Arrow
Young Apprentice to the Purists
16
Male
He/him
5'7"
143 lbs.
Baggy, bold, black and white, the color orange, belts and chains
Arrow's height and build are fairly average at first glance, save for his broad shoulders, but the longer you look, the more things stand out. His hair is brown and done up in spikes that slope downwards from the top and sides of his head, some of the smaller ones hanging in front of his face. His eyes are his most striking feature, with their large, round shape and vibrant blue color. The circumstances of his creation led to several
imperfections, however, including a bent nose, a slight fork in his tongue, and jagged burn scars on his chest, waist, arms, and thighs.

Questioning
Arrow is naturally a very curious boy. He wants to know how everything works, how everyone ticks, and especially how everyone lives their lives. Though Shiro has tried to teach him not to trust anyone else, Arrow finds it hard to heed the warning and is always looking to meet new people. It isn't easy to anger him; instead he responds to strife with confusion and disillusionment. All he really wants is to solidify his purpose in life, to find the niche where he really belongs.
Light energy sabre, dark energy sabre (just handles by themselves, but he adds the blades with magic)
Arrow is a fairly skilled fighter with the advantage of entire days' worth of one-on-one time with a martial arts expert like Shiro. He wields both of his swords at once, able to strike at vital points and defend himself with reasonable consistency. Maintaining the blades of his swords maxes out his concentration, though, so he has trouble using them and his more traditional spells in concert with each other.
Pickpocket
Arrow was not born in the traditional sense; instead, Shiro brought him into the world via Artificial Soul Creation. His Soul was intentionally crafted with an even Balance of Light and Darkness, affording him potent magical skill in both elements.
He trusts Shiro above all else and helps him with his work in the Purists, including getting them money through occasional sprees of petty thievery in big cities like Merca and Nuova.
"I don't actually dream much... I've heard a lot of people tell me stories about their dreams, and it always sounds really interesting, but I can never think of any cool dreams I've had. I wish I could, it sounds really neat to be able to go to other worlds or fly or whatever when you're asleep."
"The first time I ever fought a one-on-one battle was terrifying. Most of my combat practice had been with Shiro, and the few times I did battle someone else, I had him to help me out. But this time... It was just some exan, but those claws got so close to my face so many times. Shiro actually had to save me. Getting out of that fight didn't make me feel any better because I knew I had disappointed him."
"I wouldn't know what to do, so I'd ask a ton of questions first to make sure I wouldn't be hurting them or anything. Then I would just go for it. I think it'd be a good learning experience."
"Compliments usually just confuse me, to be honest. Like... why? Are you trying to get something from me? I really want to believe them, but Shiro always tells me not to take people's word at face value."
"There are a lot of things like that, but the biggest one is seeing what's on the other side of the ocean. I just want to know what's out there."
"I think I'd just wander around... I would definitely want to be outside. It would be nice if I could just be with all the people I ever made friends with. And Shiro would have to be there too, of course."
"Uhh... I'm interested, but it's not really appropriate to think about. I try to just ignore it..."
"I get the feeling Shiro wishes I were better at magic. Keeping both my swords going is hard enough... I want to be a better artist too. I hear a lot of people talking about how fun it is but I have trouble with putting stuff into 2D."
"Umm... Curious? I dunno."
"It really bugs me when older people wave off my questions. Shiro tells me some people just don't get how important I am, or whatever, but I just think they're trying to cover up not knowing the answer. I wish people would just admit they don't know sometimes."
