Nithing (pole)

Pole used for cursing and revenge.

A nithing pole consisted of a long, wooden pole with a recently cut horse head at the end, and at times with the skin of the horse laid over the pole.The nithing pole was directed towards the enemy and target of the curse. Then, the curse could be carved in dragon language on the pole.

It is unknown when exactly first Nithing pole was created, but it appears to be an ancient practice, used back in Pre-Border times. As it comes from religion of Six Mothers , it is used mainly by tribes from Frozen Lands, but can be seen around Fayev .

“The pole acts as a magnet for the deadly forces of Mothers, which are drawn up through the pole from the subterranean streams and projected to the victim.”

'Nithing' is also a word used between Fayev citizens to name Pandragon without 'bringing his attention' to themselves.
