Carlsen listened closely to the hallways, making sure it is safe to turn back into his normal state. He heard nothing. He tapped the white part of his mask, turning him back to his tangible form. He stepped around the room as he was getting something out of his suit. A clear marble was placed on the ground as he chanted the word “Kyushu Shimasu”… The marble started to absorb the blood in the room, containing them in itself. The marble is fully filled, he kept it in his suit and left the room, forgetting he was in his visible form…
One of the creatures teleported into the room just as Carlsen opened the door, and gasped out loud in a distinctly warped voice. Two guards standing outside the door immediately grabbed onto Carlsen’s arms, restraining him expertly.
“What were you doing in the Empress’s room?” Said the one on the left as they dragged him through the hall to an unknown room.
(would you mind giving me a overview of what's happened so far?)
(I’ll let Dark explain, it’s been kinda hecktic lol. For my character at least :P)
(Empress Enderstorm abruptly left the party, screaming in pain, and was carried off to her room. After that, screams continued to sound throughout the palace, but stopped after two or three minutes. Carlsen and one other person tried to rush to the Empress, but guards stopped them before they made too much of a scene. Carlsen is now being carried away as he was found snooping in the Empress’s room after she left. The Empress has rejoined the party, though seemingly weaker than before. She also has faint traces of blue blood still in her silver hair and inside her ears.)
(Yes, her dragon form would not have hair)
(Also, it would be extremely impractical for a party)
Dabria entered the ballroom, very late. Sawyer was at her side, looking uncomfortable. Compared to Dabria's green knee-length dress, cloak and crown, they were in a dark purple suit with an untied bowtie.
"I can't believe you made us late and didn't even tie your tie," Dabria huffed at them, rolling her eyes.
"I didn't want to come so I didn't make a note of when it started, and the tie is part of the look," Sawyer retorted. "Now can we greet the Empress so I can eat food and do my best to avoid social interaction?"
"The only reason we're in this kingdom is to be here! I'm a busy princess, I don't go to every party. Our kingdoms are very friendly, Chimere couldn't go so it's right that I do."
"It's not even a big party…"
Dabria rolled her eyes. "I know. It didn't seem like such a big thing but the Queen insisted, but at least we don't have a half dozen guards trailing us."
Sawyer grumbled in response but quieted down when the pair approached the Empress and bowed. Dabria extended a hand in greeting.
"Empress Enderstorm, good to see you again."
The Empress nodded and smiled at Dabria.
“It’s not often we get foreigners here in the Three Dimensions. So good of you to come! This is Foxchild, my fiancé,” she says, gesturing to the man beside her. He had orange hair and green eyes, and a very athletic physique. He had very cunning features that remind you of a fox.
“Hello,” he says curtly. He puts a protective arm around Enderstorm’s waist.
"Pleased to meet you," Dabria says. "I would introduce my friend here, but I'm sure they would rather introduce themself."
Sawyer nods. "I would indeed. I'm Sawyer, an advisor for Dabria of sorts." Their physique suggests they are male, but their face seems feminine. Alongside a short hairstyle and men's style clothing, their female mannerisms such as tucking hair behind their ears and placing their hands on their hips confuse others of what gender they are.
Sawyer waves to the royalty and hurried away to the food, quickly picking out their favorites.
Enderstorm takes a sip of the purply-red wine in her hand, and walks away to speak to another guest, Foxchild trailing close behind.
While the latecomers were coming in and the Empress was out, Carlsen is struggling to let the guards release him. He didn’t say much, just inaudible sounds. A symbol appeared on his hand as he remembered that one spell (magic) can let him out of this situation easily. As the guards opened the door to the room, Carlsen closed his eyes. Only to open again with pure white and gold irises, chanting “Nemuri”!! Not a second after, the guards fell into a lost of thought and fainting state. He quickly tapped the white part of his mask before anyone could see him.
Running towards the ballroom, he opened the doors, his clothes changed color back to his normal navy blue robe with golden and white lapels. His eyes turned back to light blue as it used to be. His black/dark gray scarf and his glasses remained the same. Now he is looking for a way to exit quietly without guards following him, as he is sure that when the guards that caught him wake up, he’s done for. Only 15 minutes (not real time, that would just be too hard) remain before the spell’s effect will run out.
Carlsen is also aware of another problem. Guests in the party who are magic users will sense his aura easily, since it is practically the only magic aura that is from a Phantom entity. Even though he’s currently invisible, his aura is not.
After being searched, scavenged and thoroughly violated, the guards allowed Endan to return back to the party after confiscating a few throwing knifes and a few small potions. Endan not only welcomed the release, he needed it. After Carlsen had slipped away, he'd felt the pulsing of magic energy throughout the whole of the castle and was quite concerned for the fellow's well being.
'Not because I've grown attached to him,' he attempted to reason with himself. 'No, I just wish to answer his question.'
