"Okay, another question… where am I?" He asked, looking at Aubrey.
"Okay, another question… where am I?" He asked, looking at Aubrey.
Aubrey cleared her throat. "You… are in the hospital…"
"Why?" He asked, bringing a hand to his head, it must have something to do with his head.
"You were in an accident," Aubrey whispered, still not meeting his eyes. "No one was killed, but the driver broke a few bones. You were fine… Just… Unconscious…" A tear slipped down her cheek, unchecked.
"And I take it I lost my memory?" He asked, watching the tear slide down Aubrey's face.
Aubrey nodded slowly, more tears streaming down her face. "It– it certainly looks that way."
“I-I’m Sorry I don’t, I can’t-“ He sighed, “I want t-to remember you. Please believe me, I-I do but… can you help… can you help me remember?” He asked.
"I– I'll…try… I don't really know how, though…" Aubrey admitted, biting her lip.
Before Liam could respond a Doctor walked in, “Ah, Liam you’re awake,” he said, “Now, how are you feeling and what do you remember?” He sat down next to Liam.
“Well, my head hurts, a lot and I can’t remember anything. A-Aubrey told me my name where I was what happened and what she was to me.”
(Sorry, I'm not on my laptop so it's harder to keep track of my RPs.)
Aubrey listened to the doctor talk to Liam, but she barely heard him. She was lost in her own thoughts, staring at the wall.
What I was to him. Yeah… because he doesn't remember me… I can't take this personally; he wouldn't say that normally, it's because of his injury. He's got amnesia or something.
“Well, for the signs you’ve shown you have severe amnesia,” The Doctor said, “It’s going to be hard to remember but I’m sure Aubrey might be willing to help.” Liam nodded, “Take these for the head pains.” He handed him a small orange bottle, “Two a day until the pains go.”
"Of course I'll help," Aubrey agreed, nodding. As much as I can anyway…
“Good. I just need to check with the office if you can leave, Liam. I’ll be back shortly.” He said, leaving the room. Liam watched him go.
"So… You officially have amnesia…" Aubrey mused quietly. She looked up at her oldest friend, who had no memory of who she was, and gave him a sad smile. "What do you think of that?"
Liam looked down and fidgeted with the sleeves of his shirt, “Well, I-I have no memory of anything or you a-and if your here then you must be important to me in some way. I can’t remeber who I-I am because of this stupid accident. I-I guess I’m mad and upset…”
Aubrey reached out to gently place a hand on his arm. Hopefully he didn't think that was weird because he didn't remember her… Whatever, she had already done it.
"I promise to do my best to help you remember everything," she said softly. "If that's all right with you, of course."
He looked at Aubrey, a single tear fell down his face and he nodded, “T-Thank you.”
"Of course," Aubrey said, looking toward the door for a moment. When would that doctor be back to say if Liam could leave or not? Wait… "Do you want me to bring you to your place if they let you out? Or do you know where it is?"
He shook his head, “I didn’t know I had my own place.” He said quietly, “But… but maybe it will help my memory if I see it.”
"I'll take you there when they let you out, if you want me to," Aubrey offered.
He nodded, a small smile on his lips, “Yes, yes please.”
Aubrey smiled back. It was good to see Liam smiling, it was something familiar to her, unlike his loss of memory. That scared her, if she was being honest. She didn't know if she really could help him, but she would never tell him that. She would just try get best. Without pushing him too far, this is.
Just that moment, the Doctor came back in, “You are free to go, Liam. I trust Aubrey will take could care of you.” Liam nodded, “Thanks for the help.” He said, standing. He felt a little wobbly am doing it took him a moment to regain his balance.
Aubrey quickly stood and thanked the doctor. Once he had left, she turned to Liam to help him however she could.
"Do you want to go straight to your apartment?" she asked, offering him her hand or arm or something.
Liam took her arm so he could balance himself and he nodded, “It’s a place to start.”
