Rhyda
I dunno I just kinda made it up. A feminine version of Ryder? Ryder has Anglo-Saxon origin and it means "horseman, rider". There's also Rhys which could be an origin for her name and that has Welsh origin and it means "fire, ardent".
Jane
English origin, means "God is graceful"
O'Connell
Irish Origin! comes form the Gaelic clan O'Conaill and means "as strong as a wolf"
Like all of The Six, she has no clue what her last name is. She's only referred to as "Rhyda" or "Number Three" or "Caliber". Donovan yeeted their last names.
Human
100% Scotch-Irish
5'9"/175 cm
fairly tall for a woman but not too tall
155 lbs/70kg
average for her height
Pale white with pink undertones
Lots of reddish-brown freckles all over her face, shoulders, arms, and legs.
Fairly muscular. Pretty rectangular. Not a large bust or hips.
Heart-shaped, pointed chin
Bright red, darker undertones
Rhyda usually wears her hair up in a messy ponytail. When it's down, it reaches about her mid-back. The texture is insanely curly and thick. It's hard to wrangle, which is why she usually goes for a messy ponytail with a few pieces hanging in her face.
n/a
Medium sized, pretty straight, dark red in color
Rhyda has droopy eyes that always look like she's tired. Her irises are a milky green and her pupils are slightly grayish. She has straight red eyelashes.
Rhyda has a fairly small, round nose that's covered in freckles.
She has thin lips and large, straight teeth. Her mouth is usually half-opened.
Assorted small scars on her knuckles and forearms from training
A large scar stretching from the back of her knee and curving to the inside of her ankle from a getaway gone wrong.
n/a
Rhyda stands very lazily, often leaning on or against things. She doesn't move her head or neck much. Always kinda slouched.
Rhyda is very cynical and exhausted. She's sarcastic, often throwing snarky remarks at people. She often listens in on conversations and gives input when it's not asked for. Rhyda's usually not one to participate in shenanigans willingly, but she gets dragged along a lot.
Rhyda often has long, loud sighs to show her boredom and loudly clicks her gum. She gets tired and bored quickly and usually results to antagonizing people to amuse herself. She doesn't really give two shits if someone's mad at her, often snorting and laughing it off with an "okay? what are you gonna do about it?"
Despite her lazy and sarcastic demeanor, Rhyda always gets a job done. She's reliable. She'll get a job done without complaining or gloating. She just completes the task without saying much and then drags herself to bed for a nap. There's always such an ease to everything she does.
Rhyda's also fiercely independent. She was born blind and always had people fussing over her, trying to do stuff for her and naturally, Rhyda hated this. (She doesn't remember the fussing, but the resentment for being helped carries over) She doesn't like anybody doing shit for her because she's not someone to pity. The one thing that actually gets her fired up is when somebody calls her incapable.
She also likes to know what's going on a lot, which leads to her eavesdropping and nosy nature. She never pushes people for answers, but rather figures them out in her own roundabout way.
Rhyda's also a lover of the philosophical. She likes pondering about what happens after death and what's the meaning of life. She likes to listen to people argue about the matters as well, so Rhyda's prone to asking some sort of question that could definitely violate some HR guidelines and then see where it goes. She also loves to learn about the past and think about what could've happened. She mostly keeps this wondering to herself, though.

To appease Donovan
Like the rest of The Six, Rhyda wants to ensure that whatever Donovan assigns her to get done gets done. She owes Donovan for giving her a "seeing" ability. To get her life to normal
Rhyda hates it when her life spirals out of control (especially because she's blind) so she wants to get rid of Shea (or actually bring her back to the Compound) and have life go back to how it was when she was content. To know exactly what's going on
Rhyda can't stand it when she can't understand a situation. Due to her blindness, she can't really just read something and understand. She's constantly fighting to put together all of the clues and it gets extremely frustrating when she can't piece it together. All she wants is to be capable, to not need help from the others.

does so by shooting out any sort of lights and using her power and the darkness to her advantage and take her target out
March 27th
Rhyda was born in Glasgow, Scotland and moved around the UK when she was younger
Rhyda went to public school ages 5-11 and had a few tutors there to "help her" because of her disability (Rhyda hated every minute of it).
After she was kidnapped, she was schooled by private tutors in the Compound. They never pitied her for her blindness and taught her how to use it to her advantage.
Rhyda was born in the Utopia City of Glasgow, Scotland to Kailey and Caleb O'Connell. Rhyda moved around the UK quite a bit with her family, Caleb having a job that required him to be in different cities for some time.
