Endan sighed, defeated. "I… yes ma'am." I could, however," Endan raised his voice over the rising commotion outside, "Sir Carlson is an incredibly powerful mage. I'm sure if he wanted to hide-" a crash sounded from outside- "he would." Endan watched the guards rush out the doors after the guests. "Your highness, I believe there is a situation outside. It is more than likely not safe." Endan stood and brushed off his suit. When he looked back up, his eyes were glowing a bright blue. Frost gathered on his fingertips in sharp, crystalline fractals. "No one shall reach this ballroom." He blinked and his eyes flickered back to yellow momentarily. "May I be excused?"
Enderstorm wasn’t paying attention to Endan. She stood and ran out of the palace, shifting into her dragon form as she did so. She spread out her wings for guests to hide under, protecting them. Guards teleported out with her, swinging their spears and teleporting easily to avoid attacks.
She grabbed Dabria and Sawyer in her massive paws, dragging them to safety just outside the entrance to the palace. Foxchild had followed her, and stood in human form. He had two daggers in his hands, which glimmered blue in the faint moonlight. He crouched in an offensive stance, ready to attack. He didn’t look like it, but Foxchild used to be a well trained assassin before he was pardoned and engaged to the Empress.
Endan nodded. "I'll take that as a yes, then." He ran after the empress and her fiance, icy daggers shooting forth from his hands to form multiple small throwing knifes which he holstered. Allowing the empress room to save the surrounding innocents, he scanned the treeline, searching for any magical energy. There… "your Highness!" He called. "This was no random attack. I recognize the residual aura left in these woods." He turned to face her. "This was Sir Carlson's work."
The raven mage sensed Endan’s presence. As they realized that they are now seen, the raven mage created a thunderstorm around Endan (Similar to what they did to Sawyer). After that, both the mage and the knight moved swiftly through the forest to hide from the magic user’s sight.
Enderstorm flapped her powerful wings and flew up. She sped toward where Endan had pointed, purple flames gathering in the back of her throat. With her impeccable night vision she spotted the raven mage, breathing burning flames on it and swooping down among the fire to attack. She moved much faster in the air than you would expect, speeding about like a black lightning bolt. She lashed out with her tail and claws, slashing at the mage even though the fire blinded her. She was immune to the flames.
"AHHH!" Endan loose out a pained scream as electricity coursed through his blood. His subconscious shot to try and defend him, shard after shard of glowing white ice shooting to attack whatever was hurting him. The storm continued to rage around him until, finally, the pain consumed him. He crumpled to the ground, a thin layer of ice forming over his body as a weak last defense.
The mage lost one of his wings while flying away. The knight took the place of the mage to defend them. The mage took flew at full speed, away from the empress, breathing heavily. While flying, they activated the thunderstorm on Endan once again. The mage came out of the forest, seeing Endan…the mage charged up a blue lightning strike on their hand. Passing by Endan, the mage slightly touched his body, coursing the blue electricity through his veins, causing more pain than the thunderstorm itself. The mage retreated somewhere else.
Enderstorm annhilated the knight. She ripped it apart with her teeth and claws, chomping down on metal like it was butter. She breathed purple flames to weaken it, repeatedly bashing it and tearing at it.
The knight faded back to a crow it used to be, dead and solid. Carlsen sensed that the magic used on the crow was gone, he smiled a little. The mage’s powers were then enhanced after the knight’s death. The mage’s wing regenerated from the magic applied to them by the knight’s broken core and their electricity powers have become much stronger. Now, they’re just in silent, waiting for a chance to strike.
Enderstorm’s expression was cold as she turned back to the guests, folding her wings to her sides.
“I will personally escort you all to the nearest villages. The Enderman guards will help any wounded. If you have any questions, ask me or my advisor, Father Wick. We will make sure that none of you are harmed if there is another attack.”
Unexpectly, the mage suddenly appeared where Endan’s body was, carrying him. The mage then smiled once before disappearing with Endan’s body, leaving only a spark behind. The mage had returned somewhere in the forest, Carlsen was in front of the mage holding Endan’s body. “Good job, Raven” Carlsen said as the mage bowed once before jumping up on a big tree near them. Carlsen looked at Endan, he was smiling behind his mask as he kneeled down beside Endan’s body. He was most likely waiting for Endan to be conscious again.
