'Sploded one day. Ironically, this caused life to appear instead of erasing it.

While some races and species may classify as "magical" by the standards of other groups, there is almost always a scientific explanation, however wacky or improbable it may be.

Constantly challenged

Greatly varied depending on the region and culture. Some groups live in the stone age, while others are about to figure out time travel and immortality.
