Shiro
Commander of the Purists
51
Male
He/him
5'10"
85 lbs.
Gray sweater, black pants, white shoes with silver buckles
Unlike many spirits, Shiro's form is entirely human. He has a long, square face, with hollow cheeks, high cheekbones, and a narrow nose. His near-white skin and thin eyebrows make him look haggard and weary, while his sunken red eyes and pristine white hair, perfectly straight and reaching halfway down his back, give him an aged, otherworldly feel. He is very tall as well, with decent muscles that never atrophy or grow no matter how much or how little exercising he does.
Superstitions, the smell of old books
Technology, cooking
Losing Arrow
Martial arts, human biology, oceanography
Pansexual
Just about everything Shiro does is driven by his passion for the greater good. He can be quite the zealot and prefers to force change onto the world to suit him rather than change himself to suit others. Many see him as commanding, intimidating, and charismatic. He also hates being alone and always needs a distraction; silence is deafening to him and there's something wrong if he isn't getting anything done. While most appeals to his personal interests fall on deaf ears, he can be persuaded to do just about anything if Arrow's safety is called into question.
Levitation, temporary intangibility
Shiro primarily uses martial arts in a fight, in which he is a formidable expert. He strikes quick and true with punches, kicks, and even grabs when necessary, and if he determines that a foe will not go down so easily, he isn't afraid to fight dirty.
Leader of the Purists
Shiro has always been driven by ambition. He was born from the deaths of many villagers who once lived along the Terton Coast, until a massive tidal wave wiped them all out at once. Restless, Shiro went on to study the most forbidden of magics, until he unlocked the secrets to Artificial Soul Creation. Through his work, he created new life: Arrow.
After taking Arrow as his apprentice and Trusted, Shiro caught wind of the Soul Guardians and their unusual activities. He joined in order to find out what they were really after, but was quickly dismayed at their arrogance. Forbidden magic was one thing, but reckless destruction in the name of an impossible goal was another thing entirely. He left in a huff, and went on to instead begin founding the Purists.
Much of his time these days is devoted to recruitment efforts and staying as far under the Hallowed Gladiator Organization's radar as possible.
"Yes, absolutely. Some people might question my methods, but in the end, I know what's right."
"I wouldn't mind. If they seem upset, I would try to calm them down, maybe ask the parent questions about them."
"Working with another person. Anything involving my hands. It could be cleaning, or sparring, or exploring the Terton Ocean. I don't particularly care as long as I have someone else to keep me immersed in the task. I'll forget about the stressor in no time."
"I can't remember the last time I cried since the day I was born."
"That would be Arrow, my trusted. We have a strong relationship. He aids me unquestioningly, and I do everything I can to give him a fulfilling, useful life."
"I only want what's best for everyone."
"My clothes are part of my body. Even if I could change them, though, I would never bother."
"I would say that society functions best with it, even if the authority is just a figurehead. Everyone needs someone to tell them what to do."
