“Solstice.” She looks at her ears, “Are your ears okay?”
“Solstice.” She looks at her ears, “Are your ears okay?”
Enderstorm’s eyes widened for a second before she regained her composure.
“I’m fine,” she said. Her words slurred together a tiny bit, as she was getting a little drunk from the cup of wine she had.
“Umm, okay.” Sol wasn’t one to question, instead she grabbed two small glasses of wine, “Do you want some your majesty?”
Enderstorm nodded.
“Thank you, Solstice.” She took a sip of the song wine(that’s what it’s called, it’s also very sweet tasting), then waved over Foxchild, who was joking with guard.
“Your Majesty, Don’t you think you’ve had a little too much wine? You’ve already had two glasses, and the party just started,” Foxchild muttered to Enderstorm, barely loud enough for Solstice to hear.
“Of course not, Foxy-boy. I’m just fine.” Enderstorm said, rather loudly.
Solstice stood quietly then spoke up, “Is…is something wrong?”
Foxchild whispered to Solstice.
“She’s just a little drunk.”
“Oh…so did I make a mistake by giving the drink to her? I’m sorry.” Solstice murmured looking down at her dress
Foxchild shook his head as Enderstorm went off to speak to someone else.
“No, she would get drunk anyway. That’s her way of dealing with her problems. Im Foxchild, by the way.”
She looked back up, “Okay. Nice to meet you Foxchild I’m Solstice
Foxchild opened his mouth to speak, but stopped as a shrill shriek sounded throughout the room. Behind Solstice Empress Enderstorm was shaking, slowly stumbling into Foxchild’s arms. Blue blood is pouring out of her ears and nose, and streaming down her face in tears. Foxchild curses under his breath and pulls her toward a door, quicky exiting the room. A few moments later, you hear a muffled roar from somewhere else in the palace.
(It's okay if I join, yeah?)
(Sure, just pop your character into the middle of the party. Also, if they aren’t mostly humanoid, please describe what they look like.)
A humanoid figure flew down appearing in front of the main entrance. He wears a half black and half white mask, only the top half of his face is present through the mask. As he continues to walk towards the ballroom, he looks down as the invitation card while his wings disappear. He has now entered the ballroom.
Stumbling forward from the crowd, a man donned in a dark blue suit with golden lapels ran towards the doors the empress had been evacuated from. As the guards stopped his ascent, he yelled out, still pushing to reach the doors. "Can't you see, you fools? Your empress is in trouble! You must let me through-" he shoved a guard away and tried again to reach the doors- "I am a mage! If she is cursed then I may be able to help her." His eyes flashed with panic as he was dragged further from the doors, back towards the party.
As the mage was pushed away, the masked man tapped on the white part of his mask, turning him invisible. While the guards and the crowd were distracted, he stepped passed the doors, heading towards the spirit energy of the empress…but the mage noticed him.
"You, fellow!" the mage yelled out to the masked man, attempting to grab his attention. "You seem to be a fellow magician. Tell them to unhand me at once!" The guards followed his gaze and saw nothing but open air. The mage used their distraction to force through, sprinting passed the door's threshold and slamming them shut behind him. Clapping his hands together once, he creased his eyebrows in concentration and muttered, "cincinno". Turning, he searched the long hallway for the invisible masked man.
The masked man leaped down from the ceiling, landing on his feet in front of the mage. Bowing down once, he said in a clear voice “Greetings Fellow Magic User”. Not a second after he finished his sentence, he held his right hand up towards the large doors, locking them with seemingly unbreakable and invisible chains that only he and other magic users can see. “You are going to the empress as well, am I right?” He asked the mage while tapping the black part of his mask.
The mage recovered from his shock and coughed, a red tint beginning to form over his cheeks and ears. "Why yes, I suppose so." Straitening his posture, he lifted his chin and raised a gloved hand to shake. "Endan Randrat. A pleasure to make your acquaintance."
The masked man lowered his mask, now his face is fully visible. He has a rather very young face compared to an average mage. “Carlsen Faltur, pleasure to meet you” he said as he shook Endan’s hand.
Screams still raged through the hallways. The guards teleported in a puff of purple dust in front of the to men.
“No one is to go to the Empress right now. Please return to the party. She most likely be back soon.” The guard spoke in a strange, warped accent, struggling to master the tongue of the strangers. All four guards gently herded the men towards the door.
Endan glared back at the guards but chose not to argue, their gentleness catching him off guard.
After getting herded out, Carlsen looked around the party and his invitation letter. He looked at Endan, asking him “Were you given one of these as well?” He seemed to suspect something was not right about the letters.
The screams became fainter after a few minutes, before eventually stopping. Many of the guests looked worried, and one or two left the party.
Endan's brow creased at the quiet. "Now that you mention it…" he reached into his pocket and retrieved a neatly folded invitation. "I did, and quite recently too. I found it quite odd that they were received to us so late, though I suppose the palace is quite busy."
