@MarDeColores this is not it kids
"Oh, good. They probably can't give us homework, then, right?" Miran grins.
"Oh, good. They probably can't give us homework, then, right?" Miran grins.
Gracie glances over at Miran. "Well, no, though we never get homework on the first day."
(Sorry, volleyball practice.)
"I'm liking this school. My old school gave homework on the first day." Miran shudders. "It was terrible. So… what are we going to do this period?"
(oof that's totally fine :D)
"I really don't know, I heard one of the older kids say that last time it was so chaotic and they felt bad for us second years. So I guess we just do… whatever?" Gracie answered, shrugging her shoulders.
"Huh." Miran frowns. "Well. This place is very different from my old school." He shrugs and opens his notebook to a page filled with little notes.
"Well, yeah. Unless the principal walks in, then in which case the sub will probably get scolded." Gracie remarks, nibbling on the back of the pen she had been holding. Shifting her grip on Etta's reins, she looked around.
"So… why is the sub not doing anything, anyways? Shouldn't the teacher have, I don't know, a plan for the sub or something?" Miran asks.
"It appears that, well, the teacher called in at the last moment sick," Gracie read off her phone, having pulled up the the-students-will-never-see-this log of the teachers and subs texts and call-transcriptions.
"Uh… how do you know that?" Miran looks at her phone. "What's that?"
"Yeeeah so I kinda stole the password to this site for the staff…" Gracie said guiltily, a blush creeping up her cheeks.
"You stole the password to the staff site?" Miran laughs. "Oh, that's amazing!" He frowns slightly. "What made you decide to do that?"
"Well, um, last year my third period teacher was like 10 minutes late and I was so confused but the teacher wouldn't give me an explanation so I basically stayed like 5 hours after school and then… you could probably guess the rest…" Gracie explained sheepishly.
"Wow. That's some determination." Miran scribbles something in his notebook. "All because your teacher was 10 minutes late?"
"Well, like we sent someone down to the office and everything…"
"I guess. I, personally, wouldn't do that." He grins. "I'm much happier to just sit there." Miran scribbles something else in his notebook, frowns, and erases part of it.
"Mm," Gracie gave a noise of agreement. "Anyways, I'm so curious, what are you writing over there?"
"Oh!" Miran jots something down. "Well, just thoughts. Observations. It… calms me." He shrugs, not looking at Gracie.
"Anything in there about me?" Gracie teases.
Kai closed the notebook, placing it back into his bag. He lifted it onto his shoulder and silently made his way out of the classroom. Not a single person glanced at him, not even the sub, so that made his escape easier. Why should he stick around in a classroom with no lesson? He didn't have any friends in that class to pass the time with anyway, so he took that opportunity to wander around the outside grounds. No one should notice him, but he knew that someone would.
"Perhaps," Miran says mysteriously. "Perhaps not." He smiles slightly.
"Aww do you have to be so mysterious?" Gracie asked.
"It's part of my charm." Miran smiles. "Anyway, how long are classes here? At my old school, they were 52 minutes long with a 5 minute passing period. Is it the same here?"
"55 minutes, and we only get 4 minutes of passing period rip," Gracie replied softly. "But like lunch is an hour long so…"
"Oh, good." Miran lets out a deep breath. "I love long lunches." He wrinkles his nose. "But four minutes of passing period? I'm going to be late to every single one of my classes until I can figure out where they are." He sighs. "When is this class going to end?"
