Dabria's eyes shot open immediately when she woke up. She was tied down, and was flying in the air. The princess took this all on and started thrashing, waking Sawyer.
"What? When? Ow…" they grumbled, still in pain from the electric shocks.
Carlsen left Endan with the Raven mage as he floated with his aura relatively close to where the empress is. But since he isn’t in his actual clothes, no one (yes, including Father Wick) recognizes him. He just floated around, looking at Sawyer, the princess, the empress and the guests getting escorted. He smiled a little while in mid-air and floated down a little closer towards Dabria, Sawyer and the empress.
“Stop thrashing. You’re safe. If you keep moving around like that, I might drop you, and I’m not so good at catching people midair.” Enderstorm slowed down a little to let Dabria adjust her body into a proper riding position.
Endan watched as Carlson gave a leary grin and launched himself into the air. "No. NO! Come back!" Endan chased after him for a few feet until his body jerked to a stop, his legs rooting him to the spot. "God DAMN it!" He yelled, frustrated tears falling from his face. He dragged himself back with his hands for a few moments before his legs allowed him to move again.
'I can't escape, nor can I fight…'
Endan glanced at the unmoving figure of the mage and, against his better judgment, approached him. "You there. You were the one who electrocuted me, were you not? I believe you owe me some explanation as for what is going on here."
The mage sighed a little before replying. “I suppose I do” the mage said as he leaned back against a tree.
“I’m not going to tell you his intentions, that’s better said by him. Though I can indeed tell you what’s happening with your body. You were, as Carlsen puts in his words, Corrupted. You are now a puppet tied to your puppeteer by a million or so invisible ‘soul strings’. Most of your actions are controlled by him. But fortunately for you, you still have your mind and voice with you. Plus, Carlsen is indeed a really powerful mage as you said once, your ability has been enhanced…or rather ‘Corrupted’ as well. Unfortunately for you though, if you were to attack Carlsen when you have your body back a little bit…”
The mage took a pause to walk up close to Endan.
“The ‘soul strings’ will pull your soul and magic circuit right out of body and leave nothing but a lifeless corpse…”
The raven mage then returned to lean on a tree, presumably waiting for Endan’s responses.
By the time the mage finished, Carlsen appeared back beside the mage. Amidst a cloud of white smoke, Carlsen has most likely teleported back instead of flying back.
“I’ll let you go back to the Empress and the rest for now. But not a word to anyone about what happened to you.” After finishing the sentence, Carlsen drifted his hands back as the layer of corruption on Endan’s body was returned to his hand.
“Return now, or I might change my mind and use my ‘other ability’ on you…”
(Something to note, in case some of you were wondering. Carlsen has 3 abilities [sorta], and he can switch between each one, depending on the colors of his eye. His natural eye color is Light Blue or Sky Blue. Seen before…Red is “Corruption”. The other two colors are Navy Blue and Gold. While the invisibility he can use, is an ability given by the mask he wears :P)
Endan glared at Carlson and stared him full in the face, squaring his chin and trying not to shake from fear. "You will not get away with this." A beat passed… until Endan composed himself again. He brushed off his shirt and frowned, before snapping his fingers and materializing his suit jacket back over his button-up. "Then I shall be off." He glanced back at Carlson, almost sadly, before retreating back into the woods, nothing to stop him now. Once he was out of eye-sight, tears began silently falling down his face.
'Oh, how magic corrupts the minds of men'
Carlsen smiled looking as Endan retreats…not long after tears began rolling down his face. He held something so tightly in his hands as he silently kneels on to the ground. The amulet he held had a photograph inside which he stared at…and at that moment, he said something while was still in contact with Endan’s circuit (Endan can hear it) “I’m sorry for our past brother…this time…you will not be hurt again…” as he takes a pause and a deep breath…
“I promise”
Finished the sentence he closed the amulet and closed the connection to Endan’s magic circuit. Now, he is studying the structure of the forest as he walks around while the raven mage is looking out for foes.
