Thank Gods. I don't need another episode like yesterday's.
"Alright… um… do you want me to make you breakfast?" Havenwood shimmied into the apartment.
Thank Gods. I don't need another episode like yesterday's.
"Alright… um… do you want me to make you breakfast?" Havenwood shimmied into the apartment.
"I can, it's fine." she said, getting up and opening the fridge.
"Alright…" Havenwood glanced around and sat stiffly on the edge of the new armchair, feeling exceptionally out of place, even though he'd previously asked Apollo to clean the place up. In the fridge, it was full (want).
Maria made some scrambled eggs, toast, and bacon, wanting to eat something simple. This morning, however, she made two servings. She was a pretty good cook, and even the simplest of meals she made with elegance. "Here, careful that you don't burn your mouth as it's a bit hot." she said, handing Havenwood a plate.
"Thanks. You really didn't need to cook for me." Havenwood carefully picked up the new fork. and dove it into the egg. "So, do you like what Apollo did with the place?" He asked conversationally and glanced over at her.
"It's nicer than it was, and actually clean for once." she giggled.
"Yeah, Apollo did a really nice job. He also replaced some furnishings, and I'm really proud of him for that… You'll have to meet him now." He grinned at her and ate some egg.
"He seems nice."
"Yeah, apart from being my twin, he's great."
(i'm going to bed, have a good night! I'll be on a lot tomorrow)
(It's fine, g'night!)
"Siblings are annoying sometimes, I feel ya."
(Hello!)
Havenwood grinned appreciatively and continued eating the egg, feeling confused about the texture.
"This… is so weird… I've never actually had mortal food before."
"First time for everything." she said, but since she had a mouthful of toast it came out as "Fah tah fo' evahfing."
Havenwood chuckled gently before taking a bite of bacon before pulling it away to stare at it, looking amazed.
"Wh-what is this? It's delicious!"
"Bacon. It's bacon."
"Fascinating." He took another small nibble.
"It's really not that special at all, it's just normal food."
Havenwood shrugged. "It's great."
"Yeah, I suppose it is." she said. Then, suddenly, she had an idea. "Havenwood, would you like to meet my family? I dunno, it's an idiotic idea but I have been telling them about my new job-well, not too much, don't worry-and they've been asking a lot about you. So I just thought….. well, you don't have to, I was just thinking….." she trailed off.
"Oh, sure." Havenwood grinned at her and quickly finished the food, which he found to be amazing. "Shall we go now?"
"What? Now? I meant in a week or so, it takes a while to arrange things!" she stammered.
"I… alright, I was thinking that you already had stuff planned." Havenwood raised his hands.
Geez mortals are so disorganized…
"I generally wait until people actually agree to things to plan them."
"Makes sense, I suppose." Havenwood let his hands down.
"Well, next week Friday would work, that's when Pedro has a day off from his job, and I could call my parents to see what time works for them before making anything official….." Maria said, running through plans in her head.
Havenwood made a silent note in his head of the days she planned. Will I have to dress up… Nice? Will they expect me to tell them I'm a God? Am I… actually worried about this?
