Noah Araullo
Member of UMa

Male
5'8"
141 lbs.
Lithe, lightly (lightly) muscled from dance practice, narrow hips.
Dark, bronze auburn.
Crazy curly, concentrated on the top of his head, sometimes falling onto his forehead when he forgets to cut it and it grows out.
Human; African-Filipino-American.
Rich brown tan; honey undertones.
Dark brown
Light freckles that come out in sunlight. Large, thick eyebrows. Very narrow, distinct jawline.
Unidentified anxiety disorder, un-diagnosed. Has gotten used to the tense feeling of constantly being in danger, even if nothing is wrong, even if he's perfectly safe. He's been in literally life-threatening situations and altercations, and only later did he realize, in hindsight, that he should have been scared for his life. But he's so used to that feeling, feels it every day and every hour, so that he deals with scary situations just like any other interaction, with nervous laughs and light jokes and a feigned cool head. Noah has been learning all his life how to hide this anxiety, or how to distract from it, with humor and by playing it up as awkward charm. He is not in the constant state of absolute panic, more like constant vigilance, constant paranoia: on some level it is his responsibility to make sure nothing bad happens, because then it will be his fault (even if rationally he knows it's out of his control).
His old apartment was his only safe base for a while, and recently he's gotten used enough to the UMa house to feel more at ease there as well.
Possibly ADD as well, but again, he hasn't checked with a professional. He could definitely do with some medication occasionally, and his band-mates tell him so, but Noah doesn't want to admit he has anymore problems than he's already aware of, and so avoids the issue.
Scratching his nose, especially when flustered; tossing things around in his hands like some kinda football, whether it's an apple or a book or one of his dogs. Has a crazy New York accent.
Does a lot of nervous laughing and giggling. Bites his lip through a smile when he feels an interaction is going well and the person actually seems to like him. Sometimes sticks his tongue out when he grins uncontrollably and can't force himself to stop. Talks a lot with his palms showing, sits with his legs open, very open in his communication, and feigns ease.
Remaking himself: fighting the demons his parents left him with and improving himself on his own terms, at his own pace; leaving the past in the past and moving forward optimistically.
Would also like to connect with people through music, maybe have proof for himself that everything isn't just all in his head. Some of the truest validation he gets is a fan telling him they could relate to something he wrote, or sang.
"Nothing messes a person up more than their parents."
Also hates being called "exotic".
Scatterbrained, wants to do three things at once in one go and forgets where he's going, what he's doing, why he's doing it. Hotheaded at times, has a lot of impulses that he doesn't really double check until it's sometimes too late. Petty, despite not wanting to be: remembers what people say to him, remembers anytime someone has ever hurt him, and if he ever loses his cool enough to actually blow up at someone you can be sure he'll be listing off every single instance they have wronged him.
Scares easily (can laugh it off though). Incredibly low self-esteem, jokes about it a little too much (attributes people liking him to him being part of a boy band; has never, never, been in a serious romantic relationship because he doesn't believe someone would actually want him; etc).
Can be stubborn about his stance on something, even when he's realized he's wrong: he's so used to having his opinions discarded, or exploited, and has grown used to having to defend his feelings to the death for fear of starting to believe what he's hearing instead and sympathizing with the opposing side. It's very hard for Noah to throw in the towel during an argument because it just brings him back to being younger and angry and leashed, and losing leaves him quiet and bitter for a couple of days afterwards.
Songwriting, seriously this boy is an amazing lyricist. He is quite good at team sports. Also beer pong, GREAT aim.
An able networker, he's incredibly social at events and parties, gets everyone's number, is genuinely excited to meet you and get to know you and your work.
Taylor Swift Taylor Swift TAYLOR SWIFT
Messing with his dogs. Songwriting. Hanging with friends, maybe convincing everyone to get up and go outside and go play some three-on-three football, c'mon guys!!! Likes video games but is terrible at them, usually watches and cheers from the sidelines (he's a great cheerleader).
Someone who comes off very cheerful and carefree, Noah is ready to live life to the fullest, now that he truly has the opportunity. He tries to be positive about everything, as he's gotten used to doing so as to contradict the negativity he grew up with. He's clumsy and awkward in the most charming way, and is quick to make friendly acquaintances out of strangers. Knows not to mix business with pleasure, but is also the most flirtatious of the group, as it's a way for him to grow more confident and gain the upper hand in social situations.
Tries to avoid direct confrontation, and hates arguing, but if he feels his personal beliefs are being directly challenged then it's another story, and he gives it all he's got. He also finds it much easier to stand up for others than for himself, and this loyalty is not often spoken of between him and his friends but very much noticed and appreciated. Noah finds it hard to delve deep into his own feelings, his own insecurities, because he is convinced that any vulnerability he shows will either be ignored, or used against him later. He's a decent listener however, and does find it easier to sympathize and maybe even offer advice, as a way of coping with his own problems.
November 18. Scorpio.
Barely made it through high school, hates the system, learning isn't for him at all unless it's hands on (which is the only reason he was kind of okay at biology and physics and chemistry).
Although Noah didn't like school and classes, he did like the building, and the environment: one of the few people for whom "high school was hell" doesn't ring true, because he felt most at ease among other kids his age, as well as at whatever part-time job he was working. Anywhere but at home.
Born in Manhattan, New York, Lower East Side. He and his parents were highly incompatible personalities from as early as Noah's elementary school days. They say you could hear the fighting two blocks away. Noah was always too scared to qualify his parents as 'abusive', even in his own mind, because that would mean admitting he needed outside help and he felt shameful about his life at home; and the thing is they never hit him, never expressed any physical violence. It was a game of manipulation, of control, of power imbalance; it was them creating a sense of indebtedness in him, shoving down his throat the sentiment that because they raised him, he owed them; it was name-calling followed by quick apologies, it was incessant orders followed by "when do I ask you to do anything?", it was impossibly angry reactions at accidents on his part and the constant reminder of his mistakes. It was being forbidden from ever disagreeing with his parents on anything, and it was being molded into a copy of two people he couldn't stand.
At 17 he finally left home after a particularly explosive fight centered around the clashing of opinions that eventually escalated into the usual 'don't yell at us young man you are living under our roof and on our money, you have no right to anything unless we say so, so don't go acting all high and mighty, you can't survive a day without us anyway, you should be grateful you spoiled child', etc.
He stayed at his best friend Alyssa's house for about two weeks, well aware of the trouble he was giving her parents with his impromptu presence, but feeling the safest he had in years, coming home to a house that wasn't his parents'. The day before he turned eighteen he left Alyssa's house and got everything ready to apply for the cheapest apartment he could find, to get his high school degree and finally get out of this neighborhood.
Two dogs! A Boston Terrier and a Yorkshire Terrier, named Gentle and Mack respectively.
Voted Most likely to walk off an overpass because he "wasn't paying attention".
If this were an actual K-pop group, his positions would be:
-Face of the group
-Main rapper
-Sub-vocalist
Let You Down - NF
like that - Bea Miller
44 More - Logic
Love Me Less - MAX ft. Quinn XCII
- Has never been in a serious romantic relationship, period. His list of people he's fooled around with is extensive though, so here are some names:
Lola
Hannah
Lea and Trinity
Jerry
Hank
Alex and Gordon
Julie
Kaara
Julian
Charli
Pansexual.
Possibly on the aromantic spectrum, but hasn't dwelled on it too much, as he's perfectly happy not being romantically attached or involved at this point in his life.
- Oversized sweaters and sweater-paws, sports jerseys over baggy t-shirts.
- Beanies and snapbacks, all day every day. Has them in every color, floral patterns and animal print and memes and funny saying.
- Literally always dressed for cold weather
- Doesn't wear any pants other than jeans.

