't worry, we won't let anyone really die! unless it makes the story better. I'm not opposed to some violent and emotional deaths for Anna.)
(I have no idea how to insert myself back in)
(You're Lacie, right?)
(Yeah She is)