When Rhyda was five, right before she started kindergarten, her mother was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the hospital after giving birth to Rhyda's twin younger brothers. This instantly put a ton of stress on the family, and eventually they settled down in the Utopia City of London.
Rhyda attended many different public schools in London, but she didn't really have any desire to make friends. People always pitied her for being blind and that always set her off and made her bitter. She tended to throw shady comments at people to try and get them off her back. However, this resulted in a few unfair fistfights and Rhyda having to transfer schools for her own safety.
When Rhyda was eight, her mother's brain tumor had grown and Kaila O'Connell died. Rhyda's eight-year-old self blamed herself for her mother's death because she didn't love her enough or she didn't let her mother help her enough. Callen was quick to reassure Rhyda that it wasn't her fault in the slightest, but the mindset still stuck with her. She tried to do something to keep her mind off of it and eventually landed on wanting to learn how to play rugby. She told her dad this and he was supportive. He took Rhyda to the park weekly to try and teach her how to play.
One day, when Rhyda was eleven and at the park with her father, he had to leave to take a quick phone call. Rhyda accidentally kicked the rugby ball downhill and she chased after it and through some bushes. It was here she was kidnapped and taken to the Compound all the way in Concordia. She had her memories wiped and her brain was experimented on.
The Compound buried 1500 feet below Donovan Enterprises Facility #16 in Eastern Concordia in the Sonoran Desert.
Part One: static side-antagonist, the one the protagonist has personal beef with
Static
Kind of remains the same throughout her part
Rhyda was brought to the Compound when she was eleven, wiped of her memories and was only given her power of "sight" when she was fourteen. Because of this "gift of sight", Rhyda is fiercely loyal to Donovan. She feels like she owes him her life because of what he gave her.
Rhyda's probably the least problematic assassin out of the Six. She does what she's told, she keeps her mouth shut, she always hits her target.
Growing up in the Compound, Rhyda naturally became close friends with Felix Herrera. They like to antagonize people and be sexy beasts together.
When Rhyda was seventeen, she was assigned to assassinate the president of Concordia - a man by the name of Sherman Wong. He was scheduled to give a speech, Rhyda found her way to the top of canyon-side skyscraper and aimed her sniper straight for his head. In the middle of his speech when Rhyda sensed there was the least amount of guards around her, she fires. Milliseconds before she squeezed the trigger - Sherman's right-hand-man and daughter - Bianca Wong - caught sight of Rhyda's bright red hair in the afternoon sun.
After successfully killing the Concordian President, Rhyda makes her getaway and arrives back at the Compound with a shout of praise from Donovan.
When Rhyda's eighteen, she's assigned to go to the Ghost City of Los Angeles to take out a rising crime boss there. Rhyda successfully killed them with a bullet through a car window, but she was so focused on tracking them down (they were racing in a car), that she couldn't sense the thugs surrounding her building. Rhyda's nearly cornered, but then a car rolls up and somebody shouts within for Rhyda to get in.
Not really thinking, Rhyda gets into the car and the driver speeds away at speeds that are not necessarily the safest. Rhyda uses her handgun to fire bullets out the back windshield to shake the thugs following her and the mystery driver. Eventually, when they're in safety, the driver introduces herself as Artemis Sedaris. She's the most notorious driver in all of Ghost LA and she watched Rhyda fire the bullet that killed a man who liked to harass her for being a pretty young woman. After this, Rhyda and Artemis grow kinda close and their bond grows into something romantic.
However, Rhyda can never stay long and leaves for the Compound. They agreed to be on-and-off, no real feelings involved. Rhyda comes by for at least a weekend every 2-3 months to see Artemis.
Rhyda got news of Shea's escape when she returned to the Compound after a trip to Ghost LA. Naturally, she was furious that Shea - Rhyda's sister - could abandon them like this. (There was something pulling at Rhyda's heart, she couldn't figure out what it was.)
Rhyda was fairly conflicted on this matter. On one hand, she didn't really care that Shea left and wanted to figure herself out. (hell, even Rhyda's a little curious about her past, but she knows better than to go against Donovan). On the other hand, Rhyda's so fatally loyal to Donovan. Donovan gave her a gift that changed her life. He had been so kind to her, he had given her everything in life. She knows she owes him for all of it, which is why she follows through with Donovan's orders and goes to the Ghost City of Jiuquan, China with Felix.
