Tantalius
Tantalos, Tantalus, Tantas, Tantarus,
The Unsatisfied Seeker
Tantas was created on September 8, 2049 by PentaCorp as a part of the WEBS program, a series of Mechs that begun with the AI Arach/"Xerxes".
They were made to be the perfect infiltrator and intelligent weapon; they would eat other sapient beings to gain more wisdom and knowledge, as well as satisfying their unending hunger.
At first, Tantas was given only the bare minimum of knowledge via information uploaded by ExpositOS. He was only taught what his purpose was, what he was built for, basic knowledge needed for him to survive and function normally in Mecharus society, and statements concerning myriad of things that just didn't make sense. Some of the statements included the current date apparently being 1999 Anno Domini, that they were created by the god-like Overlookers, humans were the almighty servants of the Overlookers, and that they must obey the Tridex, a document that provides all the info that the Overlookers wanted their children to know.
Needless to say, this didn't satisfy Tantas at all. He felt like something was being hidden from him, he felt like things were far more complicated than the simplistic information that was fed to him.
He wanted to find and discover more knowledge, as he felt that the truth had been concealed from him.
Tantas would gain knowledge on weapons manufacturing, chemical mixing, and hacking systems from Data Transmitters illegally smuggled in by The Courier per his request for the tiny cost of 250,000 Mecharite Dollars.
Eventually, the rest of the Mechs under WEBS would catch on to his obsession with wanting more info and nicknamed him 'Tantalus', after the man in Greek mythology that was constantly inhibited from the food and drink he desperately wanted.
Tantas wouldn't mind this nickname, as a matter of fact, he actually sympathized with the mythological Tantalus and thought the name fitted him like a glove.
And thus, Tantas would take on the name 'Tantalius', with the Mechanical Latin word for 'Conqueror' replacing the 'lus' suffix from the original name.
Some time later, Tantalius had gained substantial info about 'The Outside' thanks to Pry-Eyes, who managed to gain access to the PentaCorp External Uplink Server and downloaded tons of information from the outside until he was forcibly stopped by the ENFORCER.
While the data pertaining to the true creation, purpose, and nature of the Mecharus race wasn't downloaded by Mind-Eyes prior to ENFORCER severing the connection, it still proved very useful for Tantalius and by extension the rest of the WEBS Mecharus, as it detailed information on the human race, the unnaturally-advanced technology for the time, the culture of humanity, and numerous other nuggets of information that Tantalius and the WEBS robots ate up.
Tantalius' curiosity had peaked, he wanted more context to this information.
He wanted to know why the details that he was given completely contradicted what was shown in the data from Pry-Eyes, he wanted to know the piece of data that would warrant the humans going through the trouble of trying to hide it from view.
These two thoughts swirled around and around in Tantalius' head, not a moment would he go without thinking of the data and what it could mean.
What would be the consequence of unleashing this data for all the Mechs to see?
Would they believe it?
Tantalius had been pondering the answers to these questions for a while, he wanted to know the truth that was hidden behind the lies.
In the midst of this malaise, Tantalius got an unexpected message from Xerxes detailing a plan that would satisfy them all.
Xerxes had gotten wind that Ares and his troops have left for Quetzal Tech HQ, and the only forces defending the PentaCorp External Communications Dish would be ENFORCER, Acrimonitor, ConcoctOS, and Aequitas. They had the advantage of multiple bodies, but Xerxes had an ace up his sleeve.
He would get Tantalius to create a device that would stun most of the bodies that the PentaCorp guards utilize, allowing them to enter the building unopposed and retrieve the rest of the data.
Tantalius was ecstatic upon hearing of the plan, but he wanted to cover his bets.
He would contact Pry-Eyes, who in turn referred him to his assistant Prometheus .
Tantalius would convince Prometheus to upload a trojan horse into the PentaCorp Servers, blinding the security cameras and AI, thus allowing the WEBS robots to operate undetected until they reached the External Communications Dish.
Alongside this request, Tantalius would convince Prometheus to fend off any resistance from any interlopers that interfered in the plan, telling him that like his namesake, he would bring fire and knowledge to the Mecharus race, that he would become the legend that brought them purpose and understanding.
All was set in place and the plan could finally commence.
Xerxes sent his second in command, Scarab, alongside Fly-Eyes, Beetle-Bit, Plunderfly, Blunderfly, Fling-Wing, Spinner-Strings, TerrorMite, Talos, Mandiboss, Carvesect, Gigantor, Gourmantis, Mosquitor, Swarminator, and TickHick, with Tantalius tagging along as the hacker of the group.
Once at the destination, TickHick, Mandiboss, Compositor, Carvesect, and Spinner-Strings would brute force their way through unexpected resistance, as drones were at the location earlier than expected. Thankfully, they would tank the gunfire and destroying most of the land targets with ease. FlingWing, Plunderfly, and Fly-Eyes were sent to deal with the airborne targets that were present, which were destroyed even faster than the land drones due to weaker armor.
Tantalius then tried to brute force a hack into PentaCorp systems, unfortunately, the Strong-AI Sinsor had learned from his previous hacking attempts and had successfully halted his process.
This angered Tantalius, who proceeded to contact Prometheus via QMail, as if Prometheus had uploaded the virus, then Sinsor wouldn't have been able to do this; Tantalius also realized that the virus would've prevented drones from coming for a few hours if it were uploaded.
Tantalius got a response, not by Prometheus, but rather by five enemy contacts: Polyphemus, AVIOS, AETOS, and Panzor, who were sent on behalf of the Olympians to stop Prometheus' virus attack.
Panzor stood on the battered Prometheus' body, and using a peace sign, motioned to AVIOS and AETOS to disembowel and damage Prometheus, making him look like a withered junkyard corpse. To add insult to injury, AETOS would rip out Prometheus' kidneys and blast a massive gaping hole into the waist.
Instead of being horrified, Tantalius was merely concerned and annoyed, as the virus that would've secured an easy way in had no feasble way to be transferred to the PentaCorp servers anymore.
Tantalius then severed connections with Prometheus' Communicator to prevent Polyphemus from tracking them.
Tantalius then confessed to Scarab that they had a pretty big problem, he was pondering how would they get inside the base, and more importantly, how to do it discreetly.
Fortunately for him, Carvesect had a simple, albeit disgusting solution; Carvesect would use the corpse of a PentaCorp employee that he graved-robbed with the help of The Cadaver.
Carvesect then used the DNA sequence of the body to
