(Um idm I can?)
The creature took a step back and growled low in its throat. It as starving, was all.
(Um idm I can?)
The creature took a step back and growled low in its throat. It as starving, was all.
Crash didn't care. He advanced, hackles raised, and placed a paw in the stream. The water crackled loudly and the surface started to freeze, reaching thin branches of ice towards the creature.
The creature reared with a resounding whine but galloped forward, hoping to knock Crash into the water.
Crash leaped to meet him, and suddenly he had wings, enormous wings that buffeted the creature and thrashed the water into frosty spray. He rammed into his opponent, biting down on its scruff and shaking as hard as he could.
(this is the kind of boss fight I somehow never get a chance to write about in my own stories TwT)
The creature shook Crash off and sent him flying into a tree. It cantered forward, about to trample Crash.
"Welp," Luke said, and caught a handful of the beast's fur as it ran by. Climbing onto its shoulders, he drew his knife and started laying into its ears and the back of its neck, stabbing and slashing repeatedly.
The creature skidded to a stop when it felt Luke's dagger in its back. It started jumping and bucking in an attempt to throw him off.
Crash snarled and got to his feet, shaking the dizziness away. He folded his wings into nothingness and charged forward again, snapping at the creature's face and muzzle.
"Hey, Nate," Luke yelled, struggling to stay aboard the tossing head. "Go for the back legs, we gotta lame it!"
Nate got to his feet and sprinted at the creature. It jumped and grabbed onto its left hind leg, dragging his knife down into its flesh.
Attacked from all sides, the creature sunk to its knees.
Luke jumped out of the way just before Crash buried his teeth in the creature's throat. He lifted the beast up and flung him down the slope, then bounded over and threw him again. "GO AWAY," he bellowed, clouds of mist rising from his coat.
The creature's legs wiggled miserably. It whimpered quietly, unable to move.
Crash eyed it for a minute, then sighed and walked forward. "Fine," he said. Taking a hold of the creature's scruff once more, he started to drag it away. ""I'll be back later," he called through clenched teeth. "Gotta drop this guy off at the border."
Luke took a deep breath. "Man. That was an unpleasant way to end the day. Still, you almost gotta feel sorry for the big doof. Hopefully it'll find something to eat…… far away from here."
Nathan looked on as Crash dragged the thing away. "It was kind of adorable, in a way."
"Yeah, the same way an adolescent rhinoceros is adorable. Shall we get back to cooking? I'm famished."
Nathan chuckled and turned back to Luke. "Fair enough, and let's." He started scaling the hill to get back to the deer.
"Too bad we don't have a frying pan or something," Luke commented as they returned to work. "I guess we'll have to skewer the meat on sticks or something. Oh well, a barbecue sounds good too."
(Psst, Carys, you there?)
"Barbecues are always good. Whatever dimension you're in." He looked around. "But we'll probably need a fire. Should I go gather some kindling?"
"Sure thing. I'll go this way, you go that way. Watch out for…..eh, just watch out. Lotsa weirdos in these parts."
"No joke." Nathan set off into the trees.
(Carys, yoohoo)
(It seems I gotta go, sorry)
(K bye)
(Anyone there?)
(No? :< )
(goodnight…..)
(I'm here now!)
