Levi Satou
Member of UMa.
24
Male (he/him)
5'11"
174 lbs.
Lean, slim but muscled. Has a strict workout regime and thus abs. Dancer body.
So black it sometimes looks like he has those blue highlights, in the right lighting; silky.
Half pulled (either clipped or gelled) back, the other half falling into his eyes (or, eye). Hasn't changed his hairstyle in like three years.
Human; Japanese-American.
Fair, cold undertones.
Dark grey, stormy.
Has an arrow tattoo on his right inner wrist; it points forward, the direction to go.
Has a very deadpan stare, and it's his default expression.
Has come to terms with being an alcoholic, but people who don't know him would never be able to tell: his attitude barely changes when he drinks, except that he becomes more loose-lipped and he smiles more easily, because everything is pleasantly fuzzy. One of those people who often doesn't get hangovers, unless he goes way overboard, and Levi knows his limits.
Clenches and un-clenches his fists a lot, sometimes unconsciously: a way of keeping cool and staying in control of his own body and mind. Standing with his arms crossed when he's being attentive.
Always fretting, moving around, doing something, and idleness is not a great state for him to be in.
Has Resting Bitch Face, and an oddly placid face, even lethargic expression, for someone who's constantly keeping himself busy.
Doesn't get angry often, but he gets angry very quickly, very suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere to an outsider. And when he gets angry his voice rises to an uncharacteristic bark that almost scares those around him, simply from the lack of familiarity. His default tone is very smooth and quiet, soft, almost a drone.
Likes to have music on in the background constantly, and you will often catch him humming or singing quietly while he works.
Constant self-improvement. Live life correctly but to the fullest. Finding stability, because in reality there are few things he is sure of in life.
Has a hard time reading people: is thus drawn to people who wear their hearts on their sleeves, who are open and forthright with their emotions.
Stoic, seems apathetic at times (as a way of keeping his emotions in check, not wanting to show weakness). To him, losing his cool is an embarrassing failure, and he's just prideful enough that he'd rather close himself off from strangers and even friendly acquaintances rather than let them get to know what pisses him off.
Hypocritical, in the sense where he expects people to be forthright in who they are but is sometimes too prideful, and perhaps scared, to open himself up in return, at least during the process of still getting to know one another.
Is so concerned with taking good care of his loved ones, and yet often refuses to accept help when he himself badly needs it, because he's so used to shouldering his own emotions.
Electric guitar, choreographing dance routines.
He's good at taking care of people, and he LIKES taking care of people: he's open and direct with loved ones, and generally receives (and expects) the same behavior in return.
Really likes to cook, though he’s still learning: he finds it to be therapeutic, and there's always something to do in the kitchen, counters to clean and peaches to preserves and veggies to chop.
Going to shelters and playing with cats and hamsters.
Levi feels his time best spent around close friends, fluttering around in the kitchen either to cook or clean, while pitching in to the conversation if he feels so inclined.
Always self-aware, Levi makes sure he gives off the impression of being collected and self-assured, because maturity translates to success, in his mind. He lost his temper a lot as a kid and had to literally train himself to keep a cool head and not just snap at people, and has since mellowed out considerably. Still tries to actively avoid people who push his buttons: if he senses a distaste forming for someone, he tries to end conversations quickly and actively avoids the person. Because when Levi gets pissed off, he finds it nearly impossible to think clearly, to form coherent sentences, to state his point without a lot of yelling and hiccuping and unnecessary cussing: it's a very humiliating, degrading, and pathetic position for him to find himself in, one that would lead him to storming off in a blind rage and he just doesn't want that.
Secretly quite motherly: starts fretting and pacing when a loved one is hurt and he feels he can't do anything about it.
Can be playful and an absolute troll at times, usually if he really likes you and is confident you like him back. He never takes teasing too far, but it's a clear sign of trust and comfort on his end.
August 4. Leo.
Public school.
Took a gap year before college, but then took another gap year, and then ended up just... not going, at all.
Parents got divorced when he was six ("thank God, my adolescence would've been actual hell if they hadn't, they fought so fucking much"). Grew up in Berkeley, so literally no one cared about the gay thing (he never even had to come out officially, it was just a general understanding when he started kissing boys). Much closer to his mom than his father, but then again he spent most of his formative years in her house, only visiting his dad every few weeks or during vacation, to keep in touch: these visits stopped after a few years, especially when it became clear that neither son nor father was enjoying or benefitting from these visits anymore.
