On August 3, Earth year 1639 Lobaxus Tiberius Wolfsbane left Marvella to find the undiscovered planet of Earth. Once there, he crash landed in a field in Blakeney, Northfolk, England where he met Jocelyn Ivy Smith, who the daughter of a farmer was working on a farm nearby when they something come down from the sky, his spaceship. He eventually married her but he was not used to Earth customs and she decided to keep her last name. Over several centuries, Europe was populated with Sempi-Meddi who bore the name Smith. It is a crime on Mavella to interbreed with different species so they all were known under the name Smith. On October 13, 1820 there was a mass cleansing of all the Sempi-Meddi on Earth by the Meddian Elite, the Klaxar, and the only known survivor of that unknown event was Ophelia Ariana Smith who was working elsewhere. She saw these events transpired and changed her surname to Croft only for her descendant later to marry a Human with the last name Smith. There is a gap between those points that was not recorded.
