Much of Alice's life is a mystery, the woman herself being quite private and preferring to simply live her life. She has familiarity with the undead however, being born in Hem Lodir and raised around the vampires and others who call the underground city home.

When the previous necromancy teacher for The Crystal River Academy retired Alice stepped in to take over the classes. She is known to most as Madame Dalsey, teaching necromancy in all its forms to older students who choose to learn the discipline. This includes the ethics and ensuring that students understand that even the undead should be treated with respect at all times.
