First, the powder charge is sealed in a disintegrating protective case. The bottom of the case houses the primer, and the top of the case is capped by an inlaid shaped adhesive trip. The bullet is attached to the top of the adhesive strip and the sides of the top flange of the protective case.

The AAF Caseless Round is cylindrical in shape, with a diameter of 10mm and a length of 55mm. The front part of the round has a pointed tip and aerodynamic body, and is connected to the powder charge by a small adhesive strip.
