The legend/rumor of a coven of magic users living deep in the forest. Their weapons are the greatest of al time.

Legend

Legend tells it that deep in the heart of the forest, hidden from prying eyes, is a thriving coven of magic users. Their weapons are the most powerful in history.
Only those worthy of receiving such weapons will find the coven. No one knows by what manner it his hidden, but they are certain that it’s magical.

A legend. It used to be common knowledge but no one has exited the forest alive for decades, so now it’s assumed to be a legend.

Awestruck but also fearful. The general public is only a few generations away from burning witches at the stake, so the undercurrent of fear is palpable.

-There is actually a coven that lives at the center of the forest.
-It is guarded by magic.
-Their weapons are actually the greatest of all time.

-It’s not unisex or full of men, as most people assume. Only females are allowed to live there.
-Being admitted has nothing to do with how “worthy” you are, it has everything to do with whether or not they feel like making you something.
-There is only one witch currently living there.

-A handful of significant figures throughout history have owned coven-made items.
-Lost travelers have been guided out (and away from the center) by “fairy lights” or “spirits.”
-A few families of note have magic-users in their family that apparently learned from them.

-The idea that magical people should probably isolate themselves.
