Mara has very mousy brown hair.
Mara has a set of three long scars running from her right shoulder down her back to her left hip. You don't see it or learn about it in the story, but they are still there. She got them from a Bongle during a hunting trip gone wrong when she was 11.
Mara is very lean and lanky from living on her own. Though not unusually tall for her age, she is muscular.
deeply tanned with some freckles dotted across her nose.
hunting, fishing, and you know just the regular staying alive stuff.
Mara lives by herself. She was written with a tragic backstory that not only leaves her alone and homeless, but also far away from anything familiar. Mara was born into a rich family in one of the great cities outside of the western part of the school forest. After scandals destroy the family name, tragedy takes her family away from her and Mara runs away into the depths of Shool hoping to find the fabled DouDoor Brothers to help her. She never finds them and has to teach herself to survive the wilds of Shool. Years go by and she has become a very capable young woman who sounds like, as Meara puts it, "an apocalyptic survivor" which is quick correct in the fact that she did survive a small family apocalypse. So currently, Mara's only motivations are staying alive and away from the people and place that destroyed her family.
She can read, write and do simple math. She has never received any formal education.

Deer. She loves to watch them, but because they are so shy it is hard to find them. The deer in Shool have 2 sets of front legs and 1 set of back legs. They come in a variety of blues and greens and their size waxes and wanes with the moons so on a full moon they could be the size of a horse but on a no moon they may not be any bigger than a house cat.
Her bow and arrows.

None. She does not live with people enough to have any.
