Foxchild sniffs him again.
“I smell fear. You are lying,” Foxchild says, narrowing his eyes. One of the guards comes up to the Empress, holding the envelope in his pitch black hand. The dragon looked to the guests, and raised her voice as she spoke.
“The party is over. Please exit, everyone. I must investigate this intrusion immediately.” The guests began filing out slowly, guards teleporting in and making sure they left in a an orderly fashion. More servants came in, carrying a table and some chairs. One of the chairs was made of pure obsidian, and a black and purple banner of the Third Dimension, the Empress’s birthplace, was draped over it. She shifted into her human form and sat in the throne. Endan was strapped to a chair across from her, four guards standing beside him.
Sawyer and Dabria immediately ran towards the commotion. “What’s happening here?” Dabria asked the empress.
“Please leave the palace immediately. Someone was found in my private rooms, and we must investigate this situation.” A guard gently began leading Dabria and Sawyer away, nudging them toward the massive dragon-sized double doors.
Of course, Carlsen would be looking to see how things are turning out. His very dark navy blue and black scarf blends in with the night. He is currently on the highest part of the palace and standing while looking at the sky. His hand was holding another envelope with the same dual swords symbol. He saw the first group of guests coming out, he dropped the envelope before his wings come out.
Endan swallowed nervously and watched as the room emptied of guests. "Your highness…" he began, but he couldn't think of anything he could say without getting into more trouble.
Foxchild, still in fox form, jumped up on the table, sitting down by Endan so he could sniff for fear. He grimaced.
“You are absolutely terrified. Ugh.” The Empress rolled her eyes, smiling slightly at Foxchild, before composing herself and looking back at Endan.
A guard handed her the envelope, and she opened it, reading the contents. Father Wick, old man, suddenly teleported in, sitting in a seat to Enderstorm’s left.
(The Letter :
Greetings your highness,
As you are aware by now I’m one of the guests in this party. I’ve come from a kingdom faraway from this palace. Not being able to tell you who I am, is a shame for indeed. I would just like you to think about somethings…as follows…
1) Have you heard of the name “The Phantom Kingdom”
2) Are you familiar with the symbol [dual swords: gold and navy blue] on the envelope
3) Have you ever “accidentally” or “intentionally” destroy a kingdom during a fight or war…?
Yours Truly,
‘Messenger of the Dead’)
Enderstorm was very puzzled by the letter.
“Father Wick, I would like for you to take this letter and tell me what you think of it,” she said, handing the paper to the old humanoid creature that sat next to her. He nodded, and examined the letter, rereading during the ensuing trial.
“Now, tell what your name is, sir,” she said, folding her hands in her lap as she spoke to Endan.
"I am Endan Randrat, your highness. It is an honor to meet you, even under these conditions." He smiled self deprecatingly and blew a loose hair from his face.
“Your Majesty, him and another mage were trying to get to you after you were removed from the ballroom, and we searched him and found numerous weapons. Later, the other mage was found inside your room right after you had gone back down, the servants asleep from some gas or spell. He was quickly restrained, but used magic to escape. Here is one of the guards who saw him,” said one of the guards, pointing to another one who seemed to be slightly older.
“The man looked very different from the one who sits in front of us now. I believe that he may have used magic to make this poor human look like him, and escaped among the other guests when we began the trial. I have take the liberty to send some guards to scour the palace and surrounding forest for the man.” Enderstorm nodded, satisfied, and motioned for the guards to remove the chains keeping Endan in place.
“Please stay a bit longer for questioning, Sir Randrat.”
"Of course, your highness." Upon having the chains removed from wrists, Endan flexed them experimentally and set them gingerly upon his lap, where they naturally began fiddling with the golden buttons of his suit. As he awaited questioning, he watched as the guard and other castle staff buzzed through the room like a well-oiled machine.
'She seems to be just the strong leader we've been told of,' his mind whispered to him, 'and yet, she appears to be ill.'
