His father cheated on them while his mother was battling cancer, soon leaving them. His mother died a year later, and he was given the responsibility of looking after his sister, Acadia. When she entered into maladaptive daydreaming, his job because ten times harder, and he began to feel more and more depressed, but his foster parents noticed and talked with him, helping him cope with his losses.