Rhyda and Felix have worked together before. They're close. It should be a perfect mission. Felix distracts, gets Shea into range and Rhyda takes her out with a quick bullet to the head. Rhyda perches in a tall, abandoned skyscraper with her sniper trained on the area Felix promised he could get Shea into. Felix, disguised as Shea's companion Bianca, manages to lure Shea right into range. Rhyda hesitates. In this moment, Shea sees right through Felix's disguise. Right as Rhyda pulls the trigger, Shea hits the ground and the bullet hits the wall behind her. Shea sweeps Felix's legs out from under him and she hides behind a pillar, one where Rhyda can't hit her.
Felix, now disguiseless, fights with Shea in some intense hand-to-hand. Rhyda can't get a clear shot, especially with her distance and the speed in which the two of them are moving. Distracted by keeping track of them, Rhyda doesn't spot two more people on her internal map. The door to her hiding place flies open. There are two people - Jeb Romero and Crimson Rhoad. Rhyda knows she can't win this fight. She pulls the pin to a flash grenade and throws it right at them. In the moment they're blinded, there's a gunshot outside. Bianca had shown up and shot Felix.
Rhyda calls for their getaway helicopter. It quickly arrives (no pilot bc this is the ~future~) because it was perched on a roof not too far from their location and the two of them scramble into it and get away. As they're flying off, Rhyda - who is kinda hanging out the side like a girlboss - reads Bianca's vibration and realizes that she's the girl who saw her four years ago. When Rhyda assassinated Bianca's father. Rhyda pulls back into the helicopter. Felix is fussy because he was shot and now his favorite jacket's ruined. Rhyda's stuck on why she hesitated.
Upon returning to the Compound, Rhyda is questioned why she didn't kill Shea by Donovan. Rhyda bluntly tells Donovan that she just hesitated. Disgusted, Donovan sends Rhyda to "re-training".
[Rhyda probably runs into them two more times, I just don't have it planned out a;sdjf]
In the final events, Rhyda's in her room when she gets news that Shea, Bianca, Crimson and Jeb - alongside a small Concordian Army - have invaded the Facility. She gets her favorite firearm and makes her way to the hallway leading to the main control room. When there, she sets up her map and senses three people about to turn the corner. Rhyda fires her pistol, hitting the tallest - Crimson - right in the shoulder.
Bianca orders the other two to go on to the control room. She'll take care of Rhyda.
"You're the bastard who killed my dad," Bianca says.
"Nothin' personal, sweetheart," Rhyda responds before firing three bullets into the lights and covering the two of them in total darkness.
They fight, Rhyda having the upper hand due to her mind map. It's a bloody, brutal fight but somehow Bianca manages to kick Rhyda's gun away and fires her own bullet straight into Rhyda's chest. Bleeding out, Rhyda curses and grasps at her wounds. She knows she held back. She doesn't know why. Bianca leaves her to die.
And then the Compound is collapsing.
Rhyda gets buried in the debris.
The last we see of Rhyda, she's confirmed dead underneath a collapsed building.
Mere minutes after the end of Part One, Rhyda's body is retrieved from the rubble by Cagney Donovan.
Rhyda has the ability to see everything in a 20 mile radius like a map in her head through vibrations in the ground and in the air. It's not constantly there (she has to summon the map inside her brain), but she can "scroll" through the "map" (think you're on Google Maps and can drop to street view or bird's eye view but it's all in your brain). She can see everything in real time, from buildings to people walking their dogs, to trees rustling in the wind.
If Rhyda is given a specific person's vibration, she can track them outside of her 20-mile radius like a bloodhound. This vibration is blood red while everything else in her "map" is either navy blue or white.
Donovan was sick of people blackmailing him so he kidnapped six kids to become his superhuman assassins to take out these threats
Experimented on ages 11-16
No physical appearance other than a brief, quarter of a second clearing of her eyes
- can see everything in a 20 mile radius
- impossible to sneak up on
- allows her to see inside of buildings
- she can fight in the dark
- she has to summon the map
- once something leaves her radius and if she doesn't have the specific vibration, she loses it
- the map takes a lot of focus and quiet to pull up and keep it up
Kind of low and rough, but lazy and long. Draws out vowels and tends to make the ends of her sentences linger.
her genuine laugh is sort of an awkward chortle, low and hiccupy? comes from her chest. sounds tired in a way.
another laugh she'll have is low and kind of hissing, like that one looney tunes character that snickers a lot that I can't remember the name of at the moment. sounds like taking two pieces of sandpaper and rubbing them together.
her first languages were actually English and a little bit of Gaelic.
