Salzar

Salzar is a Realm of extremes. Its atmosphere is charged with massive amounts of magical energy, which creates pockets of harsh climate all over its surface without any logic governing their locations. Thin magical barriers separate these miniature biomes; one may stand on one side and see a raging blizzard for miles in all directions, then cross the barrier and be buffeted by a sandstorm.

Dragons and Drakes often claim the same area and become locked in constant war due to the small amount of hospitable land and the large size of the territory required for the survival of either species. Different subspecies have been known to take up residence together out of necessity, even when they would rather not live so close together.