Enderstorm had reached the first village, and landed, letting her passengers slide off her wing. She now just needed to stay here for protection as her guards helped everyone find a place to stay, then she could sleep - she looked up at the sky, and realized that it was almost sunrise, when she would have to leave for the Second Dimension. She groaned quietly, sitting down in her dragon form to wait out the next few hours.
The hours blurred together until Endan was sure he'd been walking for weeks. Carlson's last remarks echoed in his mind.
"I’m sorry for our past brother…this time…you will not be hurt again…"
Endan sighed and stared as soft snowflakes fell around him, his foul mood causing their decent. He held out his hands and watched them swirl around his fingertips, dancing on the palm of his hands like young children.
"I promise." He whispered. Whether he spoke to them, Carlson, or himself, he did not know. Currently, he was focused on trying to determine where he was going. Though he felt in control of his body, he felt an almost unnatural pull towards… well, something. More than likely the Empress.
–
It took roughly thirty minutes more for him to reach the village in which the Empress resided. By the time he'd arrived, he was so exhausted he was sure he'd fall over at any moment. It was not difficult to locate the empress, as her magnificent draconic form was difficult to miss. Stopping in front of her, he sank into a deep bow, his legs shaking. "Y…your highness."
Enderstorm winced at the improper title, but ignored it.
“Where have you been? Did you follow us on foot?” She asked, almost motherly. She lifted up a wing for him to climb under as temporary shelter from the cold of early morning.
He shivered from both pain and the cold, crawling under Enderstorm's wing. "Yes, ma'am. After I was electrocuted, they took me, and-" Endan pressed his nails into his palms, remembering Carlson's warning.
"I might change my mind and use my ‘other ability’ on you…"
"I… I can't say more, your majesty."
Enderstorm asked no further questions, though did resolve to question Endan when they were booth more well rested.
Some time has passed, the stars were starting to disappear and appeared a brighter sky, the dawn is near. But not long after the sight, came the sound…one of the villages was struck with blue lightning bolts, burning and turning the whole village into ash. A humanoid figure in a coat stood still as the lightning continues. After the attack was finished, the figure placed down a clear marble (similar to what Carlsen used in the Empress’ room), he they activated it. The marble doesn’t seem to absorb anything, it just becomes…gray like smoke. But through the eyes of dark entities, the souls of the people are now stored in the marble. Afterwards, a spark could be seen replacing the figure as they disappeared.
(P.S. The village that was attacked wasn’t the one the Empress was in)
(Okay this has become what I wanted to avoid but whatever)
Enderstorm tried her best not to close her eyes, but a few minutes later she found herself sound asleep, Endan still under her extended wing.
(Do you want me to delete it? I can actually do it since I have another route I could take :P)
(That’s not what I meant, I mean this has become a normal RP when it was supposed to just be a casual character chat)
(Oh…Just saying, it changed to a normal roleplay since somewhere around page 4 XP)
(even so, it's one of the best rp's ive ever gotten the pleasure of contributing to)
(I’m putting so much pressure on your character as well, hope you don’t mind @Kev (`・∀・´) )
(Thank you @Kev! That means a lot to me as a lot of my RPs die pretty quickly)
(Honestly, @Darkblossom, this is one of the best for me as well. I’m having a great time using my story’s good guy as a bad guy (´・ω・`) [Plus, I honestly think that this chat, is probably better being a RP])
(Well then, let’s get to it!)
Father Wick teleported by Enderstorm, lightly tapping her shoulder. She didn’t react. He shook her a little bit, which was surprisingly difficult as she was easily four times his size in dragon form. Finally, he shouted into her ear, and she bolted upright, wings and tail outstretched, and looked around with wild eyes, fire gathering in the back of her throat. Slowly, she remembered where she was and sheepishly crouched back down. The sun had just risen, bathing the grassy meadow in sunlight.
