Joliison
A fantasy land of dragons, phoenixes, dwarves, elves, fairies, Haturies(land animal hybrids), Walters(sea animal hybrids), and humans where they live together. Restlessness between the cognitive species grows and promises something bad in the near future
Fantasy, historical, lgbtq+
Light red-ish orange
light purple-ish red
orange with a tint of red
2 moons
Moon (1) visible during the day, almost following the sun
Moon (2) visible during the night, much closer than to Joliison than Moon (1)
5 landmasses- most connected to each other
multiple islands
6 seas/oceans
7 major lakes
6-8
3 of which are used as dragon clan mountains
2 of which are used as dwarven mountains
At least 1 is for the phoenixes
Lightning storms: no clouds are involved, it is just the continuous clash of charged particles in the atmosphere
The gravity on Joliison is lighter in comparison to earth's
The three laws of motion remain intact
The conservation of mass and energy remain intact
There are two magic systems: Learned and Inherited, and both control elemental powers
Phoenixes, fairies, and dragons inherit their elemental abilities
Humans, elves, and dwarves learn to control elemental abilities
Haturies and Walters are the only cognitive species that do not possess the ability to control elements to any degree
The inherited system is very powerful but also limited, with either limited control on multiple elementals or full control on one elemental
The learned system is, in comparison, weak but a lot less limited. Certain elements are easier to learn while others take decades to gain any control. All elements are viable to be learned with full control but are weak in terms of power.
Technology is based on elemental powers. Everything is powered by elemental magic from electric types to solar and aqua types depending on the location and most efficient type to be used in the situation. Use of natural oils and gasses are extremely limited in cities and towns and is non-existent nomadic clans and tribes.
Between sunrise and sunset, there are approximately 25 hu (hours) and sunrise to sunrise is about 50 hu (hours)
Elemental powers help obtain and use any natural resources available
Water, Solar Energy, Lunar Magnetic Energy, Electricity, Fossils, and wood.
Seasons usually determined by the length of the day and night cycles.
During the summer it goes up to 57 hours in the daytime
During the winter it goes down to 53 hours in the daytime
During spring and fall, the time shifts back to exactly 55 hours
Trees that produce food, Trees that lose their leaves for winter, Trees that retain their leaves all year, Trees that produce sap
Shrubs that produce food, Shrubs that lose their leaves for winter, shrubs that retain their leaves all year, shrubs that are poisonous
• blossomberries
• land sharks: sharks that replaced their side fins with 6 creepy, indescribable, legs
• flying jaguars: thought to be extinct but can be seen near mountain ranges not inhabited by phoenixes or dragons
• Rabideer: small deer with long ears, antlers, and patterned fur
Each species has its own rules on biology and procreation, though most sentient species can procreate with one another if they so choose.

Dragons- large lizard-like cognitive species. Depending on the race they will either be land, sky, or sea-dwelling species
• All dragons have both male and female reproductive organs to ensure the survival of the species.
• Gender is entirely a social construct, dragons typically display their preferred gender through their scales. They cannot control the exact color but they can adjust how light or dark their scales are, light-colored scales are female indicators and dark-colored are male indicators.
• Can shift between their natural dragon (10ft-20ft tall) form and their bipedal form (6ft -8ft tall) that they only use when wanting to interact with other species on a respectful level.
• Hatch from eggs and spend the first 20 yani as whelps, their second 30 Yani as adolescents, and then as adults live for another 60 Yani, and spend the rest of their 40 yani as elders.
• Group mating, Group birthing, and group hatching
• Very social creatures, typically cannot live alone for long, or they will go feral from the loneliness.
• One dragon can only give birth to around one whelp and only half of the clan will give birth per mating season. A lot of whelps might not survive the first 20 yani of life.
Phoenixes- birds of flames and absolute predators. A half cognitive species, the most primitive of the other cognitive species
•
Fairies-
• Fairies are typically shorter than most humans. The normal range for an adult fairy would be 4 ft 10 to 5 ft 3.
• Don’t have breasts or nipples, regardless of gender, because infant fairies don’t require things like breast milk when born. They only need water until they’re able to handle mashed fruits.
• The characteristics of separate genders would be wing size, wing patterns, hair length, and body markings, their genitalia are considered beneath all of that
• During the process of reaching sexual maturity, the male fairies will build muscle, and sprout dark-colored wings, with the length of those wings being linked culturally to how manly and powerful that fairy is. That’s because in folk tales one of the strongest fairy deities was said to have purged an entire army threatening the safety of a country simply by flapping his massive wings and blowing them all away.
• When female fairies reach maturity they sprout their wings, the pattern of the wings is very complex and tends to be very mesmerizing to people who’ve never seen fairy wings before. (Imagine the extraness of the feathers of a peacock but instead of making you feel weird or laugh, it’s as if you’re seeing an extremely well-crafted painting that you can’t take your eyes off of.) The more complex the pattern determines how feminine and the strength of their magical/elemental powers. The hips also widen to compensate for pregnancies.
• The males are weaker in elemental control in comparison to the females. Both are capable of shapeshifting into a limited range of transformations.
Haturies- A cognitive species derived from humans and non-cognitive land creatures.
Centaurs, Werewolves, werecats, vampires, etc.
•
Elves-
•
Dwarves-
•
Walters- A cognitive species that dwells beneath the waters whether they be saltwater or freshwater and have humanoid qualities
Selkies, Mers, etc.
•
Humans-
•
Haturies and Walters are not natural, they are manmade creatures that gained cognition and grew into two of the many sentient species that roam Joliison. But this accrued 2 cuni ago and only deeply invested scholars know of this fact anymore.
Humans and Elves: Books
Dwarves and Dragons: Stone
Each race finds its own history important but farries do not make any effort to teach it beyond the stories passed down from generation to generation.
Humans and Elves write their history down in books that are to be preserved (though the war has caused some of that history to be lost to time)
Dwarves etch their history into stone believing if the story has been eroded then it is meant to be forgotten and if it stays it is to be taught to the children if there is missing information.
Phoenixes do not believe in history, only in the present, and therefore only tell their personal stories from living to their children.
Haturi and Walters mostly live amongst humans and only have history to tell if they live in packs or clans. Otherwise, they only have what little humans will allow them to have.
Before the warring/ middle ages when the cognitive species are separate but willing to work together and support each other. War is on the verge of starting and tensions are high.
Dragons-
* females protect and defend the clan
* males feed and nurture the young and sickly
Multiple religions
Spirit Night - when the lights of the spirits dance in the sky washing over the inhabitants as they pass by, in some celebrations they are said to leave gifts, in others they are to light the night sky and watch the people below dance the night away
