The One with Dragons
It's a post-apocalyptic fantasy with an urban and dystopian flair.
Humanity's struggle against the inevitable.
The year is 2067. The world teeters on the brink of war. Scientist find a way to create sentient biological life forms using projected consciousness and Artificial Intelligence to construct the brain. Nuclear bombs and these new weapons are looming as a genuine threat to humanity. Some of humanity's elite decide to build an underground bunker to house at least 200k people comfortably in case things go south. However, no one expected the new biological weaponry to desire and then gain free will. The most powerful of the new species, the Dragons, took over the world, hunting down humans purely for sport. 200k people escape into the underground bunker (possibly more all over the world idk) and try to salvage what was left of humanity. Scientists discover ways to make humanity a more viable threat to the dragons by biologically engineering genes that gift people with magical abilities, like teleportation and healing. And so a century passes. People learn to Chase, a teleportation technique which allows a human to teleport themselves small lengths at a time. They learn to salvage crops and tend to them for short periods so they don't attract dragons to their food sources. They learn to fight the dragons and research them. They learn to live amongst one another. And they survive.
The technology is advanced but since much of it was lost to the dragons, it is also rudimentary. Healing tech is at its peak performance, but electricity is not as readily available. Drones, nanotech, and biotech are all employed.
Everything is similar to our world (since it's dystopian) except the teleportation. When "Chasing" a person is broken down and rematerialized in a spot nearby. Chasing can go in any direction; however, if a person chases from the top of a tree to the ground, the speed at which they collide with the ground is the same as if they had just jumped out of the tree. It does not overstep the bounds of gravity.
By now most can learn to Chase, although it is noted that biological females are more talented at Chasing, and they develop the ability more often than males. Other abilities, such as healing or enhanced physical abilities, are both minor and generally unhelpful.
