Ryuu walks down the eerie hallway of the hospital, blood splattered on his face and shirt. It was hard to tell whether or not it was his.
His body aches non-stop as he heads towards the dimmed, broken exit sign.
His ginger hair flops in his face, the strings of golden blocking his already blurry vision. Ryuu holds a hand up to his forehead, wiping blood off of it only to feel a sharp pain in his head.
that's….definitely mine… he thinks to himself with a heavy sigh. In his hands he holds a rather large knife duct-taped to the end of a stick. (:D) Covered in blood and…is that? Well hell it is. A piece of zombie scalp and a clump of hair was wedged in between the thick wood and blade. He tries his best not to gag as he shoved his shoulder against the large metal door, leaning all of his weight onto it.
The door opens and the crisp air rushing over Ryuu reminds him that he's alive. He's not one of the dead yet.
Not yet…
He takes in a deep breath, the air so nice and cold it almost stings his nose and throat as it travels down to his lungs. Ryuu smiles, relief flooding over him as he stands at the edge of the railing on the third floor of the hospital.
He slumps down on the railing, looking across the street to an apartment building. Maybe he could make his way there and stay there for the night.
No- he needs to keep on moving.
He closes his eyes, dozing off quickly and letting his body's muscles loosen and relax before quickly jolting back awake. "okay maybe one night" he says to himself, rubbing his eyes. Immediately regreting it, he quickly gets the edge of his long sleeved shirt and wipes the blood out of his eye as best he can. Ryuu has never been one to curse, so instaed he just says "oh goodness gracious!" in a very panicked tone instead.
After he's able to see clearly, he picks the makeshift speak back and heads down the stairs into the streets. He walks slow, but not like a zombie. He always made sure not to walk like one nobody how much he related to them sometimes, in fear of someone shooting him without trying to figure out.
He looks around the street.
Its so….empty. Barren.
This spring, the snow had started to melt a little while ago and now all that was left was mud and new vines sprouting up from the ground to take over the buildings that no longer belonged to the human race. Not anymore.
He crosses the street into the apartment building, looking around the main lobby before making his way up the stairs.
He makes sure his footsteps are soft and his breathing was steady. As steady as he could make it anyway.
Ryuu's vision starts to go blurry again and his head spins
did i hit my head that bad? I really need to find a safe place to lay down he thinks to himself, adjusting the large brown backpack on his pack.
Soon he hears footsteps. Not zombie like footsteps. Human footsteps. He can hear footsteps yet no sound of the terrible groaning of the zombies.
Was there another person here? Or was he hallucinating?
"Hey!" he calls out weakly. It was a dangerous thing to try but he had to do something. Ryuu leans against the wall of the building, clinging onto the railing as he tries to avoid the weak spots in the stairs himself. It had only been six months so it wasnt too bad, but every now and again there was some sort of black spot or whole or missing tiles that Ryuu wasn't willing to take any chances on. Especially not in the state he's in now.
"Is somebody there? Please help me" he asks. His voice was as soft as it normally was, but a tinge of desperation could be heard. Sincerity.
When the dog tackles her, Ophelia falls down into the water, her head submerged. Cassius' heart plummets to his stomach before he drops everything and slips into the water as fast as he could, reaching towards Fia. She flails around for a moment or two before Jax grabs her away from the dog.
Cassius quickly heads towards Fia, letting the clothes float around in the river. He's careful not to slip on any of the flat rocks covered in the slick mud on the rivers bed when he takes Fia in his arms. His heart beats hard against his chest and he can feel his pulse in his ears, his hands shaking violently.
Water was never something you should take lightly nor be careless about, as it can end life so easily. He knew that more than most.
She coughs violently as she clings to Cass, tears and snot running down her face. "Hey hey you're okay baby. I've got you" he says softly, kissing the top of her head as he brings her back to the bank, patting her back. He sits her on the rivers ledge on a large rock before looking to Jax.
All over his face spelled disappointment as its etched into his furrowed brows and his eyes glaring up at him. His lips hadn't the hint of kindness in them at the moment. This was his child and Cassius didn't take this situation lightly. In fact, he could have taken this much more seriously than he already did.
"Go home." he says to him, his blonde hair plastered against his face and water drips from his clothes.
Ophelia continues to cough, water still coming up through her mouth and nose.
"Take your dog and go to the house. I don't want to hurt her but i will if you don't take her away" he says bluntly. His voice was monotone with a sting to it.
He would never hurt an animal if it weren't for him or his family to survive. But if anything hurt his daughter he's not hesitating grabbing a gun and blowing a hole through the skull of anything who dares hurt her. Meaning to or not.
That's why Cassius told Jax to take the dog and leave to the house for now.
Jesse looks up to Cherry at her question and notions towards the beans in Angelas hands, not saying much more than "i have knife if you need" she says to her, trying to pick the bullet out of her leg. It was in pretty deep but she had to get it out soon. It had already started to get infected, showing the more early signs of swelling and slight puss around the wound.
She digs the tweezers in deep before giving up and throwing them on the floor, angry about it. "hold still" she says to her before taking her fingers and digging into the wound, squeezing the skin around it to move it slightly before she could dig it out. She was sure this hurt like hell, but it was either this or Jesse accidentally stabbing her with the tweezers out of frustration. Jesse was never good at working with small intricate things that took patience, care and precision.
She looks up to see if Shaun had changed his mind about crying in front of them only to see the most horrifying show of teeth she's ever seen in her life.
Her eyes widen at the horrifying sight, not wanting to look anymore but not wanting to look away. It sent a shiver up her spine how weirdly he was looking at her. Jesse's lip curls up in disgust as he starts to speak.
She blinks, looking at the scar before choosing to speak up.
"That was not good explanation of how you got that ugly." she says, shivering. "You look like pedo" she states.
