He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Fine." He moved away from the group. His skin cracked, then he turned into a pile of rocks. They shifted then tumbled away from each other and towards the burning forest.
Tess pouted. "Aww. I wanted to see a bunch of mini Ronans."
Anna's eyes widened as the rocks rolled away. "He turned into a rock." She stated it directly, wondering if anyone would correct her.
Tessa snorted. "He's a mountain dragon shifter. I can burst into flame, he can become and manipulate stone." She nodded at the rocks as they disappeared in the trees. "Those rocks will become mini clones of Ronan–less powerful but still have the same powers as him."
"That's pretty awesome." Anna watched the space of the woods he'd vanished into.
"While your brother takes care of the fire, please listen up." Max was back, and he seemed angry.
Tessa's somewhat amused mood instantly soured at the sight of the cat. She scowled at it without saying a word.
Enderstorm’s eyes glazed over, and she felt very faint.
"Good job coming this far, and be aware- you are the last survivors, there is no one else out there. We do hope you'll survive." He seemed to power off, his eyes dimming and his head tilting down.
(Ugh, we had to listen to this band called Attaboy for an assembly at school. They're not bad, but they're not my kind of music.)
(I'm on spring break and I have homework that I don't want to do so I've been finding ways to avoid it. Mostly laying on my bed not doing anything)
Enderstorm collapsed on the ground, panting. Her scales were clammy and cold, and she seemed very weak.
Tessa rushed over to Enderstorm. "Hey, hey, hey. Enderstorm? What's going on?"
Ronan's rock clones managed to smother the flames, leaving a smoking forest behind as they rejoined and Ronan made his way back to the group.
Enderstorm had fainted. Her scales were clammy and cold to the touch, and seemed to be a little paler than before.
(Sorry to Mother Hen in advance)
"Shit," Tessa cursed colorfully under her breath as she worried over Enderstorm. "I'm really not liking it here anymore. If only Cinthia was here…"
For once, Enderstorm was completely still in her sleep. Mercifully, she was not plagued by nightmares, and slept peacefully for the first time in years.
(I'll permit it just this once…)
Anna knelt by her, debating whether or not to wake her up. She decided to leaver her, and stood again to check the progress of the fire. It seemed to be under control, and she stood again.
Ronan, now in his bulky two-story dragon form, lumbered towards the group. His dragon was boxy and covered in thick and jagged mud brown and gray scales, which resembled rocks along a mountainside. Two large teeth poked up from his lower jaw and overlapped his upper jaw. His dark eyes were partially hidden beneath hooded brows. He was crunching on a large boulder–his latest meal.
Anna cocked her head at the rock in his mouth. "But that's… Nope, not going to ask." She turned and looked around at the trees, noticing a difference. This arena was less like a jungle. It seemed more tame, with less plants and more pine trees. They were higher, but you could see the walls on every side, circling around them. It was smaller than the arena Tess had fought in, but about the same as the first arena.
Enderstorm still lay passed out on the ground in her dragon form, snoring quietly.
Anna turned and sighed down at Enderstorm. "I'm sorry about this…" She knelt and tried to shake Enderstorm awake. "Don't make me sing…."
Ronan snorted in amusement, his wings rustling slightly as he lumbered over. HIs large and heavy tail dragged along the ground and created a shallow groove in the dirt. The boulder in his mouth was steadily being eaten.
"Wake uuuuuup." She shook Enderstorm's shoulder, wondering how angry the girl would be if Anna took more extreme measures.
Ronan dropped his destroyed bolder and nudged Enderstorm with his snout, less at risk of being harmed than Anna was.
She blinked at the scratched rock, looking from Ronan's teeth to the rock and back again. Her eyebrows slowly went up, and then back down as she sighed. "You just ripped apart a rock. With your face." What really scared her was that she wasn't even surprised.
A deep, throaty dragon-laugh escaped him as he continued to nudge Enderstorm, careful to not stab her with the teeth poking out of his bottom lip. "I'm a mountain dragon," His normal voice was deeper and seemed to resonate through the ground as he spoke–as he had not moved his mouth. "They eat rocks."
Enderstorm stayed fast asleep, not responding to their efforts to wake her.