After going to the Compound she quickly learned a few more: French, German, Russian, and Spanish to name a few.
- loud groans
- very long and drawn out vowels
- gets raspier the louder she talks
- uses nicknames but only in a condescending manner
- curses the most out of any of the Six
the singer from the band First to Eleven!
a prime example is their cover of "Cooler Than Me" it's like- a perfect Rhyda voice a;kldsjf
usual outfit bottom to top:
- Dark brown combat boots with slightly scuffed toes and mismatched laces. The right laces are black, the left are yellow
- Mismatched socks that are folded over the top of her boots. The right is navy blue, the left is black
- Dark, dark gray-blue jeans rolled above her boots with rips in the knees and pants. Not quite skinny, but not wide-legged.
- Baggy t-shirt of some ancient band (shhh it's Queen but this story takes place 200 years in the future) half-tucked into the jeans
- Baggy dark dark green leather bomber jacket with patches on the elbows and pockets.
- Worn brown leather fingerless gloves
- A few silver necklaces (including those dog tags mentioned in Social) around her neck.
- Round black-out sunglasses either perched low on her nose or shoved in her hair
assassin outfit bottom to top:
- unique grayish khaki lace-up boots with a small platform designed to leave no footprints that hit just below her knees
- dark gray-green pants
- brown utility belt with plenty of pockets
- form-fitting dark green jacket jacket with a bronze zipper down the front of the chest
- sleek dark brown fingerless gloves
- goggles with a brown leather strap that she usually keeps up in her hair
- A pistol
- Another pistol
- A couple casings of bullets
- A sturdy chord with a hook at the end of it (for quick getaways)
- A pack of gum
- A grenade or two
A sniper or pistol.
Rhyda's been trained in marksmanship and firearms. Because of her power, they let her track a target from up to twenty miles away and a sniper's the best way to go. Her favorite gun is a simple, long black sniper.
She also likes her bronze brass knuckles with sharp ridges along each of the fingers. Rarely uses these, only for emergencies
She doesn't really like driving vehicles (hard to considering she's blind and the map in her brain requires energy to pull up) but she'll use whatever Donovan provides.
She likes her girlfriend's car the most though. It's a black convertible that's been upgraded to race through the abandoned streets of Los Angeles.
Rhyda's blind, she was born blind and Donovan couldn't do any sort of surgery on her that would fix that without hurting her.
A little bit of anxiety. Especially when something goes wrong or if she's super confused.
allergic to peanuts
also has a slight nicotine problem

Father: Callen O'Connell
Caleb and Rhyda had a pretty good relationship. He supported her even though she was blind. When Rhyda was eight, she told her dad that she wanted to play rugby. Caleb knew that it was an unattainable dream due to his daughter's blindness, but still bought her a rugby ball and took her to the park weekly to play with her. He supported his daughter through and through and respected when she wanted to do things by herself. Overall a good relationship.
Mother: Kaila O'Connell
Rhyda loved her mother, but she wasn't as respectful of her wishes as her father. Kaila constantly wanted to baby Rhyda, which caused a riff between the doting mother and independent daughter. However, Kaila developed a brain tumor when Rhyda was six and she passed away when Rhyda was nine. Her death affected Rhyda heavily. Rhyda thought she caused it by not loving her mom enough.
Brothers: Zachary and Thomas O'Connell
Zac and Tom are Rhyda's younger twin brothers by five years. She was pretty close to them. They liked to play rough and Rhyda was always down for a wrestling match between her brothers.
Felix Herrera:
Felix and Rhyda are best friends, partners in crime, ride or die homies. They both love pushing people's buttons and love a little chaos every now and then. They can both be pretty chill, just lounging in each other's rooms and talking about nothing, or they can be 100% on the intensity scale, toppling governments with a cackle and a smile. They fit well together because Felix is an easy person to tease and Rhyda's all for giving him a hard time. Regardless, they're best of friends. They naturally find each other to hang out with. It's easy for them to be around each other.
[Character-1125820]]:
Pazia and Rhyda get along fine... they'd just rather not be around each other. Rhyda has a habit of antagonizing people and Pazia is not one who cares to be irritated. However, when it comes down to it, they respect each other. Rhyda respects Pazia as a leader, Pazia respects Rhyda's skill and ability to follow orders. Plus, Rhyda really appreciates how organized Pazia is. Makes it a lot easier for her to follow along.
Abel Nakamura:
Rhyda and Abel are pretty good friends. They like to play music together or lounge around and make fun of random things, but they don't ever go out on missions together. Rhyda thinks Abel is a little much at times, Abel thinks Rhyda needs to get off the couch more.
