Genevieve Amber Prism
Goes by the nickname "Evie", also known as the "Lightning Strike". Her troopers refer to her as "Col. Genevieve Prism." or just "Col. Prism" when there's no way to be confused with her sisters. She was named after her grandmother, who went by the nickname "Genny" but her parents decided on "Evie" instead to be more unique, and she's kept the nickname ever since. Her sister Sprite calls her random nouns for no reason. She gave up trying to understand why.
Protagonist, Colonel
Female
17
Caucasian, of French and British heritage.
Emerald green.
Short, slightly above shoulder length, worn in messy twin-tails with bangs. Is slightly wavy.
5'2" (157.5 cm)
Thin, muscular and athletic.
Light and rosy.
Is an amazing cook (which is incredibly lucky since the rest of her family can't cook diddly-squat). Also a great listener, as well as strategist and fighter. Gives the best (and sincerest) compliments!
Fidgets and fiddles with her gloves, purse strap, hair and/or pendant when anxious, often stands with her head tilted down with her arms either crossed or behind her back, as if she's creating a wall between herself and everyone else. Stutters, and "Uh," "Um," "Yeah," and "Like," make up 40% of every sentence she says. Will often carry her phone around with her like a crutch, and when feeling awkward will look at it as if she's gotten a text even if she hasn't. Cries when angry. Also clenches her fists and looks at the ground when upset/mad. Has trouble keeping eye contact, and will look to the floor or the side randomly during conversations. Hides her face when embarrassed, and her hands sweat when nervous. During Corrupt attacks, she can overcome these quirks for a while because she's so focused on the battle. Can become perfectly still when in position for sniping. Is ambidextrous.
The fact that millions of people are still Corrupt. Her friends and family as well, especially Theo and Andi, both of whom have had a parent been Corrupted. Being the youngest sister also is a motivation, because she wants to pull her own weight. Likewise, she wants to make sure Director Brookes doesn't regret his decision of making her a colonel at such a young age. The fear of disappointment is a huge motivator in her life as well.
Has very low self esteem, and social anxiety. She'll occasionally have anxiety attacks, though luckily she hasn't had as many recently. She used to have them more frequently when younger, especially when she first became colonel. Her anxiety attacks usually include (at least in her case) sweating, trembling, feeling like she's in danger, feeling like she's going to cry, heart palpitations and nausea. Apologizes for everything, gets mad at herself way too easily, and assumes everything is always her fault. Over analyzes everything she does, and gets humiliated/embarrassed over things people probably don't think twice about. If she does something and messes up, she thinks she's an idiot, but if she doesn't do something out of fear of messing up, she starts crying because she thinks she's a coward. Avoids unnecessary social interactions. Always afraid she'll let someone down.
Reading, of all genres but usually fiction. Almost always has her head in a book. Also enjoys cooking quite a lot, and favors cooking breads and cakes. Used to play piano but doesn't much anymore, much to Theo's disappointment.
Evie is a very gentle and quiet soul, and rather a sweet person all in all. She is extremely shy and introverted, has social anxiety, and gets flustered easily when put in social situations. Despite this, she does open up to people over time, and becomes more like herself once feeling more comfortable. However, the only people who see the realest, truest Evie are her family, and occasionally Damian or Theo, but other than them, she prefers to be more reserved. Her true self is actually a bit goofy, not to mention clever and can come up with comebacks on the fly, similar to her mother's personality, but these aspects of herself are usually overpowered by her social anxiety. She is also incredibly kind and forgiving, but unfortunately it goes to the point where she'll take all blame upon herself, even for things she didn't do. She says "sorry" so much it has become almost like a catchphrase.
On a happier note, Evie also has the ability to see the best in people, whether it be personality or appearance. She's always complimenting others, honestly as well. She does her best to respect people's wishes, and rarely gets angry at those other than herself. She thinks her friends and family are amazing, and sadly believes she's nothing like them. She often wishes she could hold herself as confidently as her mom, speak her mind like Sprite, be as strong as Andi, and as calculated as Brielle. Despite loving her family dearly, she can't help but feel that as the youngest she has the most to live up to.
Evie also hates being the center of attention, and hates it when her extroverted friends (aka Damian and Theo) make a scene. Nevertheless, she loves them all the same. And, in spite of hating the spotlight, does take her duty as a colonel very seriously and will take command when needed. People say she's like a whole other person when leading her regiment, and it's scary how true that remark is. When leading, her flustered, shy persona changes into a serious, professional, one. Evie's aware of this, and often wonders why she can't summon that version of herself during a simple conversation.
Was schooled at home by a tutor. Due to the Diamond Serum, her capability to memorize and calculate data was increased, allowing her to graduate school at age 9.
Evie is third daughter and child born to her parents, Aimee and Arthur Prism. Her sister Brielle was 7 when she was born, and her sister Sprite was 1. Andi at the time was 3, though she had not yet been adopted into the Prism family.
Her parents were biologists plus physicians, and not long after Evie was born both were requested to work on a project: a vaccine that would strengthen human skin and hopefully help people survive car accidents, bombs and even gunshots. It was called the "Diamond Project." Aimee was especially enthusiastic about the project, because her grandmother (whom Evie was named after) had died in a care accident when Aimee was a teenager. Her husband also thought the project would be beneficial to humanity, and seeing how passionate his wife was about it, committed to the job as well, though both knew it would be a struggle parenting three children at the same time. Luckily, Aimee's younger sister Laina was happy to help out, and spent a lot of time supervising the Prism girls, becoming like a second mom to Evie and the rest of them.
