Born in the very mysterious Goldcrest, Aiden's parents fled shortly after she was born. They wanted more for their child than life in the gilded cage of Goldcrest and were willing to take their chances in the outside world. The Crystal River Academy agreed to help smuggle them out in exchange for anything they could bring with them to prove any theories about Goldcrest.

Sadly the whole crossing went awry and Aiden's parents were killed with the adventurers hired by the Academy barely managing to flee with their own lives and the infant Aiden. They reported the failure and included Aiden's death banking on the fact the Academy would never be able to prove it and knowing that even if the elf was too little to know anything the Academy would still want her. Being raised inside the school's walls and potentially experimented on was not the life Aiden's parents sacrificed themselves for and they were willing to take that risk, taking Aiden back to The Adventurer's Guild and raising her themselves. They took turns going on jobs so someone could always be there, and Aiden grew up knowing Brightwitch, the Guild, and the adventuring life.

So when she was old enough she became one herself, wanting to help others in the way those who raised her did for her and so many people over the years. No one ever told her the truth, and as long as her adventuring parents are around she won't know. They worry Aiden might try to return to Goldcrest, and that the knowledge she's an escapee might follow her in the worst ways...
