Falkor’s hair is a darker blond, short and feathery. After getting wet, it tends to get more wavy, but its default is more fluffy.
N/A
His eyes are a sharp green, almost unusually so. They’re very expressive, but have a tiredness about them.
Human
An Uncanny, subtype Light elemental
His skin is a bit left of tan, with a spattering of freckles that only really appear in summer over the bridge of his nose. He has a small nick on his jaw from an accident when he was younger and small, usually concealed bags under his eyes.
For as tall as he is, Falkor is somewhat dainty. If he were to work on his strength, he would likely bulk up, but he’s lived a relatively sheltered life.
As mentioned above, the nick on his jaw is a defining characteristic. It’s on the smaller side, but once you notice it, it’s distinct.
He doesn’t really have a distinct scent. Clean laundry, maybe lavender.
He tends to speak rather nervously, making his voice softer. His voice is something of a mid-tone, not very deep but not high.
He dresses somewhat properly due to his family, in plain button ups and pants. However, he tends toward older, more ordinary sneakers. He also always wears a METROband called Sly.
Vocal Mannerisms
Falkor can be awkward, which leaks into his mannerisms - vocal and physical - quite a bit. This means that he has a tendency of making statements sound more like questions, mumbling, and allowing other people to talk over him and push him around. Unless he is really against an idea, he is unlikely to speak out against it. He also tends to use buffer words, trying to soften things by drawing them out. He also tends to laugh when he feels uncomfortable, but it will be obvious from his expression that he feels out of place. He says sorry a lot.
Motor Mannerisms
When vocal responses fail him, Falkor often falls back on physical responses, nodding, shaking his head, or shrugging to display his opinions. He bites his lip when thinking, chewing at it the more anxious or deep in thought he gets. Despite this awkwardness, though, he has been conditioned to always make eye contact when someone is talking to him, even if he avoids it at all other times. He also has a bit of a staring problem, often being unable to draw his gaze way from things that spark his curiosity.
He has difficulty knowing what to do with his hands, so he often clasps them in front of him, holding them close to his chest or crossing his arms. He also does this to avoid gesturing, as his father has gotten onto him for that before. Whenever he doesn’t have Sly or another of his METRObands on, he tends to stroke the line of skin where it would be resting, almost like a nervous habit. His stance is very closed off, drawn in on himself. He also tends to rock back and forth when idle, feeling the need for any form of movement to distract himself.
He wants to experience the world and help people. He’s very genuine and he wants to understand things beyond his gilded cage.
In line with his desires, Falkor needs to see the world for himself and develop his own opinions.
Minor Flaws
Because of his social isolation growing up, Falkor can be very awkward in interactions, taking a while to warm up and often stumbling over his words, especially when speaking with strangers. Additionally, due to often being pushed around by his father and the staff, he’s a bit meek when confronted or challenged.
While his childhood has had negative effects on his mental state, he has also undoubtably been spoiled, granted just about anything he could want if only to keep him from asking questions.
Major Flaws
Because of his unfamiliarity with the outside world, Falkor can be very anxious, avoiding situations that he thinks will have excessive risks. In the same vein, he can be rather ignorant of the struggles of those in other situations, having never been given the chance to witness such situations.
Fatal Flaw(s)
After the death of his sisters, Falkor has long possessed attachment issues. However, rather than making it difficult for him to get attached to people - though that is often the case - he is stuck in a situation where he will get attached to a person and will then do just about anything for them, to keep them with him. Even if he has reservations about something, he will do it for their sake.
Falkor… doesn’t think very much of himself. He thinks he has the potential to grow and change, but as it is, he doesn’t view his skills as being worth much. He doesn’t think he has much to offer at all at the beginning of the story. As though he’s nothing more than the rich boy with a sob story and the financial resources to help the only people who have given him the time of day since Lyra.
Falkor doesn’t like those who lack empathy. He finds that it makes them more difficult to get along with. As a very empathetic person himself, he doesn’t understand why another WOULDN’T be empathetic.
Falkor probably has the most common sense out of the group. Additionally, he’s quite good at writing and negotiation.
Falkor hasn’t quite found a direction he wants to go in yet, but he has a bit of a fondness for writing.
ENFP
He’s certainly depressed. His two sisters are dead and he feels alienated, with very few pillars of support. This has also made him perpetually anxious, though perhaps not the the same extent as Cassie.
American
American
Falkor has been homeschooled for a majority of his life, but he is currently in his junior year of high school.
When he was about 7, the METROcube that his second eldest sister - June - was in crashed, killing her. 4 years later, when he was eleven, his eldest sister - Raven - went on an exploration in the country and never returned. She was never confirmed dead, but it’s highly likely that she did not make it out alive.
His childhood isolation did not do him any good, that’s for sure.
- Develop his sense of self through his friendships and association with the outside world
- Learn the secrets of his family. What really happened to his sisters? What secrets are his father keeping?
- Grow his self-confidence and gain a stronger will to do things for himself.
He has no pets unless you count, like, Sly the METROband.
I don’t think he’s particularly religious.
He acknowledges the corruptness of the government, but he has always felt somewhat helpless against it.
He’s a student.
Falkor favors subdued purples because it was his older sister’s favorite and he has latched onto anything he remembers about them.
He definitely has his preferences, but if something is handmade, he usually likes it better for the sentiment behind it.
He’s very attached to his late sister’s old METROband, Sly.
Falkor isn’t a huge fan of weapons, but he is most experienced with guns.
He is not currently employed.