“Do you think you could identify the other mage if you saw him?” She asked, keeping her face neutral, though inside she was still aching from the bleeding fit.
The sounds of the crows and the ravens filled the sky. Carlsen held his arm up. One of the crows and one of the ravens flew down and stood on his arm. He’d look at them, his eyes have turned crimson red. The apperance of the crow and the raven started to change… soon after, cries emerge from the forest where some of the guards were sent to, followed by corpses thrown out of forest. Carlsen watches as his new “temporary” creations are born.
The crow was turned into a humanoid knight, with full black armor, wings and is equipped with a chain sword covered in black flame. The raven was turned into a humaniod mage, with a gray uniform, wings (as well) and uses electricity as their power. They are now causing havoc in the forest.
(Idk when to jump back in)
(I can make the crow and the raven attack the crowd your characters are in, if you’d like that :P)
(Sure, whatever works, I just want to use Sawyer more)
Corpses from the forest were thrown near the crowds coming out of the palace. A lightning strike followed, nearly hitting the crowd. The knight and the mage flew down towards the crowd and started “attacking” the guests.
Sawyer's eyes widened and nudged Dabria to alert her of the attacks.
"Yeah, I seem it," She said, twin swords materializing in her hands. The princess removed her cloak and tossed it to Sawyer, then ran towards the winged humanoid, hacking at them skillfully.
As for Sawyer, they stood nearby for any sign where their magic could be of assistance.
The crow knight blocked some of her attacks, but ended up with some openings through the armor. As raven mage saw Sawyer, and quickly casted a thunder storm around them, blocking their view and electrocuting them in the process. The crow knight got some direct hits on the princess, but they are now quite exhausted and is full of openings. Regardless, the priness is now, to some degree, burned by the fire cursed on the blade.
(Forgot to mention that these two “creations” don’t have a mind of their own. Their weak points are the same, which are the cores inside them. The knight’s core is equivalent to the human heart, the mage’s core is equivalent to the human brain.)
Sawyer screamed as the electricity coursed through their body. They attempted to use their power to no avail.
"Why don't… these things have minds?" They shouted, attempting to cover themself with Dabria's cloak. The princess's burns yelled at her to stop moving, but instead, she swapped her swords for a lightweight sythe, swinging it at the knight from a farther away distance.
The scythe got a full direct hit on the crow knight’s headgear, knocking it off completely. The knocked off helm revealed a red light coming from the body armor. Despite that, the knight still moved swiftly, parried the scythe the princess held and slashed the princess’s arm. The raven mage continued to shock Sawyer, now to higher degrees, increasing the voltage and frequency in which damages the nervous system and magic circuit of them. The mask that the mage wore made them look even more sinister. After that attack, the raven mage appeared behind Dabria. Touching her shoulder and saying in a chilly voice “Pleased to meet you…Princess Dabria…” before coursing high levels of electricity into her veins.
(These warriors can’t kill, no matter how lethal their attacks are. They are only here to be the appetizers, so to speak. However, when one of them is killed, the other(s) will become stronger. So, choose wisely on which one you want to send back to hell first.)
Sawyer crumpled to the ground, their body taking too much. Dabria yelped when her arm got slashed and she attempted to whip around to get a look at the person behind her before the electricity was shocked through her veins. "Who… are… you? Why are you.. doing this?" She grunted out, switching her sythe for a dagger and swiping at her attacker.
The mage leaned back, dodging the attack. “Our master’s orders are absolute.” The mage replied before tapping Dabria’s forehead to release electricity into her brain, making her fall down to the ground like Sawyer. Kneeling down beside Sawyer, the raven mage grabbed their neck and shock them to a very high voltage, leaving a burned mark on their neck. The crow knight stood beside Dabria as the raven mage was doing that. Afterwards, they’d look at each other. They both spreaded their wings and flew back to the forest before the guards can catch up to them.