Pain. It was the first, and possibly only thing Endan could register. As his conscious slowly drained back into his body, he struggled to move even the smallest limb. Though the concentration caused splitting aches to ricochet through his skull, he found that he could move his fingers ever so slightly. He curled his pinkies into his palms, gently releasing his magic back through his own body. He let out a sigh of relief as his magic bonded and healed the fried cells within him. After a few minutes, he trusted himself to be healed well enough to at least open his eyes. Slowly cracking open his eyelids, he was met with… black. A shot of panic ran through him as the idea that he was blind flitted through his brain. After a few seconds, however, his eyes adjusted enough to make out the outline of tree branches swaying in the dark.
'Ah,' he thought to himself, 'it is only dark outside.' He chuckled, half relief and half hysteria, but quickly cut himself off when he noticed a human shaped silhouette shifting near him. Turning his head, he stared into the face of this potential threat until…
"Carlsen?"
“Hey there…”
Carlsen said as he took off his mask. He smiled so peacefully like he meant no harm towards Endan.
“I’m terribly sorry that Raven made you fell unconscious and I’m being sincere” he said while smiling. “I’ll heal you as my apology” he said to Endan before hovering his right above his body, showing a green symbol, recovering his body to a usable state.
“Though I’ve got to say, you have quite a useful ability…Frost, is it?” He said before turning away. “…Mind if I use it…?” He said as he turned back towards Endan, his right hand covering his right eye, smiling sinisterly while his left eye widened like a sociopath.
Endan stumbled back in fear, scooting away from Carlson. "I'm really not sure it's transferable, old sport," he bluffed, his eyes darting around for escape routes. Seeing none he could get to without having to fight the other mage, he looked up into Carlson's face. "You don't have to do this. If you leave the realm now I'm sure the empress wouldn't be able to find you." Though his mind was screaming at him to scramble away, he stood and faced the malevolent young man. "If you're in danger, Faltur, I'm sure I can help you. You mustn't be afraid to seek help."
“Oh…I’m not trying to take it from you…” he took his right hand off from covering his eye. It revealed a dark red iris, the same color as when he turned the crow and the raven into the knight and the mage. “I’m just wanting you to use it for my sakes…” After saying that, a crimson red colored sphere surrounds Endan’s body, slowly closing in on him. Parts of his body the touch the sphere will be corrupted.
(Sorry, the last sentence should be “Parts of his body that touch the sphere will be corrupted”)
Endan's eyes widened as a shock-wave of dark energy radiated off the sphere surrounding him. As it quickly began to close in, he blasted at it with shards of ice, to no avail. "Carlson!" He yelled to the mage. "Don't do this!" He tried to push the sphere away from himself but screamed, the corruption covering his hands, his arms, and finally his entire body until he was entirely consumed by the dark mass. His eyes faded from the bright blue they'd taken from his use of magic to a darkened red.
Before Endan could have taken advantage of the enhancement, Carlsen muttered “Shikiru”. After the word was said, substances that look like puppet strings burst out of his hand, piercing through presumably every inch of Endan’s body. His actions are now in Carlsen’s control (mostly). Carlsen tested this by having him freeze the tree near him…and it worked. Endan’s body fired shards of crimson colored ice at the tree, freezing it whole. Carlsen smiled before saying to Endan…
“Welcome to the family…”
(is Endan still able to think for himself? or are his thoughts influenced too? also, can he talk?)
(He can think for himself and speak as himself, but ‘most’ of his actions, mainly in battles, are controlled by Carlsen :P. Outside of battles, he has his body for himself, unless you try to attack Carlsen, I’ll tell what will happen to Endan if he does that later)
(thanks lol. back to it!) Endan gaped first at the crimson frost layering his fists and then at Carlson. "What… what in nether did you do it me?"
“It’s corruption Endan” he said in a satisfying voice. “You’re body is mostly in my control now” he smiled like a psychopath while his eye turned back to light blue. “You should be thankful, as I’ve enhanced your ability. Your Frost ability is now able to drain your foes’ life and give you energy when they’re hit by the ice. Isn’t that just…wonderful…?” He said with his hands behind his back. “But of course, you have a mind of your own. So, I can’t possibly can full control of your body……or do I…?” Carlsen said with a sinister grin. The sarcasm in his voice is too clear for one to not hear.
Enderstorm was flying just above the group of people on their way to the nearest village, where the resident guards could get them all home. Many of her own guards were teleporting about as they followed, making sure everyone was alright. Dabria and Sawyer had been strapped to her back to carry until they awoke, and Enderstorm was wishing she hadn’t offered to carry them.