Casey Nguyen: The two are clubbing buddies. They both are easily excited and both appreciate beautiful people, so the commonalities make for an easy, pleasant friendship. -
Ethan Song: They're bros, buddies, besties, wingmen. They're two incredibly compatible people, with similar senses of humor and a shared favoritism for fun times over deep, sensitive talks and topics. Neither are very prone to opening up, emotionally, but still they know almost everything about each other. -
Leo Mun: Leo and Noah probably get on each others' nerves the most in the group. They joke around a lot, especially on camera, but Leo's sense of authority and busy-business attitude doesn't mix well with Noah's bad history with being controlled and his proclivity towards pleasure over business. It's not that Noah isn't hard-working, and Leo knows this, but they seldom see eye to eye and can't relate to each other on most issues, so the root problem seems to be lack of deeper communication: unfortunately, neither men are willing to trust each other enough with their sentiments and vulnerability. -
Levi Satou: There's a lot of commonalities between them: they both struggle with mental illness, they're both openly queer, they're both naturally introverted but still prefer to spend time with others most of the time. Levi and Noah don't interact much on-camera, but behind the scenes there's a mutual respect and understanding that makes for an ease and clarity to their communication. -
Kalani Mahi'ai: Noah took an immediate liking to Kalani upon their initial meeting, and after a chance second encounter they started meeting up more often, as Noah invited him to parties and included him in group hangouts with the rest of UMa. They have an easy relationship founded on harmless jokes, similar nervous energy and the occasional free tickets to shows for Kalani's friends and coworkers, who are big fans of the group's music.

Artist, member of UMa. He has a hand in writing a majority of the songs, and helping his band-mates put their own ideas into words and on paper. Is a talented rapper, and in fact some people would criticize him for having better flow than having an actually good singing voice.
(These comments get to Noah, late late late at night, and he wonders if they're right, if he's really the weakest link in the group, if they'd be just fine without him because he can't really sing, anyway, clearly, since everyone seems to think so.)
Leftist. He's always been that funny-looking kid who's ethnicity people might have a hard time guessing at, and although that doesn't particularly bother Noah it has left him feeling in a bit of an empty spot between the Filipino, or even Asian, community, and the Black community. Despite this he is scared to get very involved in politics publicly for fear of backlash and stirring up conflict, but he's met some "nazis" face-to-face in his time that he's had no trouble "putting in their place", especially once they got provocative.
Atheist. Noah doesn't think about it much, and entertains the possibility that maybe it's a selective thing, where some people actually do have a relationship with someone ethereal because they got lucky in some lottery or something. Tries to be much more mindful about religion since becoming closer with Ethan Song, who's a devout Roman Catholic.
All of his snapbacks/beanies.
Green, reminds him of clovers and nature and growth.
