Nico is intelligent with a good sense of humour. She has a lot of interests in common with Medea and the two get along very well. Nico is also good with words, and according to Medea, she "smells really good".

Because of her empathetic nature, she never hesitates to help those in need of it, treating all with warmth and respect. Even with this, she isn't without her flawed, quirky, and immature side, which is typical for my characters.

Something she shares with Medea is that Nico is unforgiving of anyone who opposes her sense of justice until they stop, even if there is a large difference in power. That shows when she attacks the demon possessing her father even though he was way stronger than an average human.

Though she is usually calm and compassionate, Nico has a hidden violent side to her when her short temper is brought into play.

She is also duty-focused, considering she choosing her duty as a princess over her love for Medea is what ended their relationship.

Nicoletta Argento da Firenze is one of Norrington's Desire's two central characters (along with Medea Norrington), being the protagonist of Under Pressure, as well as the deuteragonist of Under Siege, and Under World (along with the rest of the V7D). She goes by the nickname of Conquest.

Nicoletta—as her name suggests—is as unapologetically Italian as they come. At 27, this Florence-born gunslinger isn’t just the leader of V7D—she’s its founder, the one who decided that some people deserved a second shot at life, whether they believed it or not. She handpicked three lost souls, saw the fire still burning in them, and dragged them back into the fight. Under her leadership, the V7D takes on high-stakes jobs—wiping out criminals, protecting high-value targets, and, more recently, dealing with the horrors who escaped from the Underworld… all while helping Medea chase down whatever she’s after in Italy.

Guns are her art, her trade, and her mark. Trained since fifteen as a sharpshooter, gunslinger, and sniper, she doesn’t miss. But why settle for ordinary weapons when she has Whisper? A gun she can summon at will, one that never runs out of ammo, never fails, never lets her lose. More than just a firearm, Whisper bends to her will, letting her control every bullet she fires.

She is eventually revealed to be the human incarnation of Laurel Nasuka, who created her to satisfy her insatiable desire to explore the outside world.

BACKSTORY:

Nicoletta Argento was born into a wealthy and prominent family in Italy. Her father was a successful businessman who provided his family with the finest. Despite her privileged upbringing, Nicoletta was determined to forge her own path. She had a passion for gunslinging and convinced her father to let her train with the best marksmen in Italy.

Nicoletta quickly developed her skills and became known as the best shot in her family's social circles. However, her aversion to killing often put her at odds with her colleagues and their associates, who preferred more violent methods.

One day while being mugged, Nicoletta instinctively was able to summon a magical gun left to her hands. With the gun, she discovered she could redirect her bullets, making them non-lethal yet effective. Nicoletta quickly gained a reputation as a skilled gunslinger and was sought after by many people for her services. Despite her associates' disapproval, she never forgot her moral code and always made sure to use her magical gun to avoid taking lives.

One day, Nicoletta met Miyuuki Strafford at a charity event hosted by her father. She was drawn to Nicoletta's friendly and upbeat personality and begged to join her on her adventures. Nicoletta was initially hesitant, but she saw potential in Miyuuki's vampire strength and agility and agreed to take her as the first member of a project she was thinking about: Project V7D.

Fast forward to another day, Nicoletta and Miyuuki stumbled upon Quincey in an illegal fight ring in Rome. They were both impressed by his fighting skills, but Nico was appalled by his lack of mercy towards his opponents. Nicoletta offered him a chance to redeem himself by joining their team, and Quincey agreed. He saw in Nicoletta a chance to turn on a new leaf and leave his dark past behind.

• Her design was heavily based on Sango from InuYasha and Lucy/Nyu from Elfen Lied.

• She is bisexual.

• The name of her biological mother, Claudia Castagnoli, is a reference to the professional wrestler Claudio Castagnoli.

• Her last name, Argento, is a nod to the Italian film director Dario Argento.

• Her favourite musician is Katy Perry.

WHISPER:
Whisper is Nicoletta's magic gun. Its abilities include:

Shapeshifting into any kind of handgun, from antique flintlocks to modern pistols or futuristic sidearms. Nicoletta has a personal fondness for flintlocks, and Whisper reflects her preferences by default.

Summonable, Whisper is always attuned to Nicoletta, allowing her to summon it to her hand instantly.

''Ghost'' Bullets, These ethereal bullets cause no physical damage but simulate the effects of being shot—pain, shock, and mental distress. Ideal for intimidation or psychological warfare.

''Conqueror'' Bullets, these physical rounds can harm and destroy tangible objects or beings. With enough power to blow someone’s forearm off, they serve as Whisper’s true offensive capability.

Infinite Ammo, Whisper’s magical nature provides endless bullets and completely negates recoil, allowing for precision shooting without wear on Nicoletta’s body.

Trajectory Manipulation, Nicoletta can control the path of bullets mid-flight, redirecting them around obstacles or changing their speed.

Slight Sentience, Whisper may or may not have subtle sentience, occasionally giving Nicoletta cryptic warnings or encouraging her actions through faint whispers (true to its name). However, this "voice" could sometimes be distracting or misleading, depending on the situation.

WEAKNESSES

Magic Dependency, Whisper draws from Nicoletta’s magical reserves to function. Prolonged or excessive use (especially when firing Conqueror Bullets or altering trajectories) can drain her energy, leaving her physically and magically fatigued.

Cooldown, Redirecting bullet trajectories or altering their speed takes immense focus and magic. Overusing this feature triggers a cooldown period where Whisper can only fire in a straight line.

Delay, While Whisper can take many forms, the transformation process takes exactly 10 seconds, leaving Nicoletta vulnerable if she’s caught needing a different type of firearm mid-combat.

Binding to Nicoletta Whisper is uniquely bound to Nicoletta and will not respond to others, basically returning to its old and wasted flintlock pistol form. However, this also means Nicoletta is responsible for its upkeep. If Whisper’s magical bond is ever severed or disrupted (through curses, anti-magic fields, or similar means), it becomes temporarily inert.