Leaving the room the guards had unceremoniously dumped him in, he returned back to the party to immediately sense a familiar energy.
Carlsen.
His aura was almost all consuming (though only because Endan was looking for it). He began tracking it to it's source, weaving his way through party-goers and serfs alike until he reached… someone. He paused for a beat and took in this seemingly stranger's features. He looked very different, but it took only a glimpse at those striking eyes to find that… yes, indeed, it was Carlsen. He opened his mouth to call out but stopped himself just short, realizing that if the fellow mage was disguised, he would more than appreciate not being revealed. Instead, Endan quietly approached him and tugged on his sleeve.
"Faltur, what on earth are you doing?" he whispered.
Carlsen was scared, he turned around and it was Endan. He sighed in relief. “Look, we’re not here for the same purpose. I’ve done what I came here to do and I’m leaving soon” Carlsen whispered to Endan. “Also…one more thing” he said in a shaking voice. He grabbed onto Endan’s shoulder, transfering a red symbol onto him. “Take the blame for me now…thanks…” He said to Endan before walking away back into the crowd, most likely heading to the exit.
(Carlsen cursed Endan with the red symbol. The symbol will change the appearance and voice of the cursed one to look exactly like a duplicate of the owner of the symbol with the cursed one knowing. In this case, everyone will see Endan as Carlsen, while he still sees himself as…himself. This effect has a time limit and can’t be reduced or negated.)
Endan blinked at Carlsen's retreating form for a moment before chasing after him through the crowd. "Now, wait just a moment old sport, I don't understan-" Endan's protests were cut short upon being tackled to the ground by nearby guards. "Ah! What in nether are you doing?!" Endan fought the guard's restraints as they tethered him to the ground, magic chains binding him. The surrounding party goers shrieked and scrambled about, rushing to get away from the commotion. "Carlsen! Carlsen, please!" Endan pleaded after Carlsen's retreating form, thrashing wildly to attempt to escape his binds. Endan heard a scream -perhaps his own- before a splitting pain to his head and a fade to black.
Not looking back or paying attention to Endan, Carlsen exited through the hallways. Dropping an envelope with a pair of swords symbol, colored gold and navy blue, similar to Carlsen’s clothing. (I’ll let either the Empress, the Old man or Endan pick this up) He did heard Endan screaming, he did feel guilty. Of course, he’s able to turn things back to what it used to be. A similar red symbol that appears on Endan’s shoulder appeared on Carlsen’s hand. He touched it and muttered the word…”Gyaku Maho”. As he finishes, he is standing in the outdoors, like he was waiting for something.
On the other hand, Endan’s red symbol disappeared. What Carlsen used was a reversal magic, changing things or people back to the way they were. Endan has now turned back to his actual body.
(Quick note, the guards aren’t magic users, and most likely wouldn’t knock him out, so I’m just going with Endan is being held onto the floor by four guards right now, still very much awake.) The Empress turned to see the commotion, and a guard spoke to her, informing her of the problem. She nodded, and shifted into her dragon form. Silver spines sprouted from her back, and her white skin turned to black scales. Her reptilian violet eyes blazed in anger, her pupil narrowing to a small slit as she morphed. Her belly was a deep purple that matched her eyes, and she spread out her wings imposingly, making the guest back away.
“What is your name, prisoner, and what were you doing in my private rooms?” she snarled, sparks and blue blood flying out of her mouth like spit as she spoke.
(I’ve just changed it, thanks for the info :P)
Endan stared up at Empress Enderstorm's daunting form, terrified. "Empress, please, I don't understand what's going on." As he spoke, Endan slowly melted back into his own body. "I was afraid for you, I thought you were cursed so of course I chased after you; I'm ever allegiant to her highness! I am a mage, I thought I could help, but I got caught and- oh, but I was re-released into the party! I am ever so sorry for causing a ruckus." He continued his terrified babble for a few more moments as he transformed into his own form: short, with styled dark hair and dark yellow eyes.
The Empress stared at him.
“You lie. If you were truly from the Three Dimensions you would know of my disease. But I do believe that someone has tricked us. Your form has changed. Do you know of any other “mages” that were here? My people do not regularly use magic.” Smoke and purple sparks were streaming from her mouth, and Foxchild had come up behind her in fox form, sniffing at Endan’s feet.
“He was definitely not in your room, your Majesty. I do not smell any blood anywhere on him.”
(Just a reminder, don’t forget the envelope Carlsen dropped in the hallways :P)
Endan stared at Foxchild as he continued. "I… no ma'am, I am not from these realms. I apologize for not making that clear sooner." He attempted to bow in apology, though the most he could manage through the chains was a slight nod. "I hail from the nation Alsteinthern. You're highly revered there as an excellent ruler. It's an honor to meet you. As for other mages, ah…" Endan hesitated. "No. None that I could tell."