His step-dad called him a "fag", once. It was the first time that word was thrown in Levi's direction, the first time he'd even heard it in real life. The shock Levi felt died down quickly, the second his mother stormed in from the other room and punched her partner square in the jaw. The issue was never brought up again. Levi and his step-dad are "cool", now.
Was pretty heavily depressed from ages 19 to 21, and though he's since gotten a lot better he still shifts in and out of depression sort of often, and tends to have a really bad set of days on average once a month.
If this were an actual K-pop group, his positions would be:
-Main Dancer
-Lead Vocalist
Blood // Water by grandson
White Flag by Bishop Briggs
Few Things by JP Saxe
I Don't Care by Ed Sheeran ft. Justin Bieber
- Levi's ex-boyfriend count can be chalked up to "a shit-ton", being an even mix of flings and long-term relationships. None of these ever lasted more than several months, and Levi would even argue that none of them were that serious, despite the heartbreak they often entailed. He'd really rather not think about it, it's all in the past, whatever. (Something he is still coming to terms with is that he was so bored with life, so lost and depressed and lonely, that dating around was the only way to get any sort of excitement going, and Levi has been in such dark places that he's resorted to cheating on his partner just to feel a thrill, to feel something. Is incredibly disgusted with that part of himself presently, and it's safe to say that he would never go back to that again, especially now that he actually has goals and motivations and work and loved ones.)
- Is currently in the process of discovering that the strong platonic feelings he has for Casey may be more than just that.
Gay.
- Jeans and skin-tight T-shirts, seriously it's like he never gets cold (a hOE NEVER GETS COLD)
- Usually has a jacket tied around his waist or something, no one has ever seen him with his arms covered except for, like, concerts.
- Plaid patterns, leather bracelets, loose pants that he can move around in easily.
- Wears glasses off-set (is near-sighted), big classic nerd frames.

Noah Araullo: There's a lot of commonalities between them: they both struggle with mental illness, they're both openly queer, they're both naturally introverted but still prefer to spend time with others most of the time. Levi and Noah don't interact much on-camera, but behind the scenes there's a mutual respect and understanding that makes for an ease and clarity to their communication. -
Leo Mun: They're thick as thieves, and bond over being the two "adults" in the group. They have long and deep conversations every week or so, specifically set aside a couple of hours, to talk about work and feelings and other people, and it's very therapeutic for both of them. They're both very action-oriented and like to keep busy, so there's an understanding there as well, and they admire each other in different ways, because they are very different people. -
Casey Nguyen: Levi and Casey have been dancing around each other for months. There's an insecurity about the age difference, on Levi's end, and a general shyness and inexperience with romance on Casey's end: both are very afraid of ruining their friendship. Their senses of humor match up, and they both have a tendency to fluctuate involuntarily between moods: they've become closer in the past year, and trust each other with some of their worst insecurities, and their ugliest secrets. But they're both very aware of being in the public eye, of the importance of their work relationship, and Casey isn't even out yet, barely even to himself. It's slow going. -
Ethan Song: Levi finds Ethan very entertaining, and is patient with his occasional ignorance, because he can sense Ethan's good intent and open mind. Levi sometimes feels like their relationship is a little superficial, especially for two people who have been living together for over two years, but he also understands that Ethan is not the type to open up easily and get "deep and sentimental", and he respects that.

Artist, member of UMa. Can hit the highest pitch of the boys, great at harmonizing, and in general has a nice tenor voice. Probably the best dancer, matched closely by Casey, and choreographs any dance routines for the group personally.
VERY ACTIVE AND OPINIONATED ABOUT POLITICS. Democratic socialist. Would fight you to the death about human rights and equality and equity.
His Twitter feed is a constant stream of retweeting discourse, and creating his own threads to pitch his own opinion on certain matters: he writes concisely and convincingly, and it's a direct contrast to asking him about the same issues in person: Levi will frequently start a thought, feel himself getting worked up, then stutter to a halt and try to change the subject, or request to go get some air.
Not particularly spiritual or religious, he likes Buddhism in theory but doesn't want to risk that feeling of uselessness and hopelessness and anger when he tries and fails to follow a certain structure of life.
His electric guitar, he's had it since he was 16. Has used it to woo his betrothed's (plural)(has tried on several occasions).
Pineapple on pizza can you believe it
The color makeup of a bruise: black, blue, purple, maybe some green?
Tigers, he likes their aesthetic.
Silence, and the act of ignoring someone who wants nothing more than to get your attention and rile you up.
