Madisyn was born to one of the roving tabaxi clans that exist around Firebend and The Scorched Flats. Her parents raised her to always be kind; to make a friend rather than an enemy, to help people if she could, but to know when she needed to set a boundary and say no so she didn't overdo it.

Unfortunately following those teachings is how Madisyn lost her arm, needing to have it replaced with a prosthetic when she was just six years old. Thankfully getting the prosthetic so early meant she had plenty of time to adapt as she grew, and more so when she finally was able to attend The Crystal River Academy.

Her family expected that she would take the teachings from the school and return home so that they could benefit from it. Madisyn had other ideas, knowing that she would also be expected to basically give up her life in service to the clan and wanting no part in that. So upon her graduation she quickly fled to Brightwitch and joined The Adventurer's Guild to earn their protection. As a sanctioned member of the Guild her family had no right to make demands of her, and if they tried to force her then she'd have the entire might of the Guild at her back to help.

The Guild also helped get her a better prosthetic than the clan could ever hope to make or afford for her, and has been helpful in allowing Madisyn to express herself more fully and find her own way in the world.
