Her brother is the only family that she ever knew. Her father died protecting the city, and her mother died in childbirth. She stayed in the training facility with her brother, and typically just sat on the sidelines and watched him train. On the days that he had off, he would train her to protect herself if anything ever happened to him. Supplies were delivered directly to the facility, so no one ever really left, including her. Being left alone with just her brother for years on end made her cling to him. She wanted to make sure that nothing ever happened to him. She eventually fled the city with her brother, hoping that he would abandon this dangerous journey and merely find a place to hide.
