The Rune Yonder
A distant and ancient realm filled with magic and glamour, but also secrets and lies. Destinies intertwine and fates overlap in this extravagant and dangerous world- Who can you truly trust in this world of mystery?
High fantasy
The creation of the Rune Yonder is a story known to few- It's discovery however is a tale told far and wide.
But I'm feeling kinda lazy rn so here's an info dump: Long long ago four wizards broke free of their mortal world and immigrated to a place they called the Rune Yonder, a small pocket dimension full of all kinds of magic. They were welcomed to the new world and eventually integrated with its locals, soon becoming the four rules of the four Runic Factions.
The Rune Yonder was a place of magic and mystery that laid peacefully empty alongside other universes. That was until four wizards broke free of their mortal realm, and set foot in this place. Finally, their magic was unleashed to its full potential.
Each wizard went one direction, and cultivated that land to what they believed to be right.
Each country has it's own history...check their pages to find out.
Each country practices different religions. Some are more religious than others, but most let everyone practice what they wish to practice.
Like the typical laws of physics we understand. Throw a ball, it's going to hit the ground eventually.
When you think of Magic in the Rune Yonder, think of an energy that encompasses all aspects of life. This energy is connected to everyone and everything and by those with strong enough will and determination are able to harness it and it's power. There are no limits as to what this energy can do, and the ways of using it's reality altering properties come in many forms from verbal spells, alchemic rituals, even magical potions and elixirs. Wands and staffs are not common in the Rune Yonder seeing as all it's inhabitance are born with the underlying ability to connect to this all encompassing magical energy.
Technology in the Rune Yonder seems primitive from the outside; folks drying their clothes out on lines, riding horses and wagons, even the concept of sending letters to one another appears less than modern. However, looks can be deceiving. The Rune Yonder is highly advanced, just not in the way one would first assume. Magic is worked into everyday life just as much as technology has been worked into our world. Those clothes hanging out on the line? A cleaning spell has been cast on them and now they smell of strawberries and lilac. The wagon you see passing by is almost the equivalent of a self driving car, the person sitting atop it is just along for the ride. Even those letters might as well be instant messages, with the smallest of spells the parchment will arrive to the target in mere moments.
