"Hey, hey, don't talk like that." Cash absolutely hates that line. It's the line that side characters make to side characters just before the injured one dies; and sure, he's a kicker for sad movies, his friends in school never understood that, but this is real. "You're going to be just fine. You're not going to die on me, dude." Please, let me not be lying as I speak.
"Don't get me wrong, Cash. I'm going to fight it. But… it's a possibility, and you need to get somewhere actually safe, whether I make it or not. I've lost… maybe as much blood as you would in a donation, a little bit more? I'm not trying to make you worry, but…" Pollux kept muttering to himself. He realized he was rambling, probably making the situation more anxiety-inducing for himself and for Cash.
Cash puts his free hand on Pollux's arm just below the wound. "The bleeding should stop on its own soon, right?"
(Of course; there's still room. The template is on the first page. You can try to skim through the events so far if you'd like and if you have the time.)
I'm a bit busy, so I'll post my character and try to read through if that works?
Cash puts his free hand on Pollux's arm just below the wound. "The bleeding should stop on its own soon, right?"
Pollux didn't reply. He didn't want to lie to Cash. The truth was, he was unsure of what was going to happen. He looked back at his arm. Blood was soaking through the makeshift bandage by now.
Unsettled by his unanswered question, Cash nods to sort himself out. "Okay." Really wish I'd taken a class on stuff like this. He leans over, grabbing another t-shirt and some more ice. He makes another bandage, gently tying things up a little neater this time. He tosses the bloodied cloth to the side and rests his head back against the crate. Suddenly he's so very tired, the soaring adrenaline rush from the fight having left him exhausted.
He looks over at Pollux. "I'm sorry that I don't know anything more about…." he gestures to Pollux's arm. "this."
"You're… you're fine… You can't have expected anything like this to ever happen." Pollux sat up straight, then looked at the bag he had lying next to him and remembered the first-aid kit. With his uninjured hand, he rummaged through it and found a roll of bandages, then propped his arm up over his knee. He wrapped them around his arm, above the wound, as tightly as he possibly could in order to cut off the circulation.
"Cash, I didn't want to do this, but could you remind me to take these new bandages off as soon as the bleeding slows down enough? I'd rather not lose my arm." Pollux leaned back against the wall. "I think we've done everything possible for now. I need to… rest…" he murmured, letting his eyes fall closed.
"Ok." Cash says quietly. Then, confident that Pollux is okay for now, he quietly stands and moves a bit away. He looks to Zoe and nods at Pollux. "Keep an eye on him, would you?" He gestures to the body of their almost-murderer. "I'm going to take care of him."
(I am very lost and I think I'll drop out.)
Zoe watched and nodded her head. "Fine." She gestured for him to go away and then she sat down on the floor, lost in her own thoughts.
(should we time skip forwards? And @TheLavenderOwl you can probably rejoin pretty easily. Some weird stuff happened when a bunch of people decided to leave, but it shouldn't be hard to rejoin if you actually wanted to)
(I think I'll just leave. I have other RPs I'm doing and I never really got involved with this one.)
[@TheLavenderOwl , we'll miss you. :( If you'd like us to skip, I'd say it shouldn't be for more than a day or two. You decide.]
(I didn't mean that long, I meant more like a few hours, maybe up to the next day, so yeah, if you think that'd work.)
(Definitely.)
Cash awakens with a jerk. He had dreamed, but it was all in gray…except for the blood. Yeah, the blood was it's normal stark scarlet. It'd been his Dad's blood this time, splattered across the light concrete of the driveway…..just like it had been in real life.
He looks over at Pollux. After he'd reminded him to loosen the bandage, he'd stayed a ways away. Geez, Cash. It's a plague. A zombie apocalypse basically, and you're *still lightheaded at a little blood?*
Pollux awoke, feeling very groggy, but he'd made it through the night, and he was grateful for that. He wasn't quite ready to get up, but he saw Cash not so far away, eyes open and fixed on Pollux.
"Cash, I'm worried… should we stay here? That basically just proved that this is no place to be if there's an attack. Escape is too difficult."
Cash fights back the urge to shrug. "The majority of us would have to agree." He looks to Zoe and Pollux.
"Well, there are a lot of reasons for us not to stay here. I'm not just talking about our survival as individuals, but the survival of our race as a whole. If we don't join up with other humans, we're bound to eventually die out. We're not meant to work alone," Pollux explained, "But if either of you has a good enough reason to not leave, then we can consider both sides."
//WOAH I REMEMBER THIS
HEY GUYS
REMEMBER ME
I killed my character and I’m a stalker now
Or maybe i’ll Bring back another character if you guys let me
(I mean, it says it's open, so I'm sure you're free to join. There are only 3 of us atm)
(@ImNotCrazyImAFangirl, you did kill Aberdeen. Her death was gory, sudden, and epic. :P Feel free to bring in another character. If you'd like to have that list of all the living characters and their locations, I can post it again.)
Cash nods. "I don't disagree with what you're saying." He looks around the warehouse, at the sleeping forms of the other survivors, at the dark brown stain on the floor where the 'cowboy' fell dead from Zoe's bullets. "The main reason I'd say no is I'm scared to death about all of this." He gestures at nothing. "Sometimes I still think this is a bad dream, or a horror movie, and any moment I'll just wake up."
