Porta whirled around and pointed to the other girl. "Same with you, actually. I trusted you guys with my name, so care to give yours?"

Adriana took another lazy step forward. "My name's Adriana. You can call me Adri for now, and I'll ride in the van. Not because I need to, I could fly. I just want to figure out how much I can rely on all of you." She pulled back her hair with one hand, blinking her dark grey eyes around the room.
Tess shrugged. "Call me Blaize."
Taran shrugged. "You already know what my alias is, so…"
“Okie dokie! I saw a McDonald’s a few blocks west, wanna head there? I don’t really know any better options.”
"Sounds good." Well, not good exactly, but Adriana wasn't picky.
Tess have a thumbs up. "I'm game. See ya losers there." With that, she saluted with a wink and summoned large, golden, armored wings and flew away. The powerful gust created by her wings unsettled the dust and dirt on the ground.
Adriana coughed slightly, annoyed. "Let's go."
Porta popped into the driver’s seat. “You can take shotgun!” She called to Adri.
Tessa was soaring through the air, and she soon spotted the McDonald's. She grinned. "Bingo."
Adri gave a rough grin and swung herself into shotgun, leaning back against the door to look around at everyone and watched them closely through her eyelashes.
Porta started the engine and the aging van grumbled to life. “McDonald’s, here we come!” She said to Adri, a small smirk on her face.
Adri shook her head slightly. She tried so hard not to like people, but something about other people made her happy when she was around them. "Can't wait."
Tessa landed on a tall building next to the McDonald's, dismissed her wings, then jumped down and strolled over to it. She leaned against the wall next to the entrance to wait for the others, discarding the suspicious-looking cloth and folding her arms over her chest.
Once the van was parked, Adri stretched and let herself fall out of the van. She walked over to Tessa, her pace long and controlled.
Tessa didn't bother with niceties and just headed on in without a word. She was starving.
(Quick note, Tess isn't built like normal people. She's a sun dragon shapeshifter, so she basically only needs a plentiful amount of sunlight, water, and food to survive. Letting you know because she's gonna be hungry all the time.)
Adri followed her, already scanning the menu. She lined up right behind Tess, fishing a small bundle of money out of her pocket.
Once it was Tessa's turn to order, she got a whopper, large fry, and two mcflurries. She paid for herself with a flirtatious smile directed at the teen cashier, moving along with an exaggerated sway of her hips.
Adria shook her head at Tessa, moving up to order three chocolate shakes, without whipped cream, and seven orders of French fries. She payed quickly, moving along to wait for her food. She pulled a large plastic bag dotted with salt out of a pocket and held it loosely.
Tessa stuck her tongue out thoughtfully as she surveyed the restaurant. "Hell, I've worked here before," she realized.
"You've worked at mcdonalds?" Adri asked incredulously as they waited for food.
"This one, yeah. When I was fifteen." She swirled her hand in the air. "The manager took great care of the local street rats. Gave us part-time jobs to help us live."
"That's awesome." Adri shifted her weight to her other foot. "How old are you? I'm fifteen right now."
"Nineteen."
Adri nodded, determined not to let the age difference daunt her.
"So," Tess started, flashing a smirk. "Any sob story as to why you're tangled up with your particular group?" She was referring to the Hunters.
Adri broke a harsh laugh. "it's too complicated. Let's just say I found out my parents adopted me from their cousins, and my grandpa was an insane psychopath who tried to take over the world. Then my little adopted sister tried to kill me with her mind reading junk, and now I'm showing my whole not biological family how much I don't need them."
"At least you had a family growing up," Tessa pointed out.
She dipped her head, conceding the point. "They were pretty amazing, until they weren't." Adri's food came, and she poured each cup of French fries into the bag. The chocolate shakes, still in their little container, to be balanced on her left arm.
Tess's food had arrived at the same time, and she grabbed hers. She popped a few fries in her mouth, then grabbed the bag with her teeth while she had a mcflurry in each hand. She headed outside and sat on the sidewalk without hesitation, pulling out her food and chowing down.
