(Okay. Later.)
(Okay. Later.)
(Hiya!)
“Well, I’ve been reading up on the constellations again, seeing if anything rings a bell, there are a few things but not much.” He sighed a little.
(Hey-hey!)
"That's okay. You shouldn't expect to remember everything at once, or even a ton of things at once. Honestly, I was surprised you remembered so much yesterday," Aubrey admitted with a small smile.
“Me too, I didn’t think I’d remember anything at all.” He said, returning the smile.
"Well, I'm glad you did. And that you are. I'm sure you'll remember everything before you know it," Aubrey assured him.
He sighed then bit his lip before asking his question, “Was… was it my fault.. that I was in the accident?”
Aubrey sat down on the couch, shaking her head quickly. "No. No, it was definitely not your fault," she said. Her voice turned bitter as she continued, "Some idiot was driving around drunk in the middle of the day. He ran a red light and crashed into the passenger side of your car…"
“Passenger side? Does that mean someone else was in the car with me?”
"No… Just the side opposite your's," Aubrey clarified.
He nodded, “Okay, at least no one else got hurt.”
"Yeah," Aubrey agreed. "Well… The driver of the other vehicle did, I think…"
“Apart from him…” Liam said with a sigh and sat down next to Aubrey..
"I'm really glad you weren't hurt worse," Aubrey said quietly, looking down at her hands, which she had folded in her lap.
Liam took her hands in his, “Me too, but I would have preferred a few broken bone then memory loss.”
"Yeah," Aubrey sighed, nodding slowly. She was still looking at her hands, which were now being held in Liam's. A slight blush rose to her cheeks because of it, though she didn't know why. It wasn't like they'd never held hands before, they were best friends. Best friends did that all the time…
(I'll be back in about a half an hour, an hour tops. Supper calls.)
“Do you want something to drink?” He asked her, gently letting go of her hands.
(Okie dokie)
(And I'm back!)
Aubrey looked up and smiled at Liam. "Sure. Water would be great," she answered.
Her hands already felt colder, but she wouldn't dare take his hands again. Why was she feeling so awkward around him lately?
“Coming right up.” He said, smiling a little and walking to the kitchen to grab her a glass of water.
"Thanks!" Aubrey called after him. She leaned back slightly into the couch as she waited for him to come back, mulling over her thoughts and ever-confusing emotions.
Liam came back a few minutes later with a glass of water for Aubrey, he sat down next to her and handed it to her, “Here.”
Aubrey thanked Liam again before taking a sip, holding the glass in her lap when she wasn't drinking from it.
"So, I had an idea to help you get your memories back," she offered, looking over and smiling at him.
He frowned a little then smiled at Aubrey, “W-what’s the idea?”
"Nothing scary or dangerous, I promise," Aubrey said. "I just want to take you to places we used to hang out at."
