Naja was born with the name Mela, to parents who were nobility in the elven outpost of Vamir. But Naja was not content with the quiet life and wanted more adventure. Growing up she would run away from her lessons and convinced several staff to give her lessons in hand to hand combat, various weapons, and explosives. The last turned out to be her favorite, and Naja enjoyed the boom a well-made something could cause.
Her parents were displeased and did what they could to discourage this, which eventually created a rift between them. As soon as she turned 18 Naja left and joined a local chapter of the The Order of the First Storm in Myrin getting herself transferred to another country to continue serving so her parents could not find her. The Order did not concern themselves in political affairs, and did not give out the location of their agents; even to nobility seeking a runaway daughter who was technically an adult.
Naja served the Order well for a few years, and then life took a turn. She was assigned to a group of other hunters, most notably the human Baguette who became like a sister to her over time. At first working together was relatively normal, but soon they had to encounter the truth of the Order; a secret society that existed to help keep various world-ending catastrophes from happening and from ever reaching public ear.
Not sure what to believe, the pair were processing when Naja was recalled to the headquarters. Naja's home was calling for aid, but exactly what was going on was a mystery because the messages coming through were broken up and couldn't be understood properly. The Order told Naja and Baguette to go there and find out what was going on, the thing Naja wanted least in the world. But she'd obey her superiors, and took off there with her friend.
The city was under siege, but the nature of the enemies was unknown other than the fact that they obviously had magic jamming skills of some kind which was keeping people from teleporting out and getting out coherent messages. The creatures attacked at night and appeared to be diseased creatures of unknown origins, lending more to the confusion of what was happening.
Naja also found out then that her mother had died, and her father was sick as the creatures were spreading disease among the people with each encounter. As another attack was imminent and they were sure to finally break the walls, Naja aided her father in opening up a portal so the remaining few hundred uninfected citizens could retreat to the Order's headquarters. She wanted to take her father with her, but he stayed behind and sacrificed himself so she could escape.
Once again contacted by The Order of the First Storm, Naja and Baguette were informed that a more sinister being was behind the attacks on Naja's home, and they needed to stop him. Taking this information directly to the adventuring guild in Myrin where Baguette had come from, the guildmistress at the time surprisingly believed them. She sent the pair, along with a third named Throthgar White-Fang, off to Myrin to investigate a noble family that had recently gone missing.
The family had disrespected several ancestral spirits and were now completely wiped out, and upon finding this out Naja knew she had to make things right. Having been part of a noble family in the elven territory and technically of elven blood she was entitled to step in to the place the family had once occupied and keep a power vacuum from forming as more minor nobility vied for the spot. This helped ensure that Myrin remained stable and could give their military might to the cause if needed, so Naja made the sacrifice of not being able to be on the front lines with her friends in exchange for that stability.
The final battle took place in the Adresin Forest the evil was defeated, but the land was left diseased and unable to be inhabited. Naja eventually she had two children by Throthgar, a dragonborn like him named Indris Kibeth-Fang who went on to become the guildmistress for the adventuring guild in Myrin and a succubus like herself named Dimira Walker who, like her mother in her youth, had no interest in being royalty and is currently following her own path which Naja is letting her do so as not to make the mistakes her parents did and alienate her daughter.
In the course of time Dimira fell in love with an elven woman, and Naja was more than happy to accept their love and their eventual union. Syllia Juliana Caphaxath
, as the elf called herself, was good for Dimira; the girl was coming out of her shell, running a business in the city, and generally being more like the person Naja knew she could be. With more time the two had a child, Naja's first and only grandchild, and while Naja still has her position for now it is more because Dimira is still showing little interest in being a proper noble even if Juliana is a little more interested in the family she married into. Thankfully Naivara Walker, her grandchild, has a little more interest in the nobility and potentially taking over one day so Naja is instructing them in that manner and trying to prepare them for if they take that duty on themselves someday.

Based on a character I played for a D&D campaign. Baguette and Throthgar were played by other people in the same party, and have been shared as part of Naja's backstory with permission from those players.