Grace Evans:
Rhyda and Grace get along pretty well. Grace is quiet and patient and usually the person Rhyda goes to if she needs a visual interpretation of what's going on. They like to sit in silence together and listen to ancient records of a band called My Chemical Romance. Grace will always indulge Rhyda in her philosophical debates.
Angel Donovan:
Rhyda is loyal to a fault to Donovan. Donovan was the one who gave her "sight" and Rhyda feels like she's forever in his debt. She will always follow out with Donovan's orders. Donovan greatly uses her remarkable marksmanship to his advantage and isn't afraid to pull the "I gave you sight" card. Very unhealthy relationship, but then again, aren't all of Donovan's?
Jackpot the Ferret:
Jackpot likes to sit on Rhyda's shoulder and she never minds. She finds Jackpot to be a constant source of amusement and is always encouraging the weasel to steal things and bring them to her.
Cagney Donovan:
Rhyda finds Cagney to be an endless source of amusement and laughs. Cagney is a small child who is unafraid to cut a bitch and Rhyda's all for it. She likes to give Cagney advise on how to effectively aim and take a shot.
Drew Donovan:
Like the rest of the Six, Rhyda thinks Drew is a certified "pretty boy" who lives a cushy life because he's Donovan's kid. Rhyda's pretty hostile towards him, always angling many snarky comments and insults in his direction.
Shea Tomatuk-Desmond:
Rhyda and Shea used to be on really good terms, but after Shea left, Rhyda felt like it was her duty to fulfill what Donovan wants and kill Shea. However, Rhyda feels extremely conflicted about the whole thing. She practically grew up with Shea. They used to be so close and hang out literally all the time, but then Shea ran away and Donovan placed a price on her head.
Bianca Wong:
Rhyda was assigned to kill Bianca's father - Sherman Wong - when she was seventeen. Ever since then, Bianca's been seeking revenge. Rhyda, quite honestly, forgot about Bianca. However, when they come face-to-face in the story, they brawl. Rhyda, for some reason, (she's subconsciously riddled with guilt for killing Bianca's father. Rhyda never quite recovered from her mother's death, even if she doesn't remember it) goes easy on Bianca. Bianca ends up disarming Rhyda and gravely wounding her.
Rhyda finds people amusing. She likes to see what they think about random topics and enjoys picking their brains. She also likes figuring out what they're insecure about to somehow exploit in her own way. She does have a value for life, she does feel sick everytime she has to kill a parent (though she doesn't know why). She also finds people incredibly annoying, especially the ones that are always trying to help.
Homoromantic, Homosexual
a ~lesbian~
Cool, why not? Pretty indifferent towards it, not really a big deal in life but still sounds pretty cool. She's open to it, just not really a priority.
Physical touch
She'll drape herself on somebody's lap casually or use somebody's head as an armrest. When it's with one of The Six, it's usually something casual like this. However, with her girlfriend, Rhyda will literally be all over her. Lots of PDA, doesn't give two shits who sees.
Rhyda's usually pretty chill and laid back when around her partner, but that doesn't mean things won't heat up in an instant. She doesn't care who sees. She usually responds to teasing comments with an eyebrow raise and something like "oh yeah?" or "wanna bet?" A master at taking things from a 1 to a 9 in seconds.

doesn't really care. agnostic? might be something out there
doesn't give two shits as long as they're not trying to convert her
anarchy's fun. who needs a government?! doesn't like it when others try to police people. everyone should be in charge of themselves
Rhyda doesn't really care all too much for politics, but she absolutely hates it when people try to police her life and others. very much for a loose government, hell, even no government at all.
Assassin for Donovan Enterprises
Not really big on food but she's always down for a bag of chips. Easy to eat, tastes good, fun to throw at people.
Doesn't have a favorite color because she can't see colors.
The Bat
They use echolocation in a similar way Rhyda uses her superhuman ability and swoop in for the kill just like she does with her snipers.
Some dog tags that have a soldier's name printed in braille. She doesn't know who the soldier is (their name was Sam Muller) and doesn't know what war they fought in, she just thinks it's really cool. The feeling is kinda rusty. It was the first World War thing she found in braille.
Rhyda likes quiet cloudy evenings that are warm. She's always liked warm weather and the clouds prevent it from getting hot.
The Ghost City of Los Angeles
It's where her off and on girlfriend lives and there's lots of good memories associated with the Ghost City.
